      How has it been treating you? Did you get a filter too?

  • @James1987F
    @James1987F Год назад +2

    You have several instructional videos for this system. This is the most recent and so I followed it. There are some key inconsistencies between this video and the ones you posted from several years ago. This one says to install the internal cup filter onto the control valve before screwing it in and one of the prior videos says to not use it. This one says to leave the outlet in bypass mode until the initial regeneration is completed and the previous ones vat both valve in bypass. I suppose the rational is to keep the new resin tank contaminants out of the house water. But, what this video doesn't tell you is that you will be without water to the rest of your house during that 90 minute initial regeneration. I suggest possibly eliminating the previous older videos if they have incorrect information and maybe edit this one to warn people that their water will be off for 90 minutes. Other than that, great video, much preferable to trying to follow an instruction manual no matter how well written. I also paused to follow the video specific to programming the meter at the appropriate time which, I highly recommend others to do as well.

    I have 22mm copper pipe plumbing. What kind of installation hose would work for the hookup? I measured the inlet threads on the water softener, and they're well over an inch. Thanks!

  • @thebigjoe
    @thebigjoe Год назад

    Plumbers tape is made of metal or plastic and is used for supporting pipes under the house or in the attic. Teflon tape is used for sealing pipe threads. Stop confusing the two.

    I'm installing my system and I have a question. The brine well has caps at the top and bottom of it. Are these kept installed, or discarded before installation? Thanks!

    • @AplusWaterLLC
      @AplusWaterLLC  Год назад +1

      Hi, We recommend keeping both caps installed. The purpose of these caps is to prevent salt from reaching the safety float, potentially causing harm to the float assembly. Hopefully this helps! - Aplus Water

      Great question! We notice they tend to get clogged pretty easily causing a loss of pressure through the system. It just ends up being a hassle to clean it out every so often rather than just leaving it out. Hope that helps!!- Aplus Water

    The video states that a water filtration system should be installed AFTER the water softener, but almost all guides I've seen say to install a filter on the entering side, not the leaving side. Can you guys clarify this please?

    • @AplusWaterLLC
      @AplusWaterLLC  Год назад

      Hi! I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to in the video. We say to always make sure any filtration systems are plumbed in after the pressure tank. It is very important that the system goes after the pressure tank. In the case of your comment where you might have multiple filters in place, it depends on your individual setup and water quality which one will go first. Hopefully that helps clarify things!!

      @@AplusWaterLLC. What are you referring to as the pressure tank? The resin tank?

    • @AplusWaterLLC
      @AplusWaterLLC  10 месяцев назад +2

      Pressure tanks are used to store water from your well and pressurize it so that you have adequate water pressure throughout the home. This helps to prevent any pressure spikes that may damage your water treatment equipment. Any sort of water filter needs to be installed after the pressure tank, if you have one, for this reason. Most city water applications do not use a pressure tank. The resin tank is completely different and part of your water softener system. Hope that helps! @@2old4allthis

    Can you replace the manual valve control with a digital one?

    • @AplusWaterLLC
      @AplusWaterLLC  4 месяца назад

      Hi! Yes! Most of the time, replacing a mechanical valve with a digital valve is an easy, direct swap. - Aplus Water

  • @paulh6591

    Does Fleck sell a wrench to remove the head assembly? I have an oler model, and even after releasing pressure, it's on too tight to unscrew by hand.

    • @AplusWaterLLC
      @AplusWaterLLC  6 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately there are no wrenches to remove the valve. It sounds like yours may have been overtightened when it was installed. Most of the time, the valve unscrews fairly easily by hand. I would say keep trying your best, but be very careful not to damage the threads of the tank! If the threads are damaged you'll need a whole new tank. If you end up installing a new valve (or reinstalling your old one), be sure to only put the valve on until it is snug and secure. Also, be sure to not use any sort of pipe dope or teflon tape on this connection. A little lubricant and some elbow grease should get the valve on just tight enough to have a secure connection without making it impossible to remove the valve in the future.- Aplus Water

      @@AplusWaterLLC Thanks- maybe I'll use a strap wrench. That Fleck 5600 SXT digital head you have here... would it be a direct swap for my old motor-drived 14-day Fleck brine unit unit, so I can keep the old tank, which still looks good? The old Fleck had developed a hairline weep leak, I'm tired of hearing the little clock driver motor, and the unit hasn't been serviced for years so I need new beads anyway. While I'm at it I'd like to update the head unit. My other option would be to not use a softener- I've had this one on bypass for the last few months, now I'm toying with discarding/gifting it or fixing it up.

    Was Going to add this in addition to my water softener that i am going to re-bed right (anotherwords remove the gravel/Resin and replace it) now I was thinking of adding this in edition to the water softener do you advise this? I have also heard that there is no regulation of products like this out there. so many dealers sell these as a Band aid on a Bullet hole. type of situation. Some work and some are a Gimmick. Some will not do very much and if so not for Very Long. Can you Speak on this. Only Reason i say this is i know that most well systems will not produce H2O Or water one would want without Salt and Chlorine and the only way to get rid of the Sulfur or Rotten Egg Smell is to use a Water Aerator So another words spraying the water into the air to help Separate the water from the Sulfur Gas with Chlorine after you Oxidize the sulfur Gas if the iron is 5 PPM this system will clog pretty quickly correct me if im wrong and please let me know. Also non Chlorinated water is a breading ground for Bacteria as well? Now i know a little bit about this I would like to hear your thoughts on this. I don't know everything but Lets say I paid real close attention in AP Chemistry. I would like to hear your thoughts on this Please ? I see this is a 4 year old video but nothing changed in this process in 4 years its still the same Principle of H2O (Water) Iron Sulfur (FES) gas Chlorine ( CL) and Water Aeriation so to speak? Please Advise? Ps anyone reading this remember if you have a water filter with a clear housing. i know you think this is great so you can see how dirty the filter is but when you expose water to light sunlight but light in general you are making it worse you will now have Algae in your water so a clear housing is a no no. Im not trying to be a post troll i just know a little about this? Please Advise I am not saying your wrong or that this wont help but fpr how long and at what Maintenance cost ? not a set it and forget it type there is just no way.

    How do I know my tank size?

    • @AplusWaterLLC
      @AplusWaterLLC  Год назад

      Hi, Most tanks will have a sticker somewhere on them that shows the size. It is usually found along with the serial number. For example, on our tanks the sticker says “operating specifications” and there is a section called “color and size”. Here you will see 4 numbers depicting the size, 1054 or 1248 for example. If you can’t find the size on your tank, you can also just measure the tank!- Aplus Water
