For those who thought that Richard Harris only sung "Mc Carthur's Park" as a joke. Richard was not only a Shakespearean Actor and Oscar Winner, and Albus Dumbledore, but a fantastic singer.
My father was jimmy Webb and Richard Harris s. Attorney (negotiator) once Harris came to an appointment at our house four hours late bombed out of his mind. Thought my father was going to have an embolism. He was the straightest entertainment lawyer (very very very successful). Never saw him have a drink. It was actually hilarious
Absolutely fabulous ! Not only this touching song, but also Richard Harris is one of the best actors in the world. As a singer, his performance is at the top of the hits!
This song sung by the multi talented Richard, must ring bells in hundreds of fathers minds when they hear the lyrics. Those who stayed a d made the best of it. 1.st may 2023.
The magnificent. inimitable, multi-talented Richard Harris. His voice has a yearning quality, no matter what he sings. It touches the depths of your soul and leaves you with a longing...
I had only heard Elvis sing this, but this is also a beautiful rendition. Fabulous voice, I absolutely love M c Arthur Park. He does a fabulous live version
I really like the Novo Bono Jr. (Filipino singer) version. This song was originally a French tune by the name of “Parce que je t’aime mon enfant”, sung by Claude François. The Dutch version, “Mijn zoon”, by Willy Alberti, is also a must.
Great singer.......Elvis did a good cover ....great actor and Mcarthur Park was off the planet.... bought this Album for a girlfriend from years ago.......
Dumbledore, Richard Harris, you were an amazing singer, I really am sad because of your death, especially because I watched every Harry Potter movie, but also cause I’ve seen you and your real life actions, and you were really nice, R.I.P
I remember his beautiful voice & what a magnificient actor he was. He was a legend in Camelot & his last film appearances in Gladiator, & the first 2 Harry Potter movies as Albus Dumbledore, before his death in 2002. Macarther's Park is my Favourite song of his. Loved him.
Albus Dumbledore was a very impressive actor and singer. His passing in 2002 was a great loss to us all.Rest in peace my dear Richard🙏🙏🙏 "Someone asked me once "What is the difference between Tom Cruise now and you when you were a major star?" I said there is a great difference. Look at a photograph of me from the old days and I'm going to one of my film premieres with a bottle of vodka in my hand. Tom Cruise has a bottle of Evian water. That's the difference--a bottle of Evian water"
I remember this originally had A LOT of air play here in the US as an up and coming hit…When it stalled at #41 on the Billboard charts, the song ceased from being played on our A.M. radio dials. Elvis in ‘75 would bring this into the Top 40 but without the original moving feeling heard here.
Assolutamente si, però il fatto è che Elvis era (in generale) talmente carico di patos e di capacità comunicativa che rendeva tutto quello che cantava assolutamente ineguagliabile...Questa versione è bellissima, quella di Elvis irrangiungibile...
Oh. Wow. I had no idea Richard Harris was such a BABE! And that VOICE???? I knew he was a superb actor but this on top of that? It’s like he really IS a wizard!
You know, Richard Harris is my favorite actor of all time, primarily because he starred in the movie Cromwell, but he was so talented on so many levels, I doubt we'll ever see someone with real talent like that ever again
No se si será mejor que la de Elvis pero la canta con un sentimiento tal que sólo un padre en esas circunstancias la podría cantar. En realidad me emociono..
Makes us all shed a tear... beloved Richard Harris, a real titan!
He doesn't just sing, he interprets the song.
It's crazy for me to say but damn this guy sings this song and some others better than someone elvis andy williams glenn campbell 😂 that's crazy
Brings tears to my eyes, No matter how many times i hear it
"The Boy Who Lived"
Respect to Sir Richard Harris, from Turkey.

A joke !.. Mac Arthur's Park ?.
No joke, he teamed up with Jimmy Webb who gave him great songs & the 60s was musically inclusive in the charts. Best decade ever.
One of the all time characters of all time
Loved him as King Arthur in Camelot
Stunning. Pure and simple!
Seeing this for the first time in 2024 I feel perhaps I missed finding that pearl on the beach.
Really, not a 70s child 😂 if so, you were at the beach 😅 his second biggest song, and he got more great songs.
So beautifully said 🥹
@@SB-yl1ng not so well known in France -alas- but I love him since 1968 and McArthurs park, it was really great !
Didn't realise his voice was so good. Magical.
Absolutely fabulous ! Not only this touching song, but also Richard Harris is one of the best actors in the world. As a singer, his performance is at the top of the hits!
I've never heard this song before, I love it. He's definitely singing this from his heart.
Jan, this was also an Elvis Hit. Elvis really 'loved' this song, obviously because of the divorce with Priscilla.
I looked for this version so I could download it to my music. But I could only find Elvis's version. Still good.
@@FrenkSummers Both Elvis and Richard Harris do such a good job with this song.

...from the heart. My thoughts exactly.

I only care about Elvis' and Richard Harris' version of this Song! I think I like them both equal
He and Elvis both have silk voices. Gorgeous
He would be the first person to say that he was a veritable professional alcoholic. Still he functioned magically
I really like the Novo Bono Jr. (Filipino singer) version. This song was originally a French tune by the name of “Parce que je t’aime mon enfant”, sung by Claude François. The Dutch version, “Mijn zoon”, by Willy Alberti, is also a must.

Une voix incomparable , des desendos glissandos à lui seul appartiennent
What a fantastic voice
What a man
Everytime I hear this song I remember of my boy how I raise him
We had this record in the early 80's with my late husband.
Wonderful.
He could sing & McArthurs Park was superb Jimmy Webb song. Of course he had sang on stage & screen with Camelot. Superb.
Sadly missed he can act and he can serenely sing the young musicians should take a leaf out of his book what a voice❤❤❤❤❤
What A wonderful song...
Wow. He sure was a phenomenal singer
I knew he was a film star, didn't realize he could sing too. And very gd this song is.

Real artist. When he sings, has his eyes closed, with gusto, heart and soul... you can feel the emotions...

Forever Mr. HARRIS
He was an excellent actor and a fantastic singer. Listen to him also sing in the movie "Camelot". Such a talented man who is so very much missed.
