    Man I love this build can't wait to see it running. I also want to do a toyota hilux axle swap on my sierra sj80. Love your build sir.

      Same here! Haha. Spend your time researching how to get the suspension geometry right and have a go at it. It's not hard, just time consuming and costly.

    I have done similar but I used wheel studs with the spline to bite in the casing, then tacked as you have, never had a problem. Is there enough room to weld a plate that curves to mate up with the lower one each side of the carrier.
    I am actually looking forward to seeing this used in anger, I am looking to book a break to come see your beautiful country and see the offroad scene, as I have had two holidays cancelled saving to do New Zealand, Australia, then the US for the Mint 400 or Baja 1000, where I am looking to hire a Baja Designs buggy to race this will be my holiday of a lifetime as I have not had a break since 1998, and been promising myself this holiday for fifteen years now, last one before I retire and be an pensioner lol and slow down and play bingo and smell of piss and oranges NOTTTT.

      Nice, wheel studs are a clever idea. I'm looking forward to using it in anger... not looking forward to cleaning it and fixing it afterwards haha. Sounds like an awesome holiday for sure! The Mint 400 is a good time, Baja 1000 is amazing but alot of work to follow. So much wheeling to do in Aus, we have some good stuff to see here that is fairly easily accessible.

      @@OffroadAddictionTV The wheel stud idea came when I had to borrow a diff it had bigger bolt holes we had a right size drill bit but no tap and no studs o bolts the right size but had a couple of sets of wheel studs. Helps being a lateral thinker.

    Being light weight plus boost and mud treps, I doubt you will have to beat on it to get places like you do with bigger heavier trucks.

      Let's hope so but those mud treps like to break things haha

    should have used patrol axles

    • @OffroadAddictionTV
      @OffroadAddictionTV  3 года назад

      Should have, GU axles aren't the cheapest and I had only planned to run 35s. Would have still had to gusset and truss the housing either way and would have had less ground clearance.
