Mitsubishi Infotainment Screen Reset

- Many Mitsubishi's in our fleet have infotainment screens failing to power up at only a thousand kilometers or so. Pulling and reseating the yellow shroud around the associated fuses is a quick way to reset power to the unit.

Thanks mate your fix saved my mate a 2 week wait at the dealership. Legend👍👏
You are a legend mate, easiest fix I've ever had to make on a vehicle. Thank you.
Omg!!! You literally saved my life 😭🙏🏻♥️♥️
The fix worked wonderfully on my 2020 Montero Sport. Thank you very much!
very informative.thanks Sir
Thanks man you saved me!!!
It worked thank you
That’s awesome, worked great
Can you please share the outlander year model, I can’t find the fuse box in 2016 outlander
Thank you!
Thanks for the Video!!
Should the car be turn on or off when trying to reprogram radio
Off.
Does that same thing work for 2020 Mitsubishi outlander
Bro they got the fuse box so far back in there I can't even change a fuse without having to hold the fuse puller in a pair of extended pliers. Like I can't even fit my wrist back in there
Welcome to the wonderful world of Automotive, there are many such horrors and nightmares to explore!
How to replace that fuse Sir?
Thank you!!!!
Hi John
Great post. Unfortunately, was tinkering with my J11 unit (from a Japanese imported Outlander) and mistakenly ran an English language conversion .exec file in the 'User' SD slot (which I've since learned is for personal audio files). The result is that the unit won't startup correctly. Do you know of a down loadable file that will reset the unit and/or reinstall the factor operating system?
No. I did not work for that manufacturer, so I don't know where to find their flash files. Sorry bud, hope you find what you need.
how to delete data usb on radio usb, please help me😢 asap
I had hoped mine would be that simple, but no. I actually was holding the power button on the radio when I started the car, trying to catch the sound before it blasted. I think I somehow caused it to go blank. But pulling out the yellow sheath didn't work. Nor are there any fuses in the spot designated to radio in the fuse box under the hood. Is there some sort of reset holding pattern to the power and reset buttons? I really don't want this to cost an arm and a leg for my 2017 Mirage.
No, sadly. The only remaining thing you can try is to disconnect the vehicle battery for 10 minutes and reconnect. If that doesn't work, there's really nothing left to try on your own.
Should the car be turn on or off when trying to reprogram radio 0:45
You're not reprogramming it with this, you're power cycling it. The key does not need to be on.
Sir, request naman po, tutorial naman po kung papano baklasin yon cover ng turning/signal switch pls, thanks
Does this fix the dead spot/s issue
Doubtful. What's really happening here is allowing the head unit to power cycle without disconnecting the battery and having to wait. Dead sections of your screen are likely not a computer lockup, more likely a hardware failure.
My screen does goes black and switches on when it feels like it. Can anyone please advice me on what to do?
If the reset in the video doesn't correct your issue, then likely the firmware of your entertainment unit needs to be re-loaded, or the module itself replaced. This is very much a trained tech job, not something to be done at home.

No, sorry, nothing quick and easy outside of this. If your screen continues to power down or restart then the next step is to try reloading its firmware, which requires an often expensive interface to perform. If that fails, it would mean replacing the entertainment unit itself.
I have the exact same thing happening with mine. Did you find a solution?
How about not functioning the touch screen of a Headunit
You can try power cycling, but if that doesn't work, it usually means the head unit gets replaced.
How do you remove the yellow thing to check on the fuse
That is what I need to know too
Did you find out how to remove the yellow thing?
Amigos, descubrieron como se quita la cosa amarilla , gracias
The two fuses should be removable without removing the yellow jacket.
Any chance this might help with a screen that has display but doesn't detect touch? 🙃
Mitsubishi Canada cheated us out of coverage (by dragging their asses on getting us an appointment in the last 3 weeks of our warranty) and now they tell us its $1600 to replace the damn thing. 🙄
If the capacitive touch layer stops responding, it can ONLY be the following : hardware layer (the capacitive touch layer connected to the module), the receiving module (hardware, firmware, software). There's nothing else to worry about as all else would cause major issues with other functions outside of the touch screen. If disconnecting main battery and waiting 15 minutes doesn't correct your touch screen issue, the problem is entirely localized to the unit itself. They really have no grounds to deny you warranty, but if they persist, demand to speak to the dealerships ombudsperson. They'll probably shit themselves the moment you ask.
@@johnsimpson7835 way back when this happened (last year) the dealership told us to email Mitsubishi Canada corporate, who of course never replied. I didn't realize they'd have an ombudsperson... I guess I have some follow up l to look to do. 😉
We will try your suggestion of disconnecting the main battery first, though, to see if that does anything. There are hundreds of us in North America alone with this issue - largely 2020 but I'm seeing 2021 as well. Facebook and Reddit groups full of people with the same issue... I'm seeing complaints about the same year RVRs as well.
Como sacar la cosa amarilla !!!
what a legend man its worked 🫡🫡
