Sounds good in theory. Problem being Zibanejad, Kreider, Trouba have no-trade lists. A lot of teams who are contenders have more cap space. The problem is chronic at this point. You cannot roll out Mika + Kreider + RW du jour and expect to make the Stanley Cup finals. Rangers need to get bigger and more physical. The Rangers do have size BUT they don’t play to their size. Hence they get forechecked until they run out of gas and lose in the Playoffs.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I don't think Guentzel is enough to put this team over the top. During the Florida series people where saying, oh if we had Guentzel that we would have beaten Florida and tbh, I just didn't think it would have been enough of difference maker. I think Rangers need to Build a stronger, bigger, grinder defense first and then try to move some players for more offensive talent
I agree I think they need a tuff forchecker who can bang the puck home finisher ie Brady tachuck
Agreed Guentzel could be a nice fit but we need a couple of players with grit not just one.
Maybe a bigger defenseman who hits and doesn’t just stick check.
Must be committed to playing Edstrom and Rempe and live with Rempe’s “enthusiasm.”

These trades definitely make a lot of sense if we get Jake it’ll definitely be a promising season for the rangers but we gotta see what the front office will do hopefully they seeing what you see 🔵🔴💯

Guentzel is a gamer. But, I would prefer Reinhart, who is tougher.

I like adding Guetzel I'm just not sure of adding him to Kreider Mika line (assuming 2nd line is left alone). Still think that line is too weak and really think getting rid of Mika should happen this year and $ be spent on a true top center and then sign a winger to a short term deal.
I just watched Florida employ the Rangers formula to win game one...Get outshot and dominated and rely on your goalie to steal an undeserved win...Witnessing how easily the Oilers handled the Florida pressure and entered the offensive zone points out how flawed this Rangers team is...We require a MAJOR retool!!

He makes his teammates better always has and I mean I hope he can be as good as he has been but idk just don’t want to see another situation where he isn’t as good here as he is somewhere else. I hope if we do get him he proves me wrong I really do but every big trade we make hasn’t worked out for the most part

Just hope he can actually not go to the shadow realm like breadman and Mika do at times. I have no problem trading away mika, Kreider, Trouba, and Chytil for Jake. Pair him on the same line#1 with Othmann. Then we should go after Ehlers put him on line#2. It shouldnt be hard to find a good defenseman at $MM.
What about the year after where you going to have to sign Lafrieniere and Shesterkin to big deals if Laf has a better season his going to go for atleast 7 mill plus Shesterking gonna wanna get paid like Sorokin for 9 mill at least?
I would give him 8 million per year...9.65 is way too high for a guy who is not a point a game producer.

First the Rangers need to get more cap space, and the first person that the rangers need to get rid of is trouba, I agree that guentzel would help the offense in the playoffs, no doubt, but I think the Rangers should go after marchessault because he would be cheaper and they may be abe to get another solid forward. marchessault makes 5 million, he will want around 7 i believe, but guentzel is gonna be asking for over 9 million, I just think marchessault would be better

Honestly I think we can do more. I would look to trade Trouba for BUF Samuelsson. Ld with size. Plays defence. And you trade Kakko, for another x top pick that needs a new start. And maybe buys out Goodrow. Maybe even move Chytil. Bring in Guentzel. Open up for one or two of Edstrom, Berard or Rempe... I think that would work for me

If Igor wants 11 million I say let him walk, it’s clear goalies alone don’t win cups. We have major cap issues that need fixing.

The Rangers need size and grit to get in those dirty area's of the ice, the need to give trouba his walking papers he's horrible and don't deserve no $8 million a yr, I hope Drury is watching and just buy out trouba and you can save money and get someone who's a no nonsense player and someone who is big heavy player. Go Rangers.
I'm a bad fan I guess but I don't care anymore. I've been bleeding blue for almost 40 years now, but I need to step away for at least one season. I'm just over it. This was the most talented and capable team that they've had since 94 and they still found a way to blow it. Every year this team has more than enough talent to win it all. Every year the top players turn into ghosts except for the goalie. I would not blame, and almost encourage Igor to seek a trade as soon as his contract is up. He should not go down like Hank did. That man deserves to have his name on the Stanley Cup and so did Hank. I could really care less what players we get. It doesn't matter. We always find a way to get great players. What we need to do is figure out what it is about this goddamn team that makes them fall flat in the postseason every year. The goalie doesn't, that's for sure, but literally almost everyone else does.
