I find the Lite to be more worth it for me than the regular switch. I already have a home console, my Xbox, and I’m not interested in many of the local multiplayer games. It’s great for playing Zelda while laying in bed or on the porch. I love it.
I wish Nintendo put the bigger OLED screen on the Switch Lite instead of the normal Switch. I wasn't all caught up in those "Switch Pro" rumors, but I'm still kind of confused why the biggest upgrade for the new Switch is a feature that is completely irrelevant if the system is docked. A bigger, OLED display would have been more useful on the Switch Lite since you can't dock it. I know this video isn't about the OLED Switch, but since you mentioned you wish the screen was bigger on the Switch Lite, I thought I'd throw this opinion out there haha
I agree with you 100%. If you have a switch lite and you can’t play it in a TV then it should have something over the regular switch that doesn’t really matter like the OLED.
@@sullysuckafish Also, OLED uses MUCH less power than a LCD screen.. so why would they not put the better screen which makes the small battery last much longer on the switch lite?... If your playing with the regular switch and battery is low you can dock it and keep playing but if the battery is low on the switch lite your screwed.. game over. Also them putting OLED on the switch lite and having the regular switch just be able to dock will be good for sales because a lot of people will buy both... like me lol

Making the screen bigger on the Lite would defeat its purpose, so they didnt do that. They shouldve just announced there would be an OLED Lite happening along side it with the same size screen.
For someone who is constantly on the move everyday of the week for my job, the Lite was absolutely perfect for me. At first I wanted to get the base Switch but thought it better to have it for just handheld only. I didn’t want to constantly hold a heavy console while playing, it may hurt my wrists (Plus I have too many home consoles anyway lol). And I mainly play visual novels on the thing anyway. So gameplay wise, it’s perfect!
As someone who’s very busy, i appreciate the switch lite so much. As I’m getting older, the portable aspect is far more attractive to me. Can’t wait to play Pokémon diamond again!

Just bought one for my 10yr old daughter for her birthday. Was debating between the regular and lite but figured go with the Lite. Reminds me of having a regular Gameboy Color/Advanced like when I grew up. For a pre teen I think the Lite is perfect

A lot of people are commenting that they can't afford it. What I do is buy my switch stuff in offerup or facebook marketplace! Buy Second hand people! You can always test them out locally! You'll save a few buying used. Make sure to test buttons in the settings to make sure they all work, the joycons calibration but don't actually calibrate them just spin them around to make sure no drift or let it be to see if it moves by itself. As well as testing the touch screen. Hopefully this helps!
I had my switch lite for about a month and I love it. Having no docking ability does suck a little but for the $199 price tag it’s a great handheld. I mostly play my PlayStation so it’s worth it just to play a few Nintendo exclusives.
I have a Switch and a Switch lite, and I really like to use the Switch lite for handheld gaming and then switch to the regular Switch for gaming on the bigger screen.
I’m the same way, I usually take my lite out the house when I’m like at work on break and leave the original at home just more comfortable to play handheld
I bought a lite while owning a switch and thought I was wasting my money and would only play It for a week. I never touch my og switch now I love my lite. It feels so much better in the hand and it's sturdy and doesn't feel like the controllers are falling off all the time. Maybe when we are out of covid I'll play with ppl in the same room again but I love my lite and still think if I'm alone will only play on that

First bought the Lite a year ago since already had a PlayStation. Loved so much the console that decided to upgrade to the bigger version and no regrets. Even for playing exclusively handheld, the bigger screen really make a diference.
I’m afraid this will happen to me also. Hoping that in a year or two there will be a refreshed and upgraded Switch to justify buying one bc I’m starting with the Switch Lite for sure.
Once I upgraded to normal switch, I quit playing my lite, tbh it's just as portable and more convenient, because u can prop it up and use the joy cons in your hands. You don't always have to hold the device
I upgraded from the 2017 switch to the Lite, best decision I ever made as someone who only plays handheld, it being much lighter makes a big difference.
@@bryanmattingly4640 The OG Switch does have the advantage too where you can take the tablet part and put it in a slim case, then carry the Joycons separately and it'll all fit in your pockets more easily then the Lite will.
I am mainly a PC gamer and I had a New 3DS XL and I needed an upgrade and a way to play indies and Nintendo titles on a handheld console. The Switch Lite was just the right device to do all that for me! It is a great little machine for indies and I love it to bits!
I had a OG Switch, I changed it for the Switch Lite which whilst having the best design by far, I found the screen too small so changed it back for the OG Switch lol. This is a very true review, for adults the Lite is a bit of a challenge to use but it's design is amazing.
Bought the switch lite blue a few days ago, loving the convenience and gives me the old psp vibes back then. The buttons feels a bit flimsy but other than it’s a good handheld. I do agree with the big hands problem too. During long periods my hands get fatigued and cramped so it definitely needs a case with it
I just got my switch lite a few weeks ago!! It's the pokemon special edition. I got a bunch of physical games but I got the 256 gb memory card and downloaded so many games on it!! Love the indie games! Perfect size since I'm commuting on the bus daily. Everybody on they phones and there's me putting in work on my backlog lol
Hell yea man! I'm a lil relieved the only difference the oled version will have is the screen, so the lite will still run the games coming out as best as their meant to lol. Also made my next handheld/console to get an easy choice which is the steam deck! Never had a gaming pc or really a good pc in general before.. so I finally will get to be part of the steam ecosystem. Also I'm hearing u can get gamepass working on there, and I always wanted that as well. I fear my backlog will reach extraordinary depths that I will never get out of.. but yea thats a long ways to go. Can't wait to see ur thoughts on the steam deck!!

Exactly. I have the same feelings about my Switch Lite. I think they could totally solve this with a flip-open style Lite similar to the 3DS/2DS XL. I have a 2DS XL and much prefer the feel of playing on it compared to the Lite and the games were all developed and optimized for playing at that lower resolution. What it translated into was a better experience for handheld gaming. I think Switch Lite missed the mark and seriously could improve. Sure, it's light enough in weight I guess, just not that comfortable IMHO for longer playing sessions. However, I guess that's why they have the OG Switch, so I don't have much of an argument there. Still though, I'd love to see a folding Switch Lite even if it unashamedly took some design language from the 3DS XL--plus included like a 7" screen like the new Switch OLED. If they did that and even just charged like $50 or heck even $100 for an OLED version, it'b totally worth it to me.
Thanks for the insight! I've been in the PS Vita community for the past 8 years, seeing games like Rocket League, Skyrim, Bioshock, etc run so well on something like the Switch lite really impresses me. It's a lot more expensive here, but i might just have to pick one up sometime.

@6:05 the requirement to use a Nintendo charger only applies to the switch when docked. For handheld and switch lite. You can use any chargers/backup battery pack. Ideal 5v 2A ones.
I bought the Switch Lite like two weeks ago for a pretty solid price imo. If you use it handheld most of the time anyway it’s probably the best option. The screen is on the smaller side and some games are just annoyingly small on it like Rocket League. The battery life is enough for me. The thing that is probably the biggest disadvantage is the 720p screen. It’s just not as sharp especially when you try to look at things in the distance. All models have a 720p screen though. Build quality is alright however not state of the art (like you said joysticks). I‘d recommend getting a case and buy the smartridges since you can sell them again.
i bought a switch lite for my 21st birthday as the first ever gift i auto buy for myself (as i started working while studying) i agree with everything you noticed, from the neck pain to the hand struggle; still i love af this console! (i'm mainly a pc/ps4pro gamer)
I use it on the couch late at night when I'm trying to get my kid to sleep away from mommy. Probably the most play I've put into a Nintendo system since the SNES. It's perfect for going in and out of sleep mode constantly. Hades was a great experience for me on it but maybe if I ever play that on a big screen I'll realize what I was missing.
I have a PS5. Getting a switch lite was the better choice for me. I love it. It’s beautiful and very fun to play. I recommend the lite for anyone who already have home consoles
I have the switch OLED but Im thinking about getting this for playing while laying in bed. I also would love one of these for taking out to waiting rooms at the doctor's office, mechanic, dentist...etc. I can't see myself taking the OLED on the go with how expensive it is, and how the joycons could eventually wobble. This baby looks like it is built like a tank and can tolerate a little more abuse than the OLED.
It totally is a tank. I have the OLED one too, just beware that Nintendo doesn’t have an easy cloud save system so you’d have to have games that you don’t mind having different progress in rather than on your main switch.
2:42 So what you want is a foldable screen device, something you could close and make it small enough to fit in your pocket and then pop open and big to play with a decent screen size. I remember why (on that time) the GBA SP was the dream device for me. At this time it would have to be a foldable screen kinda like those niche Samsung devices that are currently on test.
I got my regular switch last week, and i'm so happy though i'm not intensely playing with it. I always have a dream to have console. I remember when i had to borrow my friend's ds lite... and now, i'm an adult i finally can afford mine 😭😭😭. I personally prefer the regular one though i reallyyyyy want the yellow lite, but here in my country, price wise they are not very different.
Nintendo's strenth was always the portables. I think Switch was an exception. Switch Lite is more of a reminice of the original Gameboy. I think the Switch Lite will become a classic.
I’ve had my lite since they were released. The regular switch is just not worth the purchase for me because I have so many home consoles and with the pandemic i don’t need another. I just bought a small charging stand and a pro controller and for me it’s the perfect portable console
On the battery thing (I'm ridiculously ocd about lithium batteries) I would recommend always using a charger that's less output both wattage and amp wise. I just Googled "portable chargers safe for the Switch" and got a 30,000 mah battery pack. I still only use it when I have to because it won't slow the charge towards the end like the proprietary Nintendo charger does. Two major things with lithium batteries. Never (and I mean NEVER) let any device get under 30%. It's horrible for battery life and is akin to running your own body to the point of unhealthy exhaustion. I also have only charged my Switch Lite above 80ish percent once when I first bought it. So leaving it or your phone to charge all nigh is kind of a no no. Not nearly as bad for the battery as letting it get below 30%, but it will still shorten battery life. Lastly only charge in 20-35% increments letting it rest for 15 to 20 minutes between charging sessions. So again, if you have say 37% battery as you go to lay down for the night DON'T charge it from there overnight to 100%. It all seems like a bit much I know, but your Switch and any other lithium powered devices will thank you by lasting up to three times their "normal lifespan" with how most people charge and use them. Worse comes to worse you need to replace the battery every couple of years. However with using a charger that's over outputting watts and amps into the Switch you'll not only kill your battery slowly over time, you run the risk of burning up other components inside the Switch. Always remember, heat=BAD. Rule of thumb for myself is if your Switch gets hotter when charging it than when you play it, you're charging it wrong. Like I said, I'm a bit ocd about lithium batteries. But my 2 year old phone still lasts all day long from an 80% charge. And my Switch Lite hasn't lost but maybe 5% of it's capacity after well over a hundred "full" charges. Biggest things are never going below 30% and never using a charger that's above the Switches boxed chargers output.
Almost forgot good review though! I agree with most of your points. Funny story about laying down and holding your Switch above your face though. If you start to get sleepy or the Switch slips from your hand for any other reason it doesn't feel good when the corner smacks your face. And you'll probably never play it like that again lol. My Switch Lite is my only console aside from a 3DS and my two old school consoles, SNES and Sega Genesis. When my neck gets tired or sore I put a pillow against my wall on my bed, lean back on said pillow, and haven't had anymore cramed necks or hands. I'm in my 30s btw. Personally I do recommend a clear case or rubberized case. I have both, and they're for my hands to grip because as you pointed out it's pretty damn durable as is. Last thing on portability, I never put gaming consoles (that I like) in my pockets EVER. Since my monochrome screened original Gameboys and even the clam-shell SP's and DS's I've ALWAYS used a carrying case. It's not super important, but my personal preference because nothing distracts me more while I'm immersed than scratches on my screen or even the outer casing of my portabe console lol.

Charged my Switch Lite hundreds of times following those rules, have had it for over a year, play it everyday, and it still takes several hours to go from 80 to 30 while playing a cartridge copy of Skyrim. I like the switch lite on the road. When I was on a road trip it was a blast playing Mario odyssey. I use it more than regular switch which I leave docked most of the time. The design and feel is nicer than the regular switch

In my opinion. I definitely recommend this if you only got 200 bucks for a console. But. If you *REALLY* want the real switch, then save up a bit longer. Pretty much. If you have enough for the lite. Get it. Until you got 300 bucks. Then buy the regular Switch. And sell the lite if you want.

The regular Switch just has so much versatility with switching controller options, bigger screen, multiplayer anywhere, and TV screen option that the lite just doesn’t do it for me. I just got the Hori Split pad pro for Reg Switch and it’s game-changing. Can’t change that on lite. But I’m glad the lite exists because more options for consumers is always great.
I love my Switch Lite, bought one in 2020 when Animal Crossing came out and put like 300 hours in, which was worth it alone. Only thing I hate is that I can't play couch multiplayer with my girlfriend and use the TV, but still worth the money!
I mean the joystick protection complaint can be very easily (and cheaply, depending on your choice) be "fixed" by using a carrier case. This becomes doubly attractive since when you see that most cases come with game card holders as well, and the ones licensed by Nintendo even come bundled with a screen protector.
I’ve had the switch lite for about 1 1/2 years AND I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIRD PARTY CHARGERS because I use to use them all the time and now my average battery life is about 15-20 minutes AND DONT PUT YOUR SWICTH ON SLEEP MODE!!!!

Let me say this right now I have a regular switch and it fits completly fine in my pocket the light looks barley bigger than my phone so it would definetly fit.
Be very weary. I've put about 2,000 hours on my switch lite, and the left stick has bottom drift. So just be ready to either send to it a place that does replacements, or replace it yourself.
@@TechSpaceCowboy monster Hunter rise makes up about 700 of those hours, and I put about 300 into dauntless, and around 400-500 hours in paladins, and currently already have 100 hours in Pokemon unite hahahaga. (that's the game that finally gave me drift.) so that's roughly 1,500 of those hours. The rest is stuff like astral chain, no more heroes (all), DBZ zenoverse, OH AND MY FIRST GAME, daemon X machina
The problem you have with it comes from the Switch not being a real portable. The games for it are designed like home console games, which affects the font size and the amount of stuff that happens on the screen.
This is perfect for me. I ordered the Switch Lite just for Nintendo exclusive games since I'm a PC gamer. This is perfect! Also, I have smaller hands so this is good, haha.
I know what you mean about buying another switch lite even though you have one. I want that switch purple or blue one. I don’t use my lite as much as my oled but i still keep it around because it feels and plays great
I have both (obviously not the oled) but I like the lite better cause I play handheld the most. I literally hardly dock it and play. Switch lite is also way lighter in handheld mode
I have both lite and switch. Some games are better on the big screen and some fits the relaxing experience of playing in bed. I recommend adding some grips to the back and thumbsticks.

If you don't charge it with the official charger the battery life will be compromised in the long run,I have two Vita's both oled versions, one I've only used with the original charger"never had to replace it still going strong" the other I've charged from many power sources and I've had to replace the battery twice.
I haven't taken the charger that came with my Switch Lite out of the box. I've been using a 12W/2.1A USB adapter most of the time and it still works fine.
I debated on getting this or a Vita. Vita won me over with OLED, games and modability, but I can acknowledge that the Lite is probably is the better handheld in many areas. I imagine I would have bought one if I was a Nintendo kid but I am a PlayStation diehard, so the titles on that speak to me more

First bought the Lite a year ago since already had a PlayStation. Loved so much the console that decided to upgrade to the bigger version and no regrets. Even for playing exclusively handheld, the bigger screen really make a diference.
I’m afraid this will happen to me also. Hoping that in a year or two there will be a refreshed and upgraded Switch to justify buying one bc I’m starting with the Switch Lite for sure.

Once I upgraded to normal switch, I quit playing my lite, tbh it's just as portable and more convenient, because u can prop it up and use the joy cons in your hands. You don't always have to hold the device
I upgraded from the 2017 switch to the Lite, best decision I ever made as someone who only plays handheld, it being much lighter makes a big difference.
@@bryanmattingly4640 The OG Switch does have the advantage too where you can take the tablet part and put it in a slim case, then carry the Joycons separately and it'll all fit in your pockets more easily then the Lite will.

I am mainly a PC gamer and I had a New 3DS XL and I needed an upgrade and a way to play indies and Nintendo titles on a handheld console. The Switch Lite was just the right device to do all that for me! It is a great little machine for indies and I love it to bits!
I had a OG Switch, I changed it for the Switch Lite which whilst having the best design by far, I found the screen too small so changed it back for the OG Switch lol. This is a very true review, for adults the Lite is a bit of a challenge to use but it's design is amazing.
Bought the switch lite blue a few days ago, loving the convenience and gives me the old psp vibes back then. The buttons feels a bit flimsy but other than it’s a good handheld. I do agree with the big hands problem too. During long periods my hands get fatigued and cramped so it definitely needs a case with it

I've man handled mine since pokemon sword shield came out (thats when i got it) and its held up better than the original switch I had.
I just got my switch lite a few weeks ago!! It's the pokemon special edition. I got a bunch of physical games but I got the 256 gb memory card and downloaded so many games on it!! Love the indie games! Perfect size since I'm commuting on the bus daily. Everybody on they phones and there's me putting in work on my backlog lol

Hell yea man! I'm a lil relieved the only difference the oled version will have is the screen, so the lite will still run the games coming out as best as their meant to lol.
Also made my next handheld/console to get an easy choice which is the steam deck! Never had a gaming pc or really a good pc in general before.. so I finally will get to be part of the steam ecosystem. Also I'm hearing u can get gamepass working on there, and I always wanted that as well. I fear my backlog will reach extraordinary depths that I will never get out of.. but yea thats a long ways to go. Can't wait to see ur thoughts on the steam deck!!

I own a switch lite. I really like it. I am currently playing FF 12 on it and I really like having a grand rpg on the go.
It's the same for me when I put it in my pocket, have to take my time in taking it out but other than that it's a good value indeed, already have a Ps4 so I miss handheld, so it was the switch lite for me☺️, great review!

Exactly. I have the same feelings about my Switch Lite. I think they could totally solve this with a flip-open style Lite similar to the 3DS/2DS XL. I have a 2DS XL and much prefer the feel of playing on it compared to the Lite and the games were all developed and optimized for playing at that lower resolution. What it translated into was a better experience for handheld gaming.
I think Switch Lite missed the mark and seriously could improve. Sure, it's light enough in weight I guess, just not that comfortable IMHO for longer playing sessions. However, I guess that's why they have the OG Switch, so I don't have much of an argument there. Still though, I'd love to see a folding Switch Lite even if it unashamedly took some design language from the 3DS XL--plus included like a 7" screen like the new Switch OLED. If they did that and even just charged like $50 or heck even $100 for an OLED version, it'b totally worth it to me.

Thanks for the insight! I've been in the PS Vita community for the past 8 years, seeing games like Rocket League, Skyrim, Bioshock, etc run so well on something like the Switch lite really impresses me. It's a lot more expensive here, but i might just have to pick one up sometime.
I can’t say I recommend Rocket League on the switch lite. It very much feels like a compromised version of the game

@6:05 the requirement to use a Nintendo charger only applies to the switch when docked.
For handheld and switch lite. You can use any chargers/backup battery pack. Ideal 5v 2A ones.

I bought the Switch Lite like two weeks ago for a pretty solid price imo. If you use it handheld most of the time anyway it’s probably the best option. The screen is on the smaller side and some games are just annoyingly small on it like Rocket League. The battery life is enough for me. The thing that is probably the biggest disadvantage is the 720p screen. It’s just not as sharp especially when you try to look at things in the distance. All models have a 720p screen though. Build quality is alright however not state of the art (like you said joysticks). I‘d recommend getting a case and buy the smartridges since you can sell them again.

I use it on the couch late at night when I'm trying to get my kid to sleep away from mommy. Probably the most play I've put into a Nintendo system since the SNES. It's perfect for going in and out of sleep mode constantly. Hades was a great experience for me on it but maybe if I ever play that on a big screen I'll realize what I was missing.

Buy the sleeve it fits into made by NINTENDO. It fits directly into your pocket where as the OG switch does not.

I have the switch OLED but Im thinking about getting this for playing while laying in bed. I also would love one of these for taking out to waiting rooms at the doctor's office, mechanic, dentist...etc. I can't see myself taking the OLED on the go with how expensive it is, and how the joycons could eventually wobble. This baby looks like it is built like a tank and can tolerate a little more abuse than the OLED.

I have the OLED one too, just beware that Nintendo doesn’t have an easy cloud save system so you’d have to have games that you don’t mind having different progress in rather than on your main switch.
2:42 So what you want is a foldable screen device, something you could close and make it small enough to fit in your pocket and then pop open and big to play with a decent screen size.
I remember why (on that time) the GBA SP was the dream device for me. At this time it would have to be a foldable screen kinda like those niche Samsung devices that are currently on test.

I got my regular switch last week, and i'm so happy though i'm not intensely playing with it. I always have a dream to have console. I remember when i had to borrow my friend's ds lite... and now, i'm an adult i finally can afford mine 😭😭😭. I personally prefer the regular one though i reallyyyyy want the yellow lite, but here in my country, price wise they are not very different.

Nintendo's strenth was always the portables. I think Switch was an exception. Switch Lite is more of a reminice of the original Gameboy. I think the Switch Lite will become a classic.
Switch lite is honesty wsy better than my other docked switch. I'm too used to playing handheld consoles for pokemon it's weird for me to dock it lol

I’ve had my lite since they were released. The regular switch is just not worth the purchase for me because I have so many home consoles and with the pandemic i don’t need another. I just bought a small charging stand and a pro controller and for me it’s the perfect portable console

As someone who has a gaming PC and a PS5, the Switch Lite is perfect for me. I don't need the regular Switch since i don't have any use for the dock.
On the battery thing (I'm ridiculously ocd about lithium batteries) I would recommend always using a charger that's less output both wattage and amp wise. I just Googled "portable chargers safe for the Switch" and got a 30,000 mah battery pack. I still only use it when I have to because it won't slow the charge towards the end like the proprietary Nintendo charger does.
Two major things with lithium batteries. Never (and I mean NEVER) let any device get under 30%. It's horrible for battery life and is akin to running your own body to the point of unhealthy exhaustion. I also have only charged my Switch Lite above 80ish percent once when I first bought it. So leaving it or your phone to charge all nigh is kind of a no no. Not nearly as bad for the battery as letting it get below 30%, but it will still shorten battery life. Lastly only charge in 20-35% increments letting it rest for 15 to 20 minutes between charging sessions. So again, if you have say 37% battery as you go to lay down for the night DON'T charge it from there overnight to 100%.
It all seems like a bit much I know, but your Switch and any other lithium powered devices will thank you by lasting up to three times their "normal lifespan" with how most people charge and use them. Worse comes to worse you need to replace the battery every couple of years.
However with using a charger that's over outputting watts and amps into the Switch you'll not only kill your battery slowly over time, you run the risk of burning up other components inside the Switch. Always remember, heat=BAD. Rule of thumb for myself is if your Switch gets hotter when charging it than when you play it, you're charging it wrong.
Like I said, I'm a bit ocd about lithium batteries. But my 2 year old phone still lasts all day long from an 80% charge. And my Switch Lite hasn't lost but maybe 5% of it's capacity after well over a hundred "full" charges. Biggest things are never going below 30% and never using a charger that's above the Switches boxed chargers output.
Almost forgot good review though!
I agree with most of your points. Funny story about laying down and holding your Switch above your face though. If you start to get sleepy or the Switch slips from your hand for any other reason it doesn't feel good when the corner smacks your face. And you'll probably never play it like that again lol. My Switch Lite is my only console aside from a 3DS and my two old school consoles, SNES and Sega Genesis. When my neck gets tired or sore I put a pillow against my wall on my bed, lean back on said pillow, and haven't had anymore cramed necks or hands. I'm in my 30s btw. Personally I do recommend a clear case or rubberized case. I have both, and they're for my hands to grip because as you pointed out it's pretty damn durable as is.
Last thing on portability, I never put gaming consoles (that I like) in my pockets EVER. Since my monochrome screened original Gameboys and even the clam-shell SP's and DS's I've ALWAYS used a carrying case. It's not super important, but my personal preference because nothing distracts me more while I'm immersed than scratches on my screen or even the outer casing of my portabe console lol.

Charged my Switch Lite hundreds of times following those rules, have had it for over a year, play it everyday, and it still takes several hours to go from 80 to 30 while playing a cartridge copy of Skyrim. I like the switch lite on the road. When I was on a road trip it was a blast playing Mario odyssey.
I use it more than regular switch which I leave docked most of the time.

In my opinion. I definitely recommend this if you only got 200 bucks for a console. But. If you *REALLY* want the real switch, then save up a bit longer.
Pretty much. If you have enough for the lite. Get it. Until you got 300 bucks. Then buy the regular Switch. And sell the lite if you want.

The regular Switch just has so much versatility with switching controller options, bigger screen, multiplayer anywhere, and TV screen option that the lite just doesn’t do it for me. I just got the Hori Split pad pro for Reg Switch and it’s game-changing. Can’t change that on lite. But I’m glad the lite exists because more options for consumers is always great.

The best thing you can do when buying a switch lite is getting it a grip case. It’s a game changer and no more hand cramps!

I love my Switch Lite, bought one in 2020 when Animal Crossing came out and put like 300 hours in, which was worth it alone. Only thing I hate is that I can't play couch multiplayer with my girlfriend and use the TV, but still worth the money!
I mean the joystick protection complaint can be very easily (and cheaply, depending on your choice) be "fixed" by using a carrier case. This becomes doubly attractive since when you see that most cases come with game card holders as well, and the ones licensed by Nintendo even come bundled with a screen protector.

I’ve had the switch lite for about 1 1/2 years AND I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIRD PARTY CHARGERS because I use to use them all the time and now my average battery life is about 15-20 minutes AND DONT PUT YOUR SWICTH ON SLEEP MODE!!!!

Be very weary. I've put about 2,000 hours on my switch lite, and the left stick has bottom drift. So just be ready to either send to it a place that does replacements, or replace it yourself.

@@TechSpaceCowboy monster Hunter rise makes up about 700 of those hours, and I put about 300 into dauntless, and around 400-500 hours in paladins, and currently already have 100 hours in Pokemon unite hahahaga. (that's the game that finally gave me drift.) so that's roughly 1,500 of those hours. The rest is stuff like astral chain, no more heroes (all), DBZ zenoverse, OH AND MY FIRST GAME, daemon X machina

The problem you have with it comes from the Switch not being a real portable. The games for it are designed like home console games, which affects the font size and the amount of stuff that happens on the screen.

I have both lite and switch. Some games are better on the big screen and some fits the relaxing experience of playing in bed. I recommend adding some grips to the back and thumbsticks.

If you don't charge it with the official charger the battery life will be compromised in the long run,I have two Vita's both oled versions, one I've only used with the original charger"never had to replace it still going strong" the other I've charged from many power sources and I've had to replace the battery twice.

I haven't taken the charger that came with my Switch Lite out of the box. I've been using a 12W/2.1A USB adapter most of the time and it still works fine.

I debated on getting this or a Vita. Vita won me over with OLED, games and modability, but I can acknowledge that the Lite is probably is the better handheld in many areas. I imagine I would have bought one if I was a Nintendo kid but I am a PlayStation diehard, so the titles on that speak to me more
