Animations like this make me want to see the whole plot adapted into a proper spin off show. Although I love the OG series but seeing the shows taking place in the actual game canon is a treat.
At the very least we've gotten canonical miniseries ever since gen 6 and honestly those are really great. Like I'm a fan of the regular anime but I mostly just see it as entertainment and not much more, miniseries like Twilight Wings and Hisuian Snow kinda feel like art pieces to me
I think being able to have multiple animated projects is good, because they have something for everyone. Though I would love if they eventually get to do another full miniseries. Like how Origins was 4 whole 22 minute episodes.
@@GatorEX I think part of why this may not have been done since Origins is because of how high budget the miniseries seem to be, because of the quality of the animation. It's probably why every miniseries afterwards mostly just has episodes of a few minutes. I think the thought process might be to make the episodes shorter so that there can be more episodes. That's not to say that the main anime isn't well animated though, Journeys actually looks really good and has some really fluid animaion at times. It's just that it's obviously of a lower budget because they have to make like 40-50 episodes a season
I remember watching the BW2 one a bunch before the game's release. These trailers and Pokemon Generations should be how the anime is presented imo, or at least it would get me to watch for the first time in many years
Imaging seeing brendan and mega sceptile fighting zinnia and mega salamence at sky pillar that would be cool to show a new never before seen character that actually contributes to the story while also showing off a new mega
Loved these retrospective videos on alternate Pokemon media! You really need to catchup on the Adventures Manga, and especially do a review of the Gold/Silver/Crystal chapter (the video on the Red/Blue/Green chapters was fantastic). I consider it the definitive adaptation of what Pokemon's story is over the games and anime (at least through the first few series).
Truly. They sadly feel like one of those aspects the community just leaves to time despite how excited they make everyone when they come out. I remember the days when everyone was clamoring for the BW2 ones to become a full series, iirc there were a couple petitions lol. Man where does the time go?
Compared to the others it's an interesting design choice that out of all the pokemon protagonists Rosa and Nate ( other than the missing bags) are the most prepared for long journeys. It's an interesting detail Rosa even wears a swimsuit underneath her clothing.
I love the bw2 trailer. I'm not hating on the anime, but it makes me wonder if they implemented this art style in the main pokeani series. Would have been so cool
I've always loved that Black & White 2 trailer, I remember always going onto the 3ds eShop just to rewatches it. When the games came out I even modeled my team after the pokemon Nate used in the trailer.
I adore the mini series like Origins and Twilight wings because of how high quality it is, every frame is a gift to your eyes, but tbh the horrible animations of the Ash Ketchum series has given us a lot of meme worthy content and for that reason it leaves a special place in my heart. (But seriously suprised pikachu face is just *chefs kiss*). Edit: Also, the non Ash Ketchum seires also does voice acting really well, Bea had s much soul and emotion in Twilight wings but sounds like a man baby in Journeys 💀
@@Twinklestar16a Well you can't say the regular anime is good. It's just that Origins is something fans wanted for a long time. Honestly, it's better than the repetitive mess of seeing Ash lose the league again and again and reset his progress just to do the same thing again in a new region.
I honestly wish we got more trailers more often. I know it’s a bit much to ask for trailers along side web shows but god I just love these three trailers so much.
I am reminded of a trailer for... something Pokemon related. It was all 3D graphics and had a bunch of trainers battling in an open rocky area. And Lorelei froze like, four Pokemon and their trainers all at once and the comments section was of course filled with "Those people are dead" comments. Was never sure what it was for. Either the TCG or a mobile game I don't recall.
Would’ve been neat if they kept it up. But at least with Sword and Shield, we got Twilight Wings, which was probably even better. Just that we didn’t get to see much of Victor and Gloria.
It's incredible how the most recent trailer (at the time of writing this comment) for the Pokémon TCG is more beautiful and has more careful animation than any moment in the anime of the franchise.
The B2W2 trailer I loved. While they were all good, ORAS was largely just showing new megas and a small taste of adventure to be had, and Masters just does well enough to sell the concept for the game and that's it. The all do look incredible though.
One of my problems with the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire trailer is that it only showed the Mega's that were introduced in those games, Mega Blaziken being the exception. It didn't bother with the other Mega's that were introduced in X and Y which means they never got an animated trailer to hype them up. Also, my girl Courtney was completely absent. That's a damn crime. She could have just been standing with Tabitha behind Maxie as he Mega Evolves his Camerupt, tilting her head curiously as she looks at the kid brave enough to defy Team Magma.
I remember when the b2w2 trailer came out and how badly I wanted a whole anime purely styled like that. The day never came:( /EDIT: specifically of gen 5. Like as it's own little thing or something
Despite the mega showcase in the ORAS trailer being kinda meh, Mega Lopunny’s scene was really fun. It’s always awkward when I say that I like Lopunny for obvious reasons, but the mega is just so cool and giving Lopunny the fighting type makes it much stronger.
8:50 reeeee that dragon pulse shouldn't have missed because of mega pideots no gaurd ability reeeee On a serious note these animations are cool as hell lol
These were some very interesting Trailers in my opinion, I think you covered these pretty well and I can understand your opinions about them, i wonder what we’ll get next, i guess we’ll see. By the way, what do you think a more faithful Anime Adaptation of the Games would’ve been like?
Of course it would. The trailers are far shorter than an anime episode. They have more time and budget to work on a short. An anime has to spread its budget along the whole season.
Yes and no. Closer to the official art. I'd argue the art is better and is what the web series become, so why should that matter? and then no, the animation is better in the first one. Also just a loooot more of it and more detail as well.
where Mega Flygon could of been I'm sorry this was Gf biggest fall from grace for Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby what could of been ;~; but still amazing trailers that really aged well still holding up to this day.
Question: exactly how old are the Black/White 2 protags supposed to be, cause in this animated trailer they look like they can’t be a single day younger than freak’n 19…
@@praggodey alright, a little younger than I would have guessed, but that still seems a bit oddly old to be getting a starter Pokemon and starting a Journey, at least by the standards of the Pokemon universe that had come to be expected by this point. I know people joke all the time about 10 being way to young to go off on your own and travel around, but idk, I guess I'm just so used to "getting their starter Pokemon" being something that Pokemon-world inhabitants do as a child, not a teenager...seeing someone who genuinely looks like they are only a few inches shy of being six feet tall going to get their *starter* Pokemon just looks weird to me...

Black 2 White 2 are the best trailers. Not just animated trailer, the best pokemon trailer in general. Period. No pokemon trailer has ever come close to that level of epicness and hype!
It really does suck they don't do these animated trailers more, like I fully expected one for both Gen 8 and Gen 9 but they didn't get squat. But at the very least Gen 8 did get the Twilight Wings series and the Hisiuian anime too, so I hope they can do something cool this gen as well
The black 2 and white 2 animated trailers are my all time favorite.
Can’t even count how many times I watched it when it first came out.

Pokemon Adventures is prime material for adaptation

Same here. Whenever I start specific cutscenes in game, I'd bring up the trailer to correspond. Colress' scene always gave me goosebumps. X3

Fun fact all the key frames for the masters trailer was drawn by one person, Masaaki Iwane

The "Black 3 and white 3 or we riot" is funny to slip in 2:23
the animations deserve so much more attention. They are fantastic
The ORAS one is the most viewed video on the pokemon youtube channel.
Really wish we would get more ovas or full series based in the games with this kind of animation

Dude that Snake is dead. The timing was perfect 😂😂
Are we just going to ignore how Nate has Arcanine, Emboar, and a Lucario in his team? ☠
What about it?
The BW2 animated trailer is a real hype back then. It's the reason why I often skip classes just to play Black2 at home.
If they were to go the route of adapting stories of Pokemon Adventures in the animation style for the BW2 trailer, that would be awesome.
Oooh, that’d be neat. Yeah, I honestly think Adventures deserves like a miniseries.
@@GatorEX Agreed, at least major plot points that defer from the games like the backstory with Green.
How are you not gonna talk about the origins of Colress’s classic “However.. I DISAGREE”
Poketoons are the peak of animation of pokémon
By the way in the bw2 trailer cheren is voiced by sonic
As a big gen 6 fan, the ORAS trailer was nothing short of *GLORIOUS!*
I really like the Black and White 2 trailer. I Lopunny animation alot.
I only seen them through gif but they are peak pokemon animation.
I see you're a man of culture ;)
I remember that Pokémon master marathon lol. Think it was for the lead up to the diamond and pearl anime.

I wish theses were actual anime series such a missed opportunity
Crazy Nate has an Emboar and Arcanine.
0:12 what’s this trailer from?
I really wish they actually adapted the game's story to anime 1-1 like pokemon origins and generations/evolutions, instead of what the main anime does

Please do a video on all the side series that they had! Like generations and the other RUclips ones
Pokemon series should've changed over to an anime style show instead of a cartoon style show a long time ago
