REX RC's
Канада
Добавлен 25 дек 2007
My name is Rex and this is my RC channel
I like playing with RC's and messing with things, tuning, etc. I've been in the hobby for 20+ years, spent much of that inside an actual hobby shop with access to a plethora of models throughout the years. I use to ignore Tamiya, now Im discovering all they have to offer
MOST of my videos are driven and filmed by myself alone. Videos are filmed on my cell phone (iphone XR and now iphone 14), edited on my cell phone, and uploaded from my cell phone, and best viewed on a cell phone. Once in a while I’ll use a gopro session 5
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

One more thing, it's your master piece you decal it up they way you want, and if you ask me, YOU NAILED IT Ralphie
When deciding a paint scheme I chose my colors and after cutting out the body i save the big scraps to run tests on the color and the sheen of the finish. Second time I've watched and found some more great tips from you and the best part is your knowledge of the modal at hand. I don't race so the setup of my modals is what's suggested in the manual. keep it up my brother this vid works for me THANKS
Speed run challenge ready!!! Are you in?
I have an original 1986 Tamiya Blackfoot. 2016 Blackfoot. 3 Clod Busters 1987 Super and Grey. Monster Beetle 🪲 LunchBox Midnight Pumpkin. I am not done yet. Got my first buggy. The VQS.
excellent job
So much detail. Nice video
I love that RC drifting is getting more popular :D I hope some day I go back to Canada we can drive some RCs together 😊 glad to see you and the channel is doing well
Well, you are going to need it, POOR BOYS SPEED CHALLENGE!!! On that bad Chassis right there! Same cover as well.
Best beauty shots I've seen from this model. Nice work 👍
Thanks for the feedback
Definitely fun to watch! In the end, it's a Hobby, and should be as fun as possible.... So enjoy the "ROLL"!! I've got the same body on my FF-03 Evo. If you haven't tried that Chassis, you SHOULD. It's turned a few FWD haters into lovers!
The roll was the best part 😍. Although a fwd 1/10 non m chassis touring car is low on my list of wants, i have respect for them
Love the M-08..... STILL want a M-07.... probably will never be able to afford one. Really like that 2002 body! HPI does bodies well. IF I were to get a M-08..... I've already decided on a Datsun 510 body. I actually drove the real one in SCCA.... about a thousand years ago!! 😮😮 You're right, tracks NEED all of our support they can get. However, NO drivers would want my old, crippled butt out there as a Marshall! 😋😂🤣😆 Rex, you do help a lot of people with your tuning tips. I'm not sure you hear that often enough. YOU helped me win my first A Main, in M-Chassis, with my M-05! So thank you.
Thanks Carm! I personally would say the m08 is a bit tougher to handle ( very agile) on surfaces that arent super high grip, the m07 work quite well in comparison on a variety of surfaces. I have just as much fun though with my m05 and my m06! I appreciate the compliments from somebody who gives great tips themself!
😍 cool ! Was it sliding better in the first video ? Or do you think the bigger pinion is the way to go like in this video ?
It was sliding more in the first video for sure but a bit less easy to handle. A bigger pinion allowed me to slow down the initial wheelspin which made it easier to handle at lower speeds, however once the motor revved up it would spin the wheels a lot faster making it less forgiving on throttle
@@rexrcs yeah i get you i have the fiat 131 kit i need to build soon with the sport tuned motor and id like to set it up similar to your escort I’ll try it with the standard pinion first and if it slides around like your first video of the escort I’ll probably leave it that way im always up for a challenging rwd 😄
@@STUCUTZO keep me posted!
Great video. I’m just getting interested in RC. I’m thinking of getting this as a starter. What radio do you recommend for the lunchbox? Thanks.
Congrats on entering a fun world! The linch box is a classic “fun” incapable toy that will bring loads of silly laughs, and building it allows a dynamic level you just dont get with ready to run vehicles. Radio? Depends, if youre looking for long term Id suggest a medium to high end radio that will allow you to further adjust future vehicles. However if we want to keep it simple I’d just get a $40-$80 radio for this one first time rc.
@@rexrcs awesome, thanks!
This is what I had been waiting for! Awesome video!
Glad you liked it!
i love my Mini. Right now I'm racing my M07R but I also have a M08R. I'm very thankful for your setup tips. I would just wish I would have a track nearby again to go testing.
Hey Rex! I enjoyed hearing about the tuning etc. It takes time for all these details to sink in for me :). Now to apply! Cheers And Pizza Pocket.
Mmmmm. Pizza pocket
I've put the exact same body on my M06. With my M06 I put 3Racing shocks on it and came with a selection of springs. I found the 3Racing shocks are a lot smoother than the kit Tamiya shocks.
Hello, could this mf01x chassis compete with a tt01 chassis in a rally competition?
Using lipo battery
Exactly the mf01x beetle rally
They are quite different, I think the TT-02 is a general use type of vehicle but anything can be tuned to fit your driving style. The mf-01x can has a type of chassis that lends well to keeping clean as oppose to the TT-02’s tub design which catches a lot of debris. With that being said the mf-01x is a mini chassis and I find it has a harder time soaking up bumps due to the wheel size. However I have videos on my channel of mf-01x rally in both 4wd and rwd, see of you can find them I had great fun with it. As far as handling goes, the mf-01x has a very stable rear end and os much more forgiving when using power over techniques to slide the rear end around and steer with the rear wheels, as oppose to the TT-02 with its motor farther forward. For competition I can really say which is better as I have not yet tried to create a competition level TT-02 rally car. I feel that the TT-02 would be much more plush in the rough due to its wheel size, however you can also run larger “standard” wheels on the mf-01x. Being that youre specifically saying the beetle, which is the long wheelbase version of the chassis its very stable and forgiving but tends to have understeer unless you use power over technique to steer. At this moment in time I wouldnt be able to decide between the two… The tt-02 is much easier to work on and maintain. Check out my mf-01x rally videos, I show how i modifed the chassis to create more suspension travel. Also I have multiple TT-02 porsche videos where i show how i modified it to have more suspension travel and get it ready for the rough off road as well. Cheers! Let me know how you get on
You can hear the tire scrub noise.
Great driving and a very cool looking body shell. It’s amazing how much goes into setting up a car to drive well. Thanks for sharing.👍
Nice to see Mini's getting some love. Great watch, thanks.
Thanks for sharing. The awesome bodies are a big reason I love m chassis. I feel like the racing aero shells take away some of the fun.
Although I do love the new push of aerodynamics in rc I agree, realistic bodies are my favourite 👌
I would break more parts than that out there for sure! LOL! It looked great running around out there and I do like the body on there a lot!
Cheers to realistic bodies!
This video was awesome brother. We just recently lost our indoor office road carpet track. If you keep posting content like this, your channel will blow up. Speaking success into existence for you buddy.

Rex is back!

Great BMW body shell, lovely!
Love your content, over the last few years they've been inspirational+enjoyable. Thanks. Flippn screws!!happens to us all😂🏴
RC ice racing. That's an excellent idea. Ice racing in real life is really fun to do. I never thought about doing it in RC form. You guys might have started something.
Thanks 👍
The Lunchbox is just FUN...! From it's bouncy "don't take me seriously" ride & handling manners, to the way you can carry it by it's front bumper--like a lunchbox!--down to the truly "entry level" low cost for a DIY kit-build version, it's more hot-dogging fun than a frankfurter on a nice summer day... for kids AND adults!😁
Great run Rex! That looked a lot of fun! The BBX looks right at home on that terrain. This is probably my favourite of Tamiyas more recent releases...... I've nearly pulled the trigger on one a few times, but the price is extremely high here in rip off Britain. Maybe one day! 👍 👍 👍
Shame on the pricing
As a boy back in the day my uncle had one of these. He didn't let me use it. Now I'm 43 and I got one, I showed it to my uncle and told him he can kiss my ass now. We both had a laugh
🤣
Thank's I just got mine for $255 US but didn't know it was that high tec glad I caught this video very informative I want the slipper clutch so I'll look for one today. I knew it was a real racer not a toy but as I said did not know it is so high tec. Perfect video. Ralphie
Slipper clutch not needed my friend, Id recommend the gear differential over the slipper clutch
THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER WITHOUT THE MUSIC
🤩🎬GREAT VIDEO🎬🤩 I’m glad I found your channel & I MOST DEFINITELY look forward to seeing MORE of your videos🔔 📺 I do mostly TRANSFORMER Stop Motion 🎬📸🎞️ I hope you enjoy my animation‼️ 1:04
The only problem with that Model is why did the company use the old design of a buggy it’s 2024 and still old school with modern upgraded parts, kudos to the alien key screws though
Agressive music, agressive driving. I love it!
It loves you back
Too expensive in the Uk for what it is .I’ve still yet to see a 2wd buggy that looks as good as the old school buggies or runs better than a DT02
DT-02 is pretty awesome, however I have found the open diff to be a bit of a set back on loose surfaces, and the ground clearance just isnt there if you want to keep great handling, I’ll revisit the DT-02 on sand in the future. Whats the BBX price in the UK?
@@rexrcs I lifted mine on twin 90mm crawler truck shocks on the rear and 80’s on the front then narrowed it like the sand scorcher track width. home built rear drive shafts and fitted The scorcher body .looks like a scorcher but outruns it in every way .but I do swap it with the sandrover body at times if I’m on the beach with it. I lock the diff on sand it’s easy enough to do …they’re £320 plus quid here which for a tamiya kit is too much for me .
Nice run with the BBX Rex! It looked super cool out on the sand and it looked right at home plowing through it! Loved the aggressive track with it as well!!!
Thanks 👍 I shouldve filmed the entire session instead of just 10minutes 🤦🏻♂️
@@rexrcs sometimes the no -recorded times are the most fun and enjoyable though! No thought process and trying to film just you and the buggy!
@@AddamsPlayground truth
I just finished mine, there’s a third flood light in the kitchen, but I haven’t figured out where it goes?
Hmmm, I think it might be a spare?
@@rexrcs sorry for the typo, kit not kitchen 🤦♂️ It’s a bonus light for the future. 🙂
@@tomcook5813 yep, bonus! Ive used many spares on other kit builds, they’ve come in handy
Don Johnson music, nice 80s vibe
I would so be tempted to put the body on backwards to mess with other drivers 😂
Hmmmm, thats a great idea to mess with people
Wicked! I think it is my favourite
Good choice!
Building mine this week. Copying your color scheme 😊 What motor/pinion are you using?
4000kv motor on stock gearing, not super fast but fast enough
