A subtle detail that I love in this movie is when Gogeta smiles a little after he uses that move that looks like a glittery ball towards the end of the fight. That move is one of his strongest attacks and can destroy evil beings in I believe one hit or at least does an absurd amount of damage. But it has no effect on the pure of heart. It has no effect on Broly and Gogeta smiles because that lets him know that Broly is a good person.
Exactly! But also, while Vegito is a clown just as Goku, Gogeta more serious just as Vegeta. That's why even tho the Soul Punisher wasn't effective (i.e. Broly wasn't evil), Gogeta decided to pretty much delete him from existence with full power Kamehameha. But, this is DB after all. No one dies for good so Broly could be resurrected by the Kami or the Balls or the Zenos ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Their argument being that vegeto never gets the job done and plays with his opponents instead of finishing them which resulted in him being absorbed. Whereas in reality he was purposefully taunting buu to get absorbed to save his friends. Also in buu saga, vegeto didn't know that he had a time limit so he didn't see the need to deal with the situation quickly that's why he decided to save his friends instead of eradicating buu and reviving them later
I am not joking when I say that when I watched this fight in the movie for the first time I actually teared up. My two favorite Dragon Ball characters of all time, finally cannon AND they are fighting. The animation, the music, the action, everything is perfect. Best movie ever.
I still remember back when they announced that the Dragon Ball Super anime was gonna go on hiatus so they could put more effort into making this movie. I was at the time FURIOUS because the last 2 movies weren't really anything to right home about and I just wanted more dragon ball (battle of gods was cool but the climax was just to short). Then I found out it was about Broly; a fan favorite character myself included, then it's leaked that Gogeta's going to be involved, my preferred fusion. Then they confirm this is all canon part of the story. And then it releases and the amount of care and passion in every minute of this movie was all worth it, the whole thing was pure perfection. I really got humbled lol.

And a who I believe goku black/zamazu who is a great villain and the return of vegito (my preferred fusion). However the anime is good but the manga version is even better bringing things like Vegeta’s new attack, goku hakai, and the tactic of being in ssg and turn ssb right before they hit. With manga they also clear up more information that fans didn’t know for example people thought that ssr was equivalent to goku,s ssj whereas in the manga we see that goku black himself can actually turn ssj which means ssr is the equivalent to ssb. The T.O.P bought a few good moments but as a whole wasn’t the best. That’s just my opinion.

Zamasu is lame AF and the whole arc is travel to same spot in the future, then back to same spot in present, repeat non stop. I love the fact that the Fusion has to time out and it takes 30 minutes to be able to re-fuse, which means an hour in total. So before Gogeta showed up, Broly had been beating Freeza's ass for a solid 2 hours.
Don when u seen the glass shard looking like thing breaking that was actually reality shattering cuz it couldn't contain them, and well after that we seen a lvl of immeasurable speed from both Gogeta and broly as they went back to before broly destroyed the crust of the plannet in that area
7:01 the rainbow colored attack is called soul punisher, and it was first used in another movie, where Goteta made his first appearance. The attack is only effective against evil people, while it can still do damage against pretty much anyone it hits, it’s real effect is against evil foes where it will obliterate them completely

Someone correct me if Toriyama or someone else official has explained this better, but this is how I've always interpreted the "break the dimension" scene: They're not actually breaking or damaging anything, as evidenced by their return to an intact Earth. Instead, the power of their attacks opens a hole in the universe by literally pushing aside all other creation, including space itself, leading into what is conceptually similar to the Upside Down in Stranger Things, meaning a dimension behind the dimension of reality, where things you do there won't affect things on the outside. Yes, that's not exactly how the Upside Down works, but it's the closest thing I could think of. Especially the chaotic wasteland version before Vecna shaped it. Anyway, when they're in there, another clash of similar power simply shifts them back into the first dimension rather than just destroying everything.

This might be my number one favourite battle in all of dragon ball, Not only does this just look gorgeous all the way, but the battle it self is intense, well paced and has amazing choreography, and the music… this movies battles is one of the reasons why Broly is my favourite Dragon ball movie. 🐉
And Broly tanked all those hits without dropping. Imagine how strong he would get, if that fight kept going. It's probably why Gogeta didn't try to prolong it, and actually went for a kill

Golden Frieza is not really a new form at this point. It debuted in the movie “Resurrection F”, alongside Super Saiyan Blue in 2015. Fun Fact: Golden Frieza is Frieza’s 5th transformation. 6th if you count his Full Power form as a separate transformation from his 4th form. Another fun fact: The sparkly rainbow ball attack Gogeta used against Broly is none other than the Stardust Breaker, or Soul Punisher as it’s also known as. It does damage depending on how much evil resides in the targets’ soul. When Gogeta used it against Super Janemba in the movie “Fusion Reborn”, it completely annihilated Super Janemba because Janemba was literally comprised out of pure evil. However, it didn’t have the same effect on Broly because Broly isn’t nearly as evil, just lost and misguided.

That said though, Goku and Vegeta have gotten so much stronger after the TOP arc that even Goku alone would be able to beat Vegito Blue from the arc prior, meaning Gogeta Blue is a lot stronger than Vegito Blue was in the Goku Black arc.

The move shown here 6:57 is called "Stardust Breaker" and is Gogetas signature move. In another non canon movie it showed that this ball of energy alone could disintegrade the evil of being, in that instance, Janemba who was pure evil disintegraded entirely by simply coming into contact with the attack.
No, the Broly vs Goku fight is not "apparently horrible" it's a fantastic fight. The fact is, the main fight of the entire movie is the Gogeta/Broly one. The whole movie builds up to it
imagine if broly actually knew how to fight, the guy is just raw power and brute strength. Very little martial arts and he literally was learning how to fight as he fought goku and vegeta. If he knew martial arts hed give gogeta a tougher fight.
Broly could possibly be the most powerful being in Universe 7, possibly in other Universes too. He was able top compete with both Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms (besides Ultra Instinct) and he hadn't even gone Super Saiyan yet. We only got to see Broly up to his full powered SSJ form, and he was able to compete with Gogeta SSJ. Could you imagine if Broly unlocked SSJ 2 and 3 and maybe even the God SSJ forms? He'd be unstoppable.
If it was vegito, he would've played with broly the whole fight, gogeta wanted to end this quickly that's why he straight up went blue, vegito would've gone red form, just so he could play with him and still would've got the W

Interesting how the mechanics of fusion have changed. In the old canon which included GT and anime filler, Potara was permanent, with only the unique magical environment inside buu able to undo it. It was also straight up stated and confirmed to be more powerful than the fusion dance. In the old canon the fusion dance was also limited by enormous power, with super saiyan 4 gogeta having a shorter fusion time, even though both Goku and vegeta could go super saiyan 4 individually. In the old canon, potara was clearly superior, and there was hardly any logical debate that stated otherwise. Now, the new Canon is officially stated to be the DB/DBZ manga, and the super anime. With this change came several changes in the mechanics of fusion. Potara fusion is no longer permanent for beings that aren’t Kai’s. It only lasts an hour, and if the subjects are too powerful/ have divine ki, the time limit is DRASTICALLY reduced. This is a MASSIVE nerf. Furthermore, since elder Kai was wrong about the whole “permanent for everyone” thing, there is now doubt whether it is actually more powerful than the fusion dance, because if he was wrong about one thing he might be wrong about another. The fusion dance, in contrast, actually got BUFFED by the new canon. Instead of the fusion being stressed by large power like before, now the only reason a fusion time is reduced is if the fusion accesses a transformation that one or both of the participants are incapable of. Neither Goten nor Trunks could go super saiyan 3 by themselves, so when they did it as Gotenks, it reduced their time. However, since both Goku and Vegeta can go blue individually, blue gogeta got the full 30 minutes, even though super saiyan blue is much stronger than super saiyan 4. With these changes, debates have sparked up once again about which is better/who would win/which one is stronger. While I’m glad the fusion dance got a minor time limit buff that makes sense with the lore, I REALLY don’t like how much Potara fusion got nerfed. Potara fusion used to be so cool, and now it just… isn’t. Which is such a disappointment.
Yeah, after Gogeta went Ssj Blue, it was all over for Broly. No matter how much he powered up, no matter how much he ranged, no matter how much he screamed, he couldn't land a single hit on Gogeta Blue (and when they did clashed, Broly was the only one sent flying away 😅).
I'm sure someone else has said this but just in case fun fact when gogeta goes blue broly never lands a punch gogeta either blocks every attack or dodges

Another fun fact: The sparkly rainbow ball attack Gogeta used against Broly is none other than the Stardust Breaker, or Soul Punisher as it’s also known as. It does damage depending on how much evil resides in the targets’ soul.
When Gogeta used it against Super Janemba in the movie “Fusion Reborn”, it completely annihilated Super Janemba because Janemba was literally comprised out of pure evil. However, it didn’t have the same effect on Broly because Broly isn’t nearly as evil, just lost and misguided.
It definitely should of been a mix of both of their attacks, which they do have called the "Big Bang Kamehameha "

further proved by the fact that the Potala fusion (aka. Vegito) lasts an hour, while the Yardrat dance fusion (Gogeta) last at most 30 minutes and the timer is further reduced if the fused form is too strong
@@lythosbasement1057 That's actually completely wrong. That would make Gogeta exponentially stronger than Vegito when Vegito in reality is quite a bit stronger. That said though, Goku and Vegeta have gotten so much stronger after the TOP arc that even Goku alone would be able to beat Vegito Blue from the arc prior, meaning Gogeta Blue is a lot stronger than Vegito Blue was in the Goku Black arc.

The move shown here 6:57 is called "Stardust Breaker" and is Gogetas signature move. In another non canon movie it showed that this ball of energy alone could disintegrade the evil of being, in that instance, Janemba who was pure evil disintegraded entirely by simply coming into contact with the attack.

No, the Broly vs Goku fight is not "apparently horrible" it's a fantastic fight. The fact is, the main fight of the entire movie is the Gogeta/Broly one. The whole movie builds up to it
imagine if broly actually knew how to fight, the guy is just raw power and brute strength. Very little martial arts and he literally was learning how to fight as he fought goku and vegeta. If he knew martial arts hed give gogeta a tougher fight.

So Gogeta wasn't cannon until this movie. Goku and Vegeta always did potara earring fusion, which is Vegito.

Broly could possibly be the most powerful being in Universe 7, possibly in other Universes too. He was able top compete with both Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms (besides Ultra Instinct) and he hadn't even gone Super Saiyan yet. We only got to see Broly up to his full powered SSJ form, and he was able to compete with Gogeta SSJ. Could you imagine if Broly unlocked SSJ 2 and 3 and maybe even the God SSJ forms? He'd be unstoppable.

Interesting how the mechanics of fusion have changed.
In the old canon which included GT and anime filler, Potara was permanent, with only the unique magical environment inside buu able to undo it. It was also straight up stated and confirmed to be more powerful than the fusion dance. In the old canon the fusion dance was also limited by enormous power, with super saiyan 4 gogeta having a shorter fusion time, even though both Goku and vegeta could go super saiyan 4 individually. In the old canon, potara was clearly superior, and there was hardly any logical debate that stated otherwise.
Now, the new Canon is officially stated to be the DB/DBZ manga, and the super anime. With this change came several changes in the mechanics of fusion. Potara fusion is no longer permanent for beings that aren’t Kai’s. It only lasts an hour, and if the subjects are too powerful/ have divine ki, the time limit is DRASTICALLY reduced. This is a MASSIVE nerf.
Furthermore, since elder Kai was wrong about the whole “permanent for everyone” thing, there is now doubt whether it is actually more powerful than the fusion dance, because if he was wrong about one thing he might be wrong about another.
The fusion dance, in contrast, actually got BUFFED by the new canon. Instead of the fusion being stressed by large power like before, now the only reason a fusion time is reduced is if the fusion accesses a transformation that one or both of the participants are incapable of. Neither Goten nor Trunks could go super saiyan 3 by themselves, so when they did it as Gotenks, it reduced their time. However, since both Goku and Vegeta can go blue individually, blue gogeta got the full 30 minutes, even though super saiyan blue is much stronger than super saiyan 4.
With these changes, debates have sparked up once again about which is better/who would win/which one is stronger. While I’m glad the fusion dance got a minor time limit buff that makes sense with the lore, I REALLY don’t like how much Potara fusion got nerfed. Potara fusion used to be so cool, and now it just… isn’t. Which is such a disappointment.
The only problem thing is that the fight you're watching has parts that skip there's a lot of things missing skips like every 2 minutes

Yeah, after Gogeta went Ssj Blue, it was all over for Broly. No matter how much he powered up, no matter how much he ranged, no matter how much he screamed, he couldn't land a single hit on Gogeta Blue (and when they did clashed, Broly was the only one sent flying away 😅).
