thank you for visiting my channel! yes sand scorcher is a true vintage, I recommend you get one, since it is not as pricy as it was in those 80s compared to other hobbies or even other RC cars!
Superb model, I like the older vintage Tamiya models, I had the original Super Sabre, I reluctantly sold it! 😔 Thankfully I picked up a 2008 'vintage' Acme RC Bullet 4wd brushless 1/10th buggy which needs a light restore. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another vintage RC creator?
Hehe, love it! This was the first RC car I ever saw way back in the 80's, when I had no money. I bought one last xmas and still haven't built it yet, nor have I built the Unimog I got at the same time! Well, these days I have at least 27 other RC cars/trucks to look after and take for walks etc . . . 😁 Also gliders . . . 😁
@@HumbleVintageRC Ah no, I already had 25 others by then. And I actually purchased a Sand Scorcher twice. in 2021 I got myself one, but gave it away at Xmas to my nephew who had just started an engineering course at Uni. Heh, dunno why I thought he needed something to do! 🤔
What a beautiful sight! An original Sand Scorcher in action! Great stuff mate and loving the camber angle on the rear! Mine has more bouncy suspension then yours you must have oil in the dampers? Mine just leak too much on the rear now lol l don't bother. The Sand Scorcher so iconic! Totally legendary!
thank you bro! no mine is empty also^^ guess my spring became weaker? anyway this rear camber is something you cant live without it once you get to know its fun!^^
thank you for the comment! yest I agree, at first sight when I was very young, I really didn't know the value of it, but as it gets older I start to realize it's a genious design and love to real 80s buggies!
thank you! and thank you for noting the wheel position^^; the bodies are not original tamiya, but a parma beetle lexan body. I love this lexan body because it ia a direct replacement for tamiya bodies, and I can bash with it for many many years^^ (however front nose is a tamiya^^)
@@HumbleVintageRC Thanks, I've looked it up. The Parma ones are not made anymore (for now) and therefore quite expensive. Hmm, sometimes prices protect me from what I want… ;)
actually no break, left upper arm fell of and the spring was broken...actually broken...it was hard to believe this recoil spring can be broken...so I replaced the recoil spring and damper to more modern one. will have chance to run that some time^^
To this day, one of the coolest and most iconic RC cars
Many thanks!!!
i had a sand scorcher back in the 70s I wish I could afford one now, my fav of all time

Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe
Thank you so much for your compliment!
Hi, who is making these bodies, please?
(rear tires are mounted in the opposite direction)
Good eye!
Tamiya still sell the bodies.
