I hope this becomes available on CD sometime. I've always thought that the 7th symphony was over-orchestrated, especially the 1st movement. To have a small ensemble perform the work would necessarily limit the "heaviness" of the full orchestra. I have a recording of B's 7th 9-piece wind ensemble called the Blaeserensemble Sabine Meyer, recorded in 1991. It's a lovely, scaled-down arrangement of my favorite Beehoven symphony.
