In America, back when that song was written, Sunday mornings were dedicated to being with the family, church, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything was placed on the back burner and guys would spend their whole day relaxing with their family, friends, girlfriend, boyfriend, and wives. Guys would just chill with those close to them....

I am a guitarist ....so my reaction was totally jaw-dropping when I first heard Thomas McClary's brilliant solo. That is truly "Real." It is considered to be legendary.
Your first reaction was Dimash singing “hello”. A few months later you reacted to Kenny Rogers singing “lady”. Both songs were written by Lionel Ritchie who also wrote and sang “easy”. Try “three times a lady” next!
That is Lionel Ritchie singing. This is my favorite Commodore song. They had many hit songs, Three Times A Lady, Sail On, Just To Be Close To You, and many others. Lionel also had many hits as a solo artist, with hit songs such as Hello, and All Night Long. Great reaction to a great song.
One of my favorite songs. Another great song is September by Earth, Wind and Fire. It always brings a smile to my face on even the worst of days and makes you want to dance.
"Easy like Sunday morning" because in the "old days" almost EVERYTHING was closed on Sundays. So there was nothing to do, like the whole world took a break on Sundays.
Easy (Sunday morning), Sail On and Stuck on you. Three songs about a man leaving a bad situation with a woman and finding someone new. These songs were written different times but they are connected. Listen to them in order.
Great old school easy listening. Check out the song Nightshift by them, great tune. Easy like Sunday Morning means non stress, easy going. Sunday mornings you typically sleep late, have brunch and enjoy the day before Monday work week. ❤️
Sunday Afternoon/On a Late Sunday Afternoon! A Warm day With a Cool Breeze. A Rum and Coke with your best girl/man! With a big Joint. And seeing the sun slowly go down..... Yaaa Thats the tickit !!!!!!
Just a beautiful song that makes you feel so good, check out their catalogue so many great songs "Oh no" "Sail on" "Endless love"/Diana Ross "Lucy" "Still" "Nightshift"/after Lionel had left the band
Sunday was considered the Sabbath back then, a day of rest. All of America was off work, all government offices closed, most all other stores and public businesses, and restaurants closed. This was a day of rest and church. An easy day you didn't have to get up early, you'd go to church and spend the rest of the day with family or friends, think on things, especially spiritual things. Sundays had a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT feel to them. Everything was quiet, few if any cars on the road. I miss them!
The Commodores just keep giving, giving and giving....so do as many reactions to them you feel like..we'll enjoy "YOU" hearing them for the 1st time.... Saturday nites are quick, fast and wild...lol. A Sunday morning is soft, slow, sensual and all day to just take it easy....
Great reaction Empress, this was first released in 77 then again in 88. A huge hit at the time, just so easy on the ears. The Sunday morning reference is because after the stress of the week Sunday morning is when most people relax with a slow lazy day, so he likens his character to that feeling. I always did love this song so am really pleased you liked it too. Your hearts on your sleeve again! - keep them coming!
When you reacted to Kenny Rogers Lady, Kenny during the concert mention Lady was written and produced by Lionel Richie of the.Commodores, this is the Commodores and that was Lionel Richie singing lead vocals.
Sunday morning is the time you relax, maybe breakfast in bed, maybe not. But you know, you have 24 hrs before going back to the Rat Race. I'm retired, every morning is Sunday morning to me. I feel I earned it. 🤔😎🤗
you are on a roll hitting my fav songs!!! Legends!! Commodores! Lionel Ritchie, lead singer and songwriter and great solo artist. Lionel is Also one of the judges for American Idol as well. Sail On is another of theirs that is very cool.
As a kid I remember them playing in the Square in Tuskegee Al. Which is where they are from. THEN BRICKHOUSE came out and the rest is history. .Sunday in the South is a day to relax, re energise and reflect on the good and bad : then remove the bad.
Sunday mornings are laid back and relaxing.Going to church,Spending time with family eating Sunday dinner together. And watching the game before going back to work on Monday. That's why it's easy like Sunday morning.
I think his reference to, beg stole and borrowed, is about living in poverty. You see I've done all these as I've been homeless. Sunday is no work day. Here in the U.S...U WORK all week. Saturday is relax and or have fun. Go out. But Sunday. Well thats sabath day. Our creator wishes this for us on this day. The day we remember that entity.
Sunday morning is staying late in bed - preferebly with the one you love - but also valuable if you’re there alone. Thinking and reflecting about your state of living at the moment - being lazy - before the coffee hunger drives you out of bed.
Sunday morning; get up late, have a relaxed coffee, read some, listen to music, talk to your partner, all the things you don't have time for during the week. BTW listen to the lead singer Lionel Ritchie sing "Hello'...
Thank you for your reaction to this beautiful song! Sunday is supposed to be a relaxed, chill time, free from work and commitments. Great vocals from Lionel Ritchie, and keep it real Empress JJ, like you suggest! why fake it?!???
Oh..Lady you miss so much growing up. But We lucky to see joy on your face when you now listen..When i come home an hear Mr.Richie Singing. I can be sure my man has put a bottle of wine in cooler. And we will sleep long into Sunday morning.
"Sunday Morning", back before the 1960's particularly, was and still is to certain religious belief systems, a day of REST spent w/family and friends and thanking "God" for what we DO have in our lives.
In our day the work week was followed by Saturday when we could play and Saturday nite was party time and Sunday morning you could stay in bed with your hangover. We were working for the weekend and Sunday we healed from excessive play
Beg, Steal., and Borrow = I've done everything I can think of. Easy like Sunday Morning = 7th day of the week, no work, just rest, Easy day. When listening to these older songs you have to realize they aren't meant to be taken at face value, there were sayings and things back then.
You should do a reaction video of Roy Orbison’s “The Comedians”. Take the version from “A Black and White Night”. A great song, fantastic lyric’s and the biggest voice of all. Even Elvis Presley praised him highly.
Did you know that lead singer is Lionel Ritchie who wrote the song "Lady" that Kenny Rodgers made famous? I think you reacted to "Lady." Anyway, nice song choice and reaction.
Times change. The average 25-year-old never experienced Michael Jackson. And this song is probably from 1977 or 78. That's the equivalent to the 1920s for an older generation. Plus these songs don't get played on the radio any more. Even a typical 30-year-old or even a 40-year-old does not know the song "Honky Tonk Woman" even exists.
This song, awsom. I remember when I was a freshman but Jr prom about to go down. Had to ask the hottest black girl. [ East Tennessee boy here. ] best dance ever. She died 3 days later cause of black on black killings, gang shooting. No mainstream media covered that.... She was shot being next to brother.
Having watched a number of your reactions, I can tell you really like the beautiful, emotional songs. I've got a great one for you... "I've Been Searchin' So Long" by Chicago. I'm sure you'll love it!
In America, back when that song was written, Sunday mornings were dedicated to being with the family, church, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sunday morning, to me, is just a kicked backed and relaxed feeling!!
U could use the term "Peaceful" ♠W.G.
it's just about being yourself, being alive and just enjoying the feeling of being alive...not stressing
This is when Lionel Richie was still with them. He's one of the best song writers around.
I am a guitarist ....so my reaction was totally jaw-dropping when I first heard Thomas McClary's brilliant solo. That is truly "Real." It is considered to be legendary.

Indeed 😉👌
"Sail On" and "Still" have the same vibe as "Easy."
"Still Loving you" by The Scorpions
One of my favorite songs. Another great song is September by Earth, Wind and Fire. It always brings a smile to my face on even the worst of days and makes you want to dance.

The Commodores ruled the soul, R&B charts mid 1970's to early 80's. Epic sound! I absolutely dig this group!!
“Unbreak My Heart” by Toni Braxton. In my opinion, she has the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard.
Yes!!
Great old school easy listening. Check out the song Nightshift by them, great tune. Easy like Sunday Morning means non stress, easy going. Sunday mornings you typically sleep late, have brunch and enjoy the day before Monday work week. ❤️
When you decide that you feel like exploring The Commodores further, I think I would recommend "Still" for you. Might make you cry.
Sunday Afternoon/On a Late Sunday Afternoon! A Warm day With a Cool Breeze. A Rum and Coke with your best girl/man! With a big Joint. And seeing the sun slowly go down..... Yaaa Thats the tickit !!!!!!

You have a gorgeous smile. I watch...just to watch you smile to the music.

HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the best easy listening torture songs of all time!!!!

Love this song and great reaction! You actually listen and feel the music-🥰

I always did love this song so am really pleased you liked it too. Your hearts on your sleeve again! - keep them coming!
Richie described the phrase as being evocative of small Southern towns on a Saturday night, such as his hometown of Tuskegee, Alabama.
They had loads of hits, Sail On is another good one.
Love their music! Motown greats. Please do One Less Bell To Answer by the Fifth Dimension. Gorgeous song!
the band "earth, wind and fire" and the song 'September"!!! You are going to love it!!!
When you reacted to Kenny Rogers Lady, Kenny during the concert mention Lady was written and produced by Lionel Richie of the.Commodores, this is the Commodores and that was Lionel Richie singing lead vocals.
The singer is Lionel Ritchie...He wrote Lady for Kenny Rogers...
Lionel Ritchie at his finest here. This song is greatness! Empress, your smile is killing me. 😍
This song makes me think about my brother who is no longer with us. He loved this one!
Sunday morning is the time you relax, maybe breakfast in bed, maybe not. But you know, you have 24 hrs before going back to the Rat Race. I'm retired, every morning is Sunday morning to me. I feel I earned it. 🤔😎🤗

You would really like Sail On by the Commodores.
A very familiar song. When I did an audio engineering course many years ago a local band came in to play this song which we had to record, mix, etc.
Sunday morning is staying late in bed - preferebly with the one you love - but also valuable if you’re there alone. Thinking and reflecting about your state of living at the moment - being lazy - before the coffee hunger drives you out of bed.

Sunday is a day of rest in the Christian tradition. Easy laid back sunday morning has it's own feeling.
Lionel Ritchie (the singer) wrote "Lady" for Kenny Roger's! "Easy" refers to the laid back feeling on Sunday mornings.
this man has a brilliant voice love most of his music.👍
Great review, as always.
Please dive into Ashford and Simpson, two angels whose love comes through their voices and famous songwriters for many years. 🙏💕
Hi, Easy like Sunday morning means Sunday is the day you do not have to do anything (most people don't work). So relax take it easy.
Please you have to listen this song from Faith No More....live......great voice(and their song Epic)!
Nice, love this song...
Faith No More did a pretty good cover of this song..smooth as

It's such a nice, sweet, mellow song you forget it's about a breakup.
Love your eyes, they are amazing

Recomended: "Sentimental Lady" of Bob Welch.
Faith No More does such a great cover of this. Considering the music they usually make, it’s really quite a surprise.
Can't go wrong with The Commodores
Where have you been you've never heard this this song is famous all over the world
One day you'll understand that songs you think everyone knows aren't actually songs that everyone knows.

Sleeping in, breakfast in bed. Church optional. No worries but the Sunday paper.
