    I thank God for you, you have helped me through my awakening and conversion, now I know what is happening. Stuck in the transition from one stage to the next can be terrifying or terrific. At least I know God is still working in my life. Thank you.

    Thank you for your words of encouragement. No matter what I’m facing in my life I won’t let go of Jesus! I keep crying out asking for prayers because, I know our prayers are stronger together so please pray for me. I’m struggling to provide for my two autistic children since losing my job over not getting the vaccine. I have pre existing health condition (Lupus) and Heart disease. I’m on a bunch of medications including blood thinners. My husband passed away three years ago, so I’m all alone. Both of my sons are non verbal so things are more difficult for me. I don’t know how we are going to make it through. This month we are facing homelessness. Every month is a struggle. We have nowhere to go. I’m so embarrassed of my situation. I’ve been put down and mocked over my circumstances. It’s hard to hold my head up, I’m not going to lie. BUT NO MATTER WHAT. I have Faith that God will provide! Faith over Fear! I believe.

    Q. In prayer 🙏, why is it done in the open, when the holy bible forbids it.
    Matthew 6

      @Dannyboy0202 2 года назад

      God doesn't forbid prayer out in the open in Matthew 6 he warns against the false piety of the pharisees. There's nothing wrong with a crowd of people coming together to pray in communion with one another as long as their intentions are good.

      Then what is this
      5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

      So it's forbidden out in the open

    • @Dannyboy0202
      @Dannyboy0202 2 года назад

      @@painandsuffer it's not forbidden, were in that chapter do you read the word forbidden? Jesus is giving advice to his apostles to not imitate the Pharisees because they stood out in the open to be seen by other's... some people feel closer to God while out in the open some people go to the top of a mountain to feel closer to God and pray, even Jesus himself prayed out in the open , he would go up on a mountain top and he also prayed in the garden of gethsemane. It's ok to pray out in the open as long it is true prayer to God and not an act of false piety to be seen by other's. Jesus is not making a commandment here about were and how to pray, he is teaching the apostles and this is just they Jesus speaks, it's like when he says if your eye causes you to sin gouge it out and throw it away or cut your arm off, how many one-eyed one-armed Christians do you see walking about?

    What were the books she suggested?

    • @catholicbiblestudies5049
      @catholicbiblestudies5049  2 года назад

      Most of the class is based on Ralph Martin's "The Fulfillment of All Desire," St Teresa of Avila's "The Interior Castle," and St Francis De Sales "Introduction to the Devout Life."
      She also mentions CS Lewis "Surprised By Joy" which is the story of his early life and "The Great Divorce" (an imagination of people in hell taking a bus trip through heaven and being so self centered they were unable to see God's goodness even in heaven. The title plays on how sin divorces mankind from being complete and whole as God intended).
      Kristin added to the list she handed out in class St John of the Cross, St Augustine's "Confessions:" St Athanasius's "Life of Anthony", Brother Lawrence's "The Practice of the Presence of God" and "The Cloud of Unknowing", "The Philokalia," St Catherine of Siena's "Dialogue," St Therese of Liseux's "Story of a Soul," and St Bernard of Clairvaux's "Sermons on the Song of Songs."
