I saw the Sport trim in Silver at the dealer. And honestly, I think it's the best looking Impreza. If you see it in person in sunlight, you'll see what I mean.
I just bought the RS in silver and I am loving it so far, I am going to be tinting the windows and then adding a turbo kit in the future
@@jackdowns6122 Yea, it looks great for sure. I'm trying for a white or red RS in a few months.
@@jackdowns6122does that work well with the CVT? Asking as a 21 sport Crosstrek owner
I got one too. The 2024 Sport, Is fast enough! I did a moderate 1000-mile break-in as recommended. After the break-in, I got a top speed of 128 MPH recorded by Radar detector GPS and speedometer. 0-60 at 400 ft. above sea level was 8.6 seconds at 86 MPH. I don't think it is as sluggish as reported. The RS is not much faster and has about the same top end.
If you wanted blind spot monitoring and or rear cross traffic, the option is so expensive, you may as well get the RS trim. That what I hate about considering getting an Impreza.
I have a 2018 sport hatch down here in New Zealand. I have now done 134,000km, mostly on rural roads and motorway. I love this car and haven't ever noticed any lack of performance both in the engine and CVT, but I guess you could say my car is well 'run in' by now. Once the new model comes to NZ I will certainly look with a view to purchasing, but I am not that excited by the new interior so maybe I will just keep the current car. But without a doubt the best car I have owned, including 3 previous Legacy wagons.
I understand how you feel. I have an 2021 Impreza sport hatchback in manual transmission which I love for an daily. I think I'd rather stick with my 2.0 and keep the manual, rather than buy the non standard with an 2.0.
what do you do for work?
Ive been looking into buying this same car, and this video really helped me out. thank you so much.
Happy to help
The current Subaru 2024 Impreza Sport configurator lists the front headrest TILT function in the safety section of the standard features. This is as of December 16th 2023. Why doesn't your demo have them?
None of the 2024 Imprezas I’ve done videos with have had the tilting headrests. Big disappointment for sure
Test drive the RS a couple of days ago. There’s a lot to like and the CVT works well but not well enough for me to buy it. Hoping they bring out a manual version in 2025.
A manual (I think) would make this car sell a lot better
We all need to remind em to to put back the Manual.Subaru is reading all the Comments here !
@@marksphotoperry356 You think they actually are reading the comments?
@@703Speed You bet they do ! Just think how that video came to be here in fist place ? Coincidence ? Auto makers way to test the grounds if nothing else....
So true ❤
I drive a 1994 Toyota Camry with a 4-cylinder and I guarantee you this car will be faster than the car I drive everyday😂
all black grill with the gloss looks great, much better than when mixed with the chrome trim
Love the big screen display
Hi..and what about the weight of the two versions, RS and Sport? What's the difference ?
Hm, I wonder why they took the Sport badge off of the back under the Impreza.
Probably to avoide confusion on which model has the 2.5 liter engine
@@zergilli9719 I agree.. That's where they put the "RS" badge
I paid under $30k for my 24 RS. I debated whether I needed the bigger 2.5L engine and have to say YES. Even the 2.5 is barely adequate for normal driving. The 2.0 must be miserable.
It is not. I have the sport and the ride is quite nice
@@PHL1213 The new model is very quiet and smooth, but that 2.0 is seriously under powered. Mine has the 2.5 and its a turd. Significantly slower than my mazda 3 that has 30 less horsepower. The AWD, as nice as it is robs the engine of so much power. The fuel economy sucks for such a small weak engine as well.
@@boost331i paid about 27 for a sport and yes it is slow. but i plan on either waiting for someone to make a turbo kit for it just to get it up to speed quicker. i dont really want anyone of the upgrades with the rs for only 30 hp when i can spend the same difference on something thatll improve it exponentially. it’s definitely not a monster tho lol. turns great tho
@@elawaids2888 good luck. Put any extra power on that car and your CVT will explode immediately. The RS actually maxes out the torque limits of that trans already. If you wanted a fast car, you bought the wrong one. Should have gat a wrx. You will never turbo that car, quit playin.
@@boost331 i will turbo it. and if the trans goes out ill replace it. i like the car a lot i was disappointed it wasnt manual. is it worth to do all of that? absolutely not. will i enjoy it? hopefully but im gonna do it. even if they dont make a kit ill build my own
Can you turn off the option that shuts the engine off at a red light ?
Yes
@@703Speed 🙏
Why not get a plastic covering on the rear bumper like the 3rd gen outback
I wish Subaru just simplified everything instead of these separate Option packages. MSRP of a Crosstrek premium is just about the same price. There are also other options if you want to spend close to $30k.
I thought the sport came only with the dual screens not the 11 inch screen.
Sport comes standard with the 11.6" screen
This was very helpful.
I watched other videos on the 2024 Impreza and saw the head rests are adjustable.
N
😢
Wow 2 seconds slower 0-60 versus the RS in your other video!
Are you also reviewing the Base trim to complete the trio lineup review?
I can if you want me to
@@703Speed
That would be great.
@@703Speed Yes, I'd appreciate hearing your take on the Base trim's smaller 16-inch wheels and smaller front brakes, along with missing the rear suspension stabilizer bar. How would it rate in the speed bumps you do? Do the dual 7-inch screens in the Base feel as responsive as the 11.6-inch screen in the Sport and RS trims?
@@nighthawkvc25a Let me see what I can do and see if I can find a base
how does it compare to last years sport trim?
I think one could say they are relatively similar in some aspects, but, it definitely feels more refined and I definitely like the updated exterior design better on the 24'
Hi Giao NGuyen, how to contact you from Vietnam?
Off topic, but props to you for pronouncing that name
Which name?
Giao Nguyen
When do we get notification on windspeed outside? Thanks.peace bro.
Lol. I know that might be a joke, but that's actually a good idea
How does the steering wheel material feel? Looks rather cheap on video. Of course the leather on the RS looks much better.
It honestly doesn't feel bad at all. It doesn't feel cheap imo
sweet. I’ll be leasing this sometime next year. Great video!
@@davidmargaryan5790 Thank you!
I agree with @703's comment. I test drove both the Sport and RS last week. To me, both the Sport's non-leather wrapped and the RS's leather wrapped steering wheels felt no different other than the presence of stitching on the RS's wheel.
150 is "low horsepower"???
Yes
It’s been roughly standard horsepower on compact cars for a long time now. Only online gearheads will complain about it.
Perfect car for teens especially me to afford.
How does the larger tires affect the interior noise?
Not too bad.. definitely quieter than the previous generation for sure
I like the Impreza because it falls I my price range but it hunk I will pass on it because it is not manual. Shame on all manufacturers for killing the manual tranny.
Agreed!! A lot of people still enjoy driving manual! These manufactures have to understand that, especially Subaru with the Crosstrek and Impreza!
I'm sure the Sport compares to the RS a lot better than the RS compares to the RS if you know what I mean.
The '24 RS is quicker than the RS of 20 years ago. The videos of the old RS are on RUclips, just compare.
How about visibility? Old farts like me need to know.
Lol.. It’s good in my opinion, but blind spot monitoring is a nice help :)
Better cross of the Mazda 3 hatchback if you want visibility.
Now my car to buy!
Got my 24 sport few weeks ago (Sapphire Blue ) love it so far. Great bang for the buck. Would be nice to permanently disable auto start stop as I sometimes forget to turn it off.
@@gramb5611 You chose the best color!
All manufacturers should stop making cars with manual driver seat 🤷 it's the 21st century
Very good car for daily driving. Greetings
No spare is a deal breaker.
You can buy a spare tire from the dealer and there’s a compartment for it under the trunk floor.
In an "Alex on Autos" review of the 2024 Impreza here on RUclips, he demonstrates how the fix-a-flat kit area can be lifted out. Alex then shows the attachment point for a spare tire (around the 7:37 mark in Alex's review) and mentions how it's possible to use the Crosstrek's parts (since they're both built on basically the same body platform).
I have a tire repair kit and 12v compressor in my truck and I haven’t dropped the fulll size spare in 4 years except to rotate tires. I’ve had 3 flats and fixed them all without pulling the tire. And I’d say that’s more than normal because I’m in and around construction sites a lot so the 2 screws I picked up were almost certainly came from that. Not sure about the one rusty nail… maybe it was on the road. Aggressive treads also seem to be expert at lifting pokey stuff up and orienting it straight into the tire.
So, they gave the BETTER WHEELS to the non-RS Sport trim, while the RS gets the uglier all black wheels.
That's a BOOOOOO if you're planning on buying the RS, but a nice bonus if you only want the Sport 2.0NA
The all black RS looks amazing. Yet, I agree that the wheels on the sport look cool. I like the silver sport myself.
WTF 153HP in 2023? Great car for a college girl.
Lol
@@703Speed I'd buy one but I'd have a Fueltech installed and remap it, and put a better filter and exhaust, you can bring it up to 190 WHP. I had a WRX 10 years ago but boxers IMHO need to be aspirated , if you want them to last 200-300K miles with minimal or no repairs.
I worked at a Subaru dealer for many years. CVT transmission sucks! Shifts terrible and unreliable.
For the life of me I can’t see myself driving anything else but manual.
Kids! Lousy review on a probably good car. Will lilely get one...issues is whether to buy extra 3K for 30 extra HP with Sport vs RS. ??? No help in this review.
Interior looks dated
They went for a simplistic design that won't look terrible in 20 years. I for one think that these digital screens and stuff that all manufactures are using nowadays will look terrible in 15 years
agree. basic plastic but a huge touchscreen looks weird
A white Andrew Tate! 😲😯
What🤣🤣
Who in their right mind want to drive a manual anymore? Right, no one.
Not me! I moved to the USA after driving only manuals in the UK for 30 years. Glad to see the back of them.
Hold up! I drive a Toyota ‘Rolla, Honda Accord all manuals. Never gave Subaru any consideration a colleague lets me try his car for a week Impreza base model manual . Seriously considering avWRX just because it is manual I only drive manual. I live in Montreal. I just can’t see myself driving a CVT à what non manual car
Looks really good, but their software looks terrible in my opinion. A lot of competitors set themselves apart with their infotainment, especially Honda. Subaru's looks like an old android phone, and is also sluggish
Gadgets, gadgets,Sport with no Manual ? Grossly underpowered ! "Good'' to drive grandma to church on Sunday ! Shame on you Subaru !
Definitely needs a manual option
bruh chill you don't need 300 hp every day lol
@@icantdecideahandle I never wanted or drove 300Hp ! All i want is Manual Transmission so i would be able to drive the 150HP properly.
@@marksphotoperry356 sure buddy, sure
@@703Speed a manual transmission "and" the 2.5 (minimum) engine. I have an 2021 Impreza sport hatchback in manual transmission and I love driving it. Mpg currently is 24 city 26 hwy.
