Yes sir those old tamiya promotional videos is what done it for me i would go to the hobby shop and just watch those videos for hours in 81 I was 11 my mom got me the SUBARU brat for my 12 birthday changed my life 😀 great video the rough rider is a icon my favorite off road rc well done thanks for sharing 👍
duuuuuude the subaru brat and the monster beetle, I cant decide between the two of which I like watching more! oh man if I couldve had a hobby grade by 12 I maybe wouldve blown my head of in excitement, do you rememeber the name of the hobby shop? Your custom fighting buggy is even cooler, I cant decide if i like you scorpion or your fighting better lol
@@rexrcs I think it was pinnelliss hobbies in pinnelliss Square mall in pinnelliss Park FLA. I would go with the monster beetle it's much more capable yea the rough rider and the scorpion are my favorite buggies but the scorpion is a better jumper great video bro keep up the good work 👍👍
Same to me I was 12 yo and my father brought it back from England since it was not available in France. The box was huge and heavy! So much fun building and driving. Every 10 runs in dirt or water, I use to completely disamtle/clean/grease the car !
Come on rex really pinnelliss square mall was the mall I grew up in I lived in 76 Ave apartments I went to pinnelliss Park elementary and middle school, lunch special potato turbate 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey Rex - hat's off to you, brother! Such a fine and well presented video, I totally agree with all your points about this classic buggy from Tamiya. The background info was just perfect and really helped to explain the history of this vehicle. On a side note, you can really see the influence this buggy has had on the new Blockhead Motors Wild One! Top work and awesome slomo footage, dude! I'm sure this video will push you over the 500 subs milestone in no time! :O)
Mark! thank you for filling my needy void for feedback lol. I really wanted to share my emotion towards the vehicle rather than a specification review, i hope you shared the feeling. Are you getting a blockhead wild one? I cant believe almost 500 people are subscribed to me! its insanity! I didnt have any expectations but I also didnt think it would take any less than a full year to get 500 subscribers, I honestly started uploading videos for myself, however honing and improving my video presenting skills slowly, its becoming something that many people seem to enjoy and that makes me super happy, because all im doing is something I love sooooooo much! thank you brother for your good chi
@@rexrcs Sure did share the feeling with you, Rex! Oh yeah, my Blockhead is pre-ordered, curtesy of the ELF!!!! I wouldve assumed you were more into rc than a year, Youve got a great mix of cars, Im glad you enjoyed this one, keeps your eyes open on marketplace! these will be worth a lot in the future

Still no midnkight pumpkin video dude? lol I'll keep buggin ya till its up hahaha. glad you enjoyed it enough to tell me again man, I love comments, im needy
Great footage. I had a buggy champ when I was a kid. It was a gift from my parents. I learned a lot about how cars work by building this kit. Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore, but it is a very nice RC.
NO DOUBT! I learned about suspension tuning directly from rc in the beginning, I am sad to hear that you no longer have your buggy champ, thank you for having a conversation with me!
My tamiya Rough Rider made it through the years. Evrything is in xlt shape. Just the translucide box got yellow and rubber protective switch is now crusty. Learned a lot on real car mechanics with my rc car. Sorry you lost yours.
Hey Pugs! thanks man for the feedback, I don't know if you guys like it unless you let me know! I see that my older music playlist seems to get more love, so now I know that, I'll increase the ratio of old to new music! It honestly makes me happy to hear you went back to a simpler moment, because that is a feeling that I pursue while playing with my rc's and nothing can beat the feeling of being at ease, thanks for having a conversation with me

I’ve always loved the buggies since I saw them as a kid . Fantastic video mate. If you like off-road I recommend researching the Paris Dakar👍 I’m off to look at the mint 👍 Cheers buddy
Super cool video! For me these buggies are what got me into RC. I looked at the 7.2V SRB's in the early 80's but got a used 6V Holiday Buggy instead as it gave longer run time and was cheaper for my first RC car. I even still have that first Tamiya and I bought the re-release Buggy Champ when that came out for nostalgic reasons and because it is still an amazingly scale realistic RC buggy.
Thanks Haydad! I may have finally found one format I can make videos in and be consistent, before this I was all over the place, still finding my spot in youtube cheers brother for having a conversation with me

Hey Rex - You got it right. What's the point of owning and running a Tamiya SRB unless you run it thorough deep water puddles. My son plays with my 30 year old kit on rainy days, and just hoses it down afterward. It's exactly as I built it all those years ago, including radio gear. Still no corrosion, leaks, nothing. My son's 16 now, so maybe it's time to put it back up in the attic. Maybe my grandchildren will get to splash it about in another 25 years time!
