- When it comes to planning out and creating your character, for a lot of people, it’s half the fun of an rpg. Thanks to Galax for sponsoring this video.
Building your character isn’t easy to wrap your head around in Cyberpunk. You have attributes, which play many roles, skills, which govern many things, and perks, which wrap a nice big bow on your character - as well as items and cyberware choices. But most choices will be locked in from the start. So in this video I will give you the ultimate top level overview of everything you need to know, minus any spoilers, so you understand how to play exactly the way you want to.

The thing is when ever i play RPGs, no matter my initial intentions for a character, they always somehow end up as a stealth archer lol
This is the first RPG I've ever played aggressively. I can't get enough slow Mo revolver action and mantis blades.

I love this game so far. It starts slow, but when the things go down it get so interesting. The combat is amazing so far. IGN review said that melee wasn't good, but i found it the oposite. Went full reaction/body build with Katana + Asault rifles. Mostly i kill everyone with katana.
One of the best thing in the game is the atmosphere. As soon as you slow down and adapt to the pacing of the game you just start to live in that world.
Right the combat is so good it took me a bit getting used to the controls and feel but it’s shinning now
The world is great. Never know what you're going to find. It's rewarding unlike some other *cough Ubisoft* open world games

I just got into the attributes / perks last night and it was pretty fucking overwhelming in it's presentation. Like I don't think it's that insane in reality, but just the way to evaluate everything is not presented too clearly. So it's super helpful to have a run down.
Kinda late but you can buy a perk re roll I forgot the location but it’s at a merchant in the country

I'm gonna be a corpo hitman, so hacking and stealth kills with a touch of poison and throwing knives.
This is my leanings as well. The idea of stealth throwing daggers and hacking NPCs to shoot themselves somehow brings a smile to my twisted gamer face.
Also going to be a Corpo hit man. Just not a subtle one. I'm basically gonna be Jax from Mortal Kombat. Just brutalizing cats with gorilla arms and occasionally pulling out the Shotty or MG when the knuckles just won't quite get the job done. Maximum impact because my bosses can pay for the cleanup.
That was my mindset at first as well! That's what I really want. But logically I think I will start with the nomad. Nomad doesn't know night city, just like me. And the corpo, knows it all. So probably doing nomad dude first and then becoming full stealth ninja corpo bitch next hehehe
Throwing knifes were a let down man. Lmk if you find a way to grab them again once thrown

This is a great video. I just staggered through my first full story playthrough blind and barely scratched the surface of the content and felt I had no real direction. Excited to start over with this guidance!
If you plan on going with reflex and tech like I did make sure you find skippy. He levels with you so you'll always have a auto headshot weapon with nuts dps. Add the non lethal mod and a crunch mod and it's the perfect weapon for every situation.
Interestingly enough, looking at your attribute spread while going over the perks is basically how I planned to build my character.

am so glad I put attribute points in technical abilities but perk points in intelligence and cool
I plan on doing a "florida man" build. So basically investing into body, tech ability, and cool. basically im going for a more tank type build were i can do a bunch of wacky florida man stuff without reprecusions. and instead of focusing in technology im investing into enginerring and crafting because florida men dont have time for technology crap. And cool for the cold blooded perk. Also for the dialoague stuff. Because florida men are cool.
U already know mans is a nomad we don’t fuck with no city slickers

so basically you're going to make your character a Chad

this actually helped a lot. lookslikei ll be building more of a generalist than i thought because i want to focus on quickhacks and pistols but throwing knives is something i really wanted to be a big part of my character

Tech, Cool and Reflexes with minor Body and Intelligence for the bonuses seems fun.

This was seriously helpful! Made me change my mind about a couple of details of how I'll create my build.
So how should I go about making a "Predator" character?
- long range (sniper)
- stealth
- fancy gadgets
I'd wager a guess at Technical Ability, Cool and Reflexes. Since the first one can help you craft these fancy gadgets. Cool increases crit and damage from stealth. Reflex plays a part on sniper rifles.
I'd also recommend the mantis blades.
denton class is mine.
I'd say invest in Technical Ability, Body, Reflexes, and Cool.
Body and Reflexes for combat, door checks and stamina (I highly suggest investing more into Reflexes since you want to use a sniper. ), Cool (probs the highest) for all that Poison and lethal takedown shit, and Tech to craft what you need for your build.
For that build, the Mantis blades might be the best choice here, but the projectile launcher can also be considered when choosing arms cyberware.
Lastly, I guess you can work some clothes with a suit and a mask to make V look like a predator?
Anyways, that's my take on how you might do it.

Thanks for this guide. I played 4 hours (on XBSeX) last night and was so confused by the stats/perks which aren't explained at all in the game that I have several points unassigned because I didn't want to blindly nerf myself. This video helped a bit in sorting things out. Thanks.
There's a guide book for sale in Amazon that basically tells you all you need to know about builds, missions-quests, weapons, etc. If anyone is interested in it.

Now everyone that didn't want one yet will buy it when it comes out, but also now everyone knows that not only is it an amazing card -- it's also sold out immediately, meaning that it must be good (instinctively). Sometimes it's not about the single product, but selling the brand itself.

I maxed out reflexes with handgun just based on how godlike the intermission with johnny felt. Also rushing into enemies with handguns and blades gives it an old school Wolfenstein feel.

I usually default to stealth builds on RPGs so I'm going to change things around for Cyberpunk. Investing in body and technical ability will be my go-to for my first playthrough.

I'm going to be a Nomad, balls to the wall melee character that tanks anything and will absolutely turn anyone's face into a stutthof experiment.
I'll probably a corpo with emphasis on blades and long range rifles, with a focus on Tech, Intelligence, and Cool. Depending on how the crafting mechanic is, I might spend a lot of my time in the shop.

I was thinking the same thing. I want to make a cybernetic ninja who uses pistols and a katana, but I DON'T want to use stealth. It sounds like that will be doable

Got to this vid when googling whether distributing attributes equally is viable. Glad to hear it is. My dump stat is Intelligence but all the other stats seem to have something I'm interested in.

I’m thinking either a gunslinger build with a double barrel and a revolver with the nomad path, or a extremely strong melee build with either the corpo or street kid life path.
I’m a gunslinging nomad who opts to use a katana for short range 😎 so I’m basically a nomad ninja lol. I love it
I’m a cyber samurai street kid same level as the guy in video but my legendary sword does 655 damage 55%crit damage and 34%crit chance twice his damage with my build and has ridiculous armor/agility . It’s fun to move around faster than a blink of a eye bullets bouncing off my cybernetic armored body and slice through enemies like butter with one strike with the katana
The RTX ad makes this so bittersweet. Damn scalpers.

I hope that the choice like draw the weapon from opponent hand is depending on how much reflex do you have in your character, and it's not set to RNG % chance dependin on reflex or that it always works no matter what are your stats.
Probably a bit late but yes some interactions require certain attribute levels to do an action

Opponent much stronger than you will easily escape the chokehold etc

Here is the how to: You have 4 options, straight male, gay male, straight female, gay female. Pick one that's for you, play the side mission/ main missions and you get a romance scene.

Before even going into RPGs I always set a play style to follow so I dont get overwhelmed by the many choices that are available to me. For Cyberpunk I immediately wanted to go for a hacker/run and gun playstyle. So my main focus is to upgrade my hacking skills along with crit chance with weapons.

Thanks for the video, this was all I wanted to see or know before playing it for myself, because I wasn't sure which one would be good for how I plan to play. Just like with Fallout and some other games I wanted to use stealth with a Sniper and Melee weapons, I don't know why it's just fun to pick them off from a distance then take out a sword to stealth up close in games to me.

GUYS DONT GET THE SCRAPPER SKILL EVER!!
I actually thought it sounded really handy at the start but now i have relized that the bounty items from all the bounties are ”Junk” and the scrapper gets rid of them so you cannot get the money from the bounty item that are actually really valuable!!! Hopefully this gets fixed somehow bacuse the skill is garbage now
This skill will literally ruin your game tha bounties are main source of money in my opinion.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm VERY confused as to where I am at in the story line in my own personal game. I don't know if I'm still in the beginning, middle, or end. Maybe I'll just grind side missions.
You should be able to tell where you're at - the T-Bug/Dexter stuff is all Act 1, when you get to Act 2 there's a massive character introduced in a playable cutscene, then you'll get 'Act 2' on the side of your screen. I'm not far past that so I'm not sure how much more I've got on the main quest yet but keen to find out

Very helpful thank you, I now know to spec heavily into reflex and stealth but to trickle my other points into trees like athletics, and crafting, and hopefully a bit into Quickhacking too

I think the only skill tree that does penalise you for not buying into it is the Crafting skill, considering the ability to craft blues, epics and legendaries are locked behind a high skill level perk. Would have preferred your ability to craft items not being locked behind attribute points.
That is kinda lore-accurate though.
You cannot exist in Sci-Fi universe without a considerable tinkering skill. Hell, your body needs technical maintenance as well.
