The fact that manufactured goods are mostly made overseas is not a raru. There are people in China asking why are we buying logs, milk powder, beef, lamb, seafood and kiwifruit from Aotearoa.
Did Maori have a flag historically? I didnt think they did. Carvings and things like that were more their thing i thought. Perhaps a flag was adopted once they saw cpt Cook
A flag is just a tohu on cloth. Cloth didn't exist as we know it today, but tohu were an intrinsic part of Māori culture. There is also no reason te ao Māori can't grow and adopt new ideas, like using cloth for their tohu.
The flag that has no mana, no Authority, no historical meaning... came from a colouring in competition... He wakaputanga is our REAL Maori flag not this bullshit flag
It has mana now, and it has plenty of historical meaning nowadays we've used it in a lot of situations, it's us the people that give things mana and this flag is one of them.
Maori have been using popular brand logos like the Nike tick and Adidas by printing merchandise with added koru patterns into them and selling them off because they know these established logos are popular with people. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.
education is the key too understanding what the Maori flag represented in the 1st instant & for the purposes of identifying ourselves as Tangata Whenua o Aotearoa walking along side of the British New Zealand flag in light of the treaty of Waitangi. The confederation of chief flag, the Maori kings kingitanga flag & The Maori Queens flag is who I identify myself too as Tinorangatiratanga & Manamotuhake. However, I fly none of these flags & the latter 3 flags I hold close to my heart of which fly's within me, while respect is given too the other two flags of whom others identify themselves too & I do see both these flags are greatly misused for all the wrong reasons.
