  • With light wheels and grippy tires paired with soft bushings and engine mounts, wheel hop is a thing and it can be extremely destructive. In this video, you will see how problematic my control arms are, and how I get around to solving the problem.
    Later in the video where I say the arms nearly fixed it, I was wrong. IT SOLVED IT!! Under load, you’ll see my suspension lift which made me think it was moving. You’ll see what I mean!
    Feel free to take a look at the tools and products I’ve outlined in this video. By purchasing items below, it helps my channel operate and brings more awesome content your ways. Thank you all for your generous support!! 💙

    WOW! I've repaired stuff on cars before and knew wheel hop was a thing, but that wheel hop looks quite extreme! Maybe newer cars have more of a squishy bushing for added comfort. Now I know why my softer tyres wore out so quickly despite proper alignment, balancing and rotation. Thanks for a great video!

      You shouldn't use poly bushings for the compliance bushing due to how the bushing is designed to flex. The stock bushings moves more like a bearing, so poly wouldn't work in that location.

    Hey man great video! Like to ask you a question I have a 8th gen civic si. When I had full stock suspension other then coil overs I had no wheel hop. I changed the control arms and links and ball joints, hardrace very stiff. I also changed my coilovers. Now I have bad wheel hop. I do realize the new coilovers have a softer spring rate. Can that be the problem?

    • @milanmastracci
      @milanmastracci  Год назад +1

      It can be linked to a couple of things. Tire compound / grip, spring rates, bushing durometer / type, etc. Which control arms did you change, and what bushings do they have in them?
