    PDF Cheat Sheet: bestpianoclass.com/60goal
Today’s lesson I’m going to cover a new easy way to learn songs on piano that’s been catching on recently. And it’s not sheet music, playing by ear, or using chords instead it’s the top down Synthesia style videos used by channels like HDPiano and other apps to learn popular songs like River Flows In You, All of Me, or Shape of You.
I’ve noticed a lot of adult beginners and self taught players have been using this method recently. So wanted to do a video covering if it’s a good way to learn. Or is it just a shortcut that’s going to hurt your playing in the long run.
    Here’s what we’ll cover:
    00:00 Intro
00:25 The NEW Way to Learn Songs on Piano
01:21 Tools to Make It 10X Easier
03:36 Learn 15 Songs in 60 Days (Full Gameplan)
06:14 The 4 Critical Steps to Learning Any Song
08:01 The BEST Tool to Learn Songs
    And more…
Make sure you stick around to the end for the 60 Day Gameplan Goalsheet, and to find out if this is really a good long term strategy to learn piano.
Oh, and btw if you’re a complete beginner, no worries, it’s a explained for beginners, and we take absolute baby steps to, nice and slow, and make sure you’ll get it frustration-free. Don’t forget to download the Cheat Sheet to make it even easier:

You can do it if you'ure very diligent on how you're practicing! For most pop songs, if you just learn one verse and one chorus, then it just repeats. If you're overwhelmed with that, a lot of students just skip learning the bridge and an audience won't notice anyway. Hope that helps!

Zack, excellent video! I have a question though...I own a Yamaha CSP-150 piano that has the lights showing you which notes to play, similar to the website you mention. However, for some reason, doing this, doesn't seem to create the muscle memory to learn the song! I used to write the note values on sheet music to learn a song score by score...thought buying the fancy piano would make it easy. Any words of wisdom to help an older guy to play better? Thank you.

Not to rain on this Parade but Synthesia (e.g., on iOS and Android) seems to offer similar approach, has a wide selection of songs by difficulty (plus you can import any MIDI, which is what I do) and is only one time payment of $5. Besides, there is a Free version with a lot of functionality. Obviously there will be Pros/Cons between any two products, but anyone looking at this should do some due diligence.
Best thing about Synthesis (besides import any song) is you can simultaneously display Live View of the actual sheet music (i.e., played notes get highlighted), making it a really good tool for also learning a song's underlying sheet music. Program has MIDI Bluetooth support, so optionally connectable to any digital piano/keyboard.

Seems like it doesn't really matter whether I use sheet music or using this style of learning or RUclips tutorials, it all comes down to getting hands together, the song I'm working on right now I could play the left hand and right in a week, the problem has been getting my hands to play together, I've spent 3 weeks on this and can finally play both hands but really slowly and its a simplified version of she'll be coming around the Mountain and its just simple quarter, half and whole notes.

the real question is what style of music do you want to play and although like everyone we like to play everything but i find niching down in the beginning gives you the building blocks later for other genre but long story short if you want to learn history and play classical music it may be easier to go to school to get the right structure but if you want to just produce pop tracks or r&b and trap any of the "simpler" composition you can easily do that on your own and with zach course youll be off to a good start. I been in his program on off for 3 yrs but always find my way back to his program

I'm surprised there are still so many people who don't know you can slow down videos without changing the pitch of the notes. (I could have really used this when I was trying to learn Eddie Van Halen guitar licks. Back then, all we had were 2 speed reel to reel recorders, then after learning the notes we had to transpose them to the original pitch, as slowing the tape also lowered the pitch.) On the opposite end, you can save time watching less interesting videos by speeding them up. I regularly use 1.25 all the time.

4 days to learn a song, by time you move onto a few more songs you will have forgotten how to play the first one. I think this is a gimmick to get peoples money. Playing piano as well as any other instrument takes hard work and dedication, foundational skills are so important. We live in a world where people want gratification right now, buying into this will only make you frustrated when you find playing a song in 4 days might not be feasible for you, or the songs are so easy they start to bore you. Thanks but no thanks, I’m grateful I had a piano teacher and learned the old fashioned way, practice practice practice with the wonderful accomplishment of being able to play anything I want. Your never to old to learn any instrument correctly, remember you wouldn’t build your house without a foundation.

don't be so quick to be skeptical , honestly this dude is far from a gimmick i been in his program for over 3 years and hes know how to teach very well and hes not trying to take your money his whole program offers your money back but keep in mind of yourself when it comes to youtube video theyre not directly speaking to you , so if you don't believe you can do that in that amount of time then you can still use the same formula but try 2 weeks instead of 4 days then get down to a week an so on. I wrote this comment so you can take action from where your at and also not lose out on a great teacher
