Eri is my favorite of the bunch! She's so beautiful and tall. I love how they decided to reference Pro Wrestling (and possibly Heel Wrestling) with her face-paint. Her sensitive side adds a lot to her character, and I love how she cares so much for her friends.
For Mela, to be fair, Italian for apple IS mela! Meanwhile her Japanese name comes from the Spanish word for peach, melocotón. Also, it's not just the Japanese names that are plant-related, it's the English names as well. Giacomo's name is still related to pineapple, as the scientific name of pineapple is Ananas comosus. Heck, pretty much ALL the characters in this game has a plant-themed name (except Kofu; his name comes from kombu or edible kelp which while plant-LIKE are not plants). For the other Team Star bosses, Atticus comes from the genus Hepatica (liverleaf), Ortega comes from the Spanish and Portuguese word ortiga for nettle, Eri comes from loquat's scientific name Eriobotrya japonica, and the big boss Penny comes from tree peony. Another thing I love about the Team Star squad bosses is they all use a different type of Poké Ball that reflects their personalities! Mela for example uses Quick Balls because of her temper.
The grunt music has this amazing part in the middle that you probably won't even hear in regular gameplay because of how quickly you defeat most of them, Team Stars music is probably my second favourite evil team music

Team Star is my favorite antagonistic team in the franchise. As someone who has been bullied in the past, their story really resonated with me. Also, across every Pokemon game i’ve played, Eri is the only type specialist i have ever lost to. Combine that with her very appealing personality, and she’s an easy choice as my favorite Team Star member.
Team Plasma will always be my favorite team. However I really like the direction that they went with team star. Definitely my favorite since sun and moon.
Something else about Penny's bag is that it hinted that she has an all-Eeveelution team. It's like how Larry's cloud tie hints that the second type he specializes in is Flying (which he specializes in both Normal and Flying to reference how Normal/Flying is the most common type-combination). That being said, man do I love her theme. The fact Giacomo never met Penny until after the final battle with the player but managed to create the ultimate quiet kid boss theme for her is incredible. It's definitely something she'd listen to in her headphones as she's studying. Also, the fact that Team Star was created to stand up to bullying because the staff didn't want to but are the ones portrayed by Clavell as the bad guys is just American schools in a nutshell.
I think Giacomo’s Kingambit is another reason why Geeta doesn’t use her’s last since it’s technically another character’s ace already. I also feel like they missed out on a perfect opportunity to make Grafaiai Atticus’s ace instead of Revaroom
It makes sense why Revaroom is Atticus' ace; Not only did he customize the Squad Leaders' uniforms, he also provided the Revaroom to get the Starmobiles running.
The best evil team we've had to date! Not only do the character designs and unique gameplay go hard, but their story and development really cements them as a staple in the game's main narrative, and also touching on such a sensitive topic as bullying.
One of my personal favourite details regarding Eri that no one seems to point out or outright miss, the "teeth" on her make-up look like tears when she's making sad faces
Eri's design is honestly one of my favorite designs, mostly because her design resembles a pro-wrestler's gear, with the cape being part of an entrance gear, or something like that. Really, the Team Star Bosses has all the best designs.
It wouldn't make much sense storywise as the bosses are punished for not following the dress code and yelled at by director Clavell lol. Maybe making us graduate and then giving the uniforms as well as more character customisation? I can see it happening in the dlc

Eri and Atticus easily became two of my favorite characters from SV, and even the whole Pokémon series. Eri’s strength and tough demeanor contrasted by her kind personality makes her really fun, and then Atticus being a poison representative (poison being my favorite type), being the one to make all these great outfits, and having a fun personality really makes him stand out (he kinda gives me Rouxls Kaard vibes).
i love the designs of the team star bosses so muchh especially eri. they look like the antagonist group from a typical shounen anime that dress flamboyantly but are actually really strong
In regard to your comments regarding how Ortega doesn’t look too good in his art, I’d argue that’s mostly due to posing. The art makes him look as if he’s either looking downwards (Totally inaccurate to how tiny he is), and hides his eyebrows, resulting in his expression looking off. Doesn’t help that he doesn’t have his smarmy grin either. Plus, his general stance makes him look less like a rich kid with an ego, and more like he’s trying to impersonate a Mr. Rime with how he’s holding his cane and pointing his right foot outwards. If the pose was instead like the one they use for his intro in the game, with him pointing the cane towards the camera with his head tilted up, it’d probably look better
i never thought this would happen, but i think the team star bosses are some of my favorite characters in the entire franchise. and team star as a whole is probably my favorite team! their designs are great, their personalities are fun, and their story just really struck a chord with me since i experienced the same sort of injustice from my own school system. it means a lot to see the franchise touching on a topic like that, and doing it so well too. i love knowing that kids going through the same thing that i did will get to look at this story and feel seen, and hopefully comforted by it. p.s. Ortega’s star logo is in his back lol
I have to say that even though his 2D art is less than fantastic, Ortega is my absolute favorite Team Star admin for his design. He's adorable and his short tempered personality does not help. He reminds me of an angry kitten.
A point im shocked you didnt go over for Ortega was that he actually gives a "Rich kid" vibe dressed in a suit and bow tie. His scepter could also be a nod to classic novel/film nobles using a cane. Also hes dressed that way likely to contrast his occupation being the mechanic of the group designing the Starmobiles. I feel his motif is "Looks can be decieving" coming from a rich family but being a mechanic and having a very firey temper but uses fairy type pikemon normally seen by cheerful and happy go lucky trainers. Not to mention i believe.. . .and dont quote me on this but i BELIEVE Ortega is actually the shortest losing to penny by only a slight bit making his big mouth another contrast to him physically
Personally I adore Giacomo. He just dresses so casually compared to the others and it gives off a more laid back look. It's also canon that he wrote all of the Team Star related music, including Penny's theme, which he wrote without even knowing her real name or what she looked like. He just went with a vibe alone.
My favourite costume is attacius, both because it generally goes hard and the fact he took a strip of his white school shirt and sewed it onto his ninja suit so he could say he’s *technically* wearing the uniform. Like, you know it’s not part of the og design, you can see the stitches. And someone like attacius would not do that considering he gave everyone else their drip.
Everthing about this team is oozing with style. Each one of the boss has their own flair to them. Those bullies wouldn't know about good taste if it punched them in the face.
This is a month old but idc. In game, cassiopeia basically tells us that giacomo runs all of team star, which makes sense because he used to be the student council president; while bad at being council president, he still has that leadership skill that the rest are lacking
At first, I was a bit afraid they would be too reminiscent of Team Skull with the whole 'outcast' vibe. But I was pleasantly surprised in the end! I love Team Star and Penny, their designs and personalities are outstanding imo. 👌

Overall, Pokemon Scarlet Violet is so fun, I love how the MC just casually becomes friends with a champion, a team boss, and a professor’s child aha.
The fact that Penny has the ability to be someone so threatening in comparison with the other Evil Team Leaders. Basically she can make their companies go bankrupt and also doxxing every vital information of their operation. The bes part Is that she can do this on her own
With Penny, it's interesting that a lot of art of Cassiopeia has her hair 2 toned like hers. From what I pieced together, Cassiopeia was a vein sea nymph and was doomed to spend eternity in the sky circling the north star as punishment for it, depictions of her tend to show her combing her hair for all eternity.
On the Surface, Team star do seem like just well dressed vigilante delinquents just like teams skull and yell were instead of a buncha criminals like most of the other games had. Then you realize that they are the smartest team outa all the other ones cause these kids literally built giant car tanks outa charcadets and revarooms, even managing to change their fire and steel typing without the use of terestalization. Penny also actually commits legit fraud and theft crimes in the game and doesn't entirely get away with it, mostly cause she admits it... But yea, they also got the most depth of all the other teams too since their quest is very backstory based. Also not gonna lie I think Ortega scares me the most because of how they animate him with that fairy staff, i swear if they actually fought their bullies, he woulda beaten one of em to death with it
Being fair If Penny was Evil she would be terrible, imagine that She could hack the league system Of one of the most important people on the region and transforming their pokemon to another type without terastrilization and having pretty solid people on her comand

I love Team Star as a whole! Each boss and Penny are some of my favourite characters in the series. Also a fun fact, Starfall Street begins and ends with the player meeting/saying bye to Penny at the bottom of the Academy stairs, and I thought it was a nice full-circle in the story. My personal ranking of each of them (from least fav to fav): Atticus, Mela, Giacomo, Ortega, Eri, Penny.

I love the picture of penny with the other evil team leaders at the end. She looks so unassuming but we know she’s capable of taking down at least some of the other leaders in a battle, and the potential to do even more.
Mela gives the impression that there's probably a pair of big boots that actually fit her in her closet She refuses to wear them, possibly to Atticus' grievance since he spent time making those boots for her and she won't wear the ones that fit better

Trying to pause on the subliminal messages is like a fun little mini game that’s unironically one of my favorite parts about watching your videos (even if when I pause “there’s nothing there” 😔)
I am AMAZED that they haven't released Giacomo's hat yet as a real item to buy. I also love how Star isn't evil at all, not even "bad", but Penny still does something worse than Piers has ever done in his entire life (Yell are just "bad guys" for being an intentional public nuisance).
It is a fun idea to have the team's admins (Which the Star bosses are technically) are basically leaders of their own teams. They have their squad they look over and have their designs make them look like they could be Team leaders of their own. Which makes it more hilarious that with some of these that have some intimidating designs are following the orders of a meek girl with glasses and an eevee bag. Definitely want to see them in Masters so that the developers have to pair this team up with the rest.
Could penny’s hair color be in reference to sword and shield. Pokémon shield is red and Pokémon sword is blue on their cover arts. Especially since she is from galar.

Personally I adore Giacomo. He just dresses so casually compared to the others and it gives off a more laid back look.
It's also canon that he wrote all of the Team Star related music, including Penny's theme, which he wrote without even knowing her real name or what she looked like. He just went with a vibe alone.
My favourite costume is attacius, both because it generally goes hard and the fact he took a strip of his white school shirt and sewed it onto his ninja suit so he could say he’s *technically* wearing the uniform. Like, you know it’s not part of the og design, you can see the stitches. And someone like attacius would not do that considering he gave everyone else their drip.

Everthing about this team is oozing with style. Each one of the boss has their own flair to them. Those bullies wouldn't know about good taste if it punched them in the face.

This is a month old but idc. In game, cassiopeia basically tells us that giacomo runs all of team star, which makes sense because he used to be the student council president; while bad at being council president, he still has that leadership skill that the rest are lacking
At first, I was a bit afraid they would be too reminiscent of Team Skull with the whole 'outcast' vibe. But I was pleasantly surprised in the end! I love Team Star and Penny, their designs and personalities are outstanding imo. 👌

I wish I could have drip like Team Star does. 😔 especially Ortega’s cool jacket. I really want his jacket. As for Ortega’s Team Star emblem, I think it’s meant to be the coloring on his hair. Overall, Pokemon Scarlet Violet is so fun, I love how the MC just casually becomes friends with a champion, a team boss, and a professor’s child aha.

The fact that Penny has the ability to be someone so threatening in comparison with the other Evil Team Leaders. Basically she can make their companies go bankrupt and also doxxing every vital information of their operation. The bes part Is that she can do this on her own

With Penny, it's interesting that a lot of art of Cassiopeia has her hair 2 toned like hers. From what I pieced together, Cassiopeia was a vein sea nymph and was doomed to spend eternity in the sky circling the north star as punishment for it, depictions of her tend to show her combing her hair for all eternity.
Really hoping the DLC changes this, especially since they all ended up returning to school and are still allowed to wear their custom clothes.
On the Surface, Team star do seem like just well dressed vigilante delinquents just like teams skull and yell were instead of a buncha criminals like most of the other games had. Then you realize that they are the smartest team outa all the other ones cause these kids literally built giant car tanks outa charcadets and revarooms, even managing to change their fire and steel typing without the use of terestalization. Penny also actually commits legit fraud and theft crimes in the game and doesn't entirely get away with it, mostly cause she admits it... But yea, they also got the most depth of all the other teams too since their quest is very backstory based.
Also not gonna lie I think Ortega scares me the most because of how they animate him with that fairy staff, i swear if they actually fought their bullies, he woulda beaten one of em to death with it
Being fair If Penny was Evil she would be terrible, imagine that She could hack the league system Of one of the most important people on the region and transforming their pokemon to another type without terastrilization and having pretty solid people on her comand

Actually about the whole Atticus and being related to ninjas, it’s stated that he believes he descended from ninjas. But despite I think it’s really cool that he also speaks all Shakespearean like.
I love Team Star as a whole! Each boss and Penny are some of my favourite characters in the series.
Also a fun fact, Starfall Street begins and ends with the player meeting/saying bye to Penny at the bottom of the Academy stairs, and I thought it was a nice full-circle in the story.
My personal ranking of each of them (from least fav to fav): Atticus, Mela, Giacomo, Ortega, Eri, Penny.

I love the picture of penny with the other evil team leaders at the end. She looks so unassuming but we know she’s capable of taking down at least some of the other leaders in a battle, and the potential to do even more.
Mela gives the impression that there's probably a pair of big boots that actually fit her in her closet
She refuses to wear them, possibly to Atticus' grievance since he spent time making those boots for her and she won't wear the ones that fit better
One weird thing is that "Mela" is also Italian for "apple", which could explain the apple-like design... It could, if not because most languages have her name derive from peach
The funny part about this is that apples and peaches are trees in the same family of plants (alongside cherries, roses, plums and almonds).

Trying to pause on the subliminal messages is like a fun little mini game that’s unironically one of my favorite parts about watching your videos (even if when I pause “there’s nothing there” 😔)
I am AMAZED that they haven't released Giacomo's hat yet as a real item to buy.
I also love how Star isn't evil at all, not even "bad", but Penny still does something worse than Piers has ever done in his entire life (Yell are just "bad guys" for being an intentional public nuisance).

It is a fun idea to have the team's admins (Which the Star bosses are technically) are basically leaders of their own teams. They have their squad they look over and have their designs make them look like they could be Team leaders of their own. Which makes it more hilarious that with some of these that have some intimidating designs are following the orders of a meek girl with glasses and an eevee bag.
Definitely want to see them in Masters so that the developers have to pair this team up with the rest.
