  • This video is again about problem solving in a small kitchen. But the recipe from here can be used for all sorts of small shelves and racks.
I am using reclaimed wood from my small storage corner in the shop. Ah and then you can take a look at my first shot at some stop motion animation, hope you enjoy!

I love the slow-mo at the end! It must have taken quite some time doing it. Also, love the melody you chose for the background. Quite soothing. :)

Very good video. I like the idea of small inexpensive projects that are very useful. Music would have made your stop-motion video better. Don't ask me why, slowed or stopped video is normally presented with music. Blame Disney, I do. Keep experimenting. And fill your home and workshop with these woodworking projects. It's easy, walk around your home/shop/car/office and look for a mess or clutter, and build something to fix it. If it works, and you can't think of how to make it better without much more cost. Then you make one for the video. Here is my vote for an office desk. Two pedistal with drawers thats modular so it's easy to move to your next place. Love the video.

      Hi John!
Thanks :D True, in a way 50% of the reason why I am building the workbench is to finally get order in my shop. For the most part that is where my videos come from, I or someone needs something, I build it and film the process. The funny thing is that the list is getting added to faster than I can build. A desk is a cool idea. As soon as I need one or have space to put it I will build one!
Thanks for the comment and friendly regards :)

Cooler deutscher Woodworking Kanal :). Weiter so!

Danke :D Vllt kann ich mal eine Werkstatt-Tour machen, in der ich alles vorstelle. Dann kann ich etwas ausführlicher über alles sprechen.
      Danke für die Motivation :)

:D nice animation skills and montage ...
Is there an advantage of the rack vs normal shelfs in this scenario?!

Hey, thank you! :D I failed to find out the exact difference between shelf and rack before answering your question, but I´m still not sure, so I will just explain everything.
Why it´s made from bars and not boards: I wanted to use as little wood as possible. And now i like it because I don´t have to worry that it collects dust in that hard to reach and narrow corner under the sink.
Why it´s free standing and not simply screwed to the cabinet: It´s a rental apartment, so I didn´t want to put screws into it but rather have something free standing that i can just take out again. Hope that answers your question :)

What are the dimensions (In particular the thickness and with) of the wooden planks? I have the same problem in my house and i would like to make the same rack!

Hey :) the vertical ones are 20x40 mm, all the others are 20x20 mm. The overall dimensions are 240 mm wide, 420 mm high, 480 mm deep/long in my case. I made it, so that I could just get it around and behind the hinges that stick out on the left side.
