this was a hit for the Oak Ridge Boys back in the early 1980's !!!
Home Free never does a bad song, just depends on which mood you are in on a given day. Definately look towards My Church, In The Blood or Hillbilly Bone. So excited to see both my favorite groups on here with you guys.!!!!
Those are 3 of my favorites!
Luv it when the younger generations honor the great bands from yesterday. This was an unexpected treat. Thanks for ur reaction, I would have never seen this w/o y'all. Yes, Silver is the Lone Ranger's horse and after restoring law and order in an old west town out witting the bad guys he'd yell out Heigh-ho (or Hi-yo) Silver away! Silver would rear up and then gallop off at lightening speed.
All these recs are awsome. But my favorites are “in the blood” a john mayer cover and “take me home country roads” the john denver cover
My daughter is a preschool teacher, and when it's music time for her 3 - 4 year-olds, this is their favorite song. They make her play it again and again...and dance until they're so exhausted they fall down in the floor! If this song and The Oaks and Home Free are favorites of 3-year-olds today, that means the song and these great performers will still be remembered in the 22nd century!
Experience Home Free singing "God Blessed Texas". ... Guy
ORB 101---The Oak Ridge Quartet was formed in 1947 as a Southern gospel group. The focus had changed by the mid-1960's, when the first of the current members joined the renamed Oak Ridge Boys. Joe Bonsail (mustache) is the lead singer. Duane Allen (blond) is the tenor. William Lee Golden (beard) sings baritone. Richard Sterban sings bass. "Elvira," their signature song, was released in 1981. The song's name was borrowed from a street in Nashville.
This was a popular country song that was sung by the Oak Ridge boys back in the '80s. I liked this version of it better. The beatboxing is insane, he is soo good. Some people say that Home Free is like a younger Oak Ridge Boys, so I'm glad they got to do this with them. Home Free also did a collab with Don McLean for the 50th Anniversary of his song "American Pie", another oldie, but goodie song you should definitely check out.
For another great clap and stomp and dance along song from Home Free react to Hillbilly Bone. Even the original artist Blake Shelton posted that this version was Awesome!
The Oak Ridge Boys passed the torch to Home Free. Great Reaction! Home free has so many amazing songs. As well as collaborations. Check out Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens and Tim Foust.
That was a hot song ! "HIyo, Silver! Away!" was the cry of the masked Lone Ranger at the start of every episode of his show on his horse, Silver.
Home free - all about the bass! So funny!!
Home Free is the counter part to the Oaks!! 2 generations showing each other their stuff!! Geoff Kastelucci of Voice play helped with this arrangement!! They’ve become good friends & have appeared together!! Great reaction!!
,
Close spelling, Geoff Castellucci and you should hear his cover of 16 tons and Take me Home , Country Road, have the volume turned up
Steve Everett Thanks for the spell check! He has an amazing voice! I’d love to hear him cover” Big, Bad John”!!
Love the song and the reaction!
Oh no oh no...say it ain't so !!
You talked & sang right over the LOWEST & BEST note of the Entire song !!!
Great reaction. We love our Home Free Guys
You should check them singing this live...its so fun....they get all the fans involved! FYI.. Hi O' Silver Away comes from an old western show....The Lone Ranger...Silver was the name of his horse! I'm sure neither of you are old enough to know that!
You beat me to it, I am old enough to remember! Been singing Elvira since the 80's but this version just puts out so much awesome sound - love it! and the reaction, thanks!
"Hi ho Silver away!" is from the opening shots of an old Saturday morning serial TV show called "The Lone Ranger". Silver was the name of the Lone Ranger's stallion that galloped across the screen carrying the masked man know as the Lone Ranger. I think it may have been originated for movie theaters. The was a bunch of them In the 50's. "Sky King", "My Friend Flicka", "Superman" and "Lassie" to name a few.
awesome.....love this group...
Love you new Home Fries! The Oak Ridge Boys are legends! They approached Home Free about doing this and have been very supportive of our guys!
Loving the Home Free reactions! Keep em coming! The Butts Remix is a good one!
I love this one!! Another awesome cover is Take Me Home, Country Roads!
HOME FREE did this song at a concert I went to, it was fun as they involved the audience.
Bit of a Bass battle !!
Hey guys Hope you both are well Whoo hoo keep bringing on the Home Free Love the video and your reaction as always Adam Rupp is doin the beatboxing ( The freak of nature) May I suggest Dreamer ( a Home Free original) and Champagne taste on a beer budget ( written by Tim Foust- bass) God Bless
Thank you! You as well Christine!
Thanks Christine..!! We will definitely get those on...
Legendary
What a party! 😄 Now you need to continue with their "Hillbilly Bone"! An even bigger party!!
You ought to do the Butts remix.
I heard it originally by the Oak Ridge Boys live in Concert and love it still and how the collaborated with Home Free to so it and put a new spin on it
The name Elvira for this song was actually from a street name and not a specific person, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a specific person inspiring the song itself. Great reaction to a great cover of a great song! Home Free does this live on their own and it's almost as good as this.
Home Free: 7 Bridges Road
That was fun!! They did a Christmas song with the Oak Ridge boys too. They do a song with Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Don McLean and Lee Greenwood too. Great reaction Badd Boyz!
If you'd like to hear more of Home Free & the Oak Ridge Boys, you may want to check out "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" from Home Free's Christmas special. The Oaks were guests on the show & they did the song together along with Jeffrey East. I know it's not Christmas time, but it is an amazing song. Loving your HF reactions.
It's amazing how Adam actually sounds like a drumkit.
Great reaction guys. Check out Home Free's version, of the Eagles, Seven Bridges Road. By the way, Silver was the name of the Lone Rangers horse. He would jump on his back, and say, "Hi Ho Silver, Away"!
Oak ridge is in Tennessee
going from when the song came out, I've always wondered if they meant THE Elvira (Cassandra Peterson)
Awesome reaction to an awesome song 😊. Home free has made me start liking country music...but maybe only when they're in it 🤣
Could you do "The Butts Remix", "Thinking Out Loud/ Let's Get It On", " In The Blood ", Blue Ain't Your Color", "Folsom Prison Blues"," How Great Thou Art"and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" Thank you very much! Glad to have y'all in the family and yes y'all are definitely Home Fries! Oh btw I know that it isn't Christmas but listen to " Snow Globe" written by Tim Foust the bass. I think you might get a surprise! It's one of my favorites at anytime of the year!
