You can get the crystal snail heart tank without the chain. Just tap the jump (hover while in the mech) rather than holding it. You will have JUST enough to then jump out and reach the ledge.

If you're scrolling by, here's some extra methods not shown in the video you can also use:
01:35 - Morph Moth Heart Tank can also be gotten by using a 'neon jump' trick which needs both the Arm and Leg Upgrades and requires you to air dash and fire a stored charge shot on the same frame. This gives you a second jump that lets you reach the wall (there are tutorials on 'neon jumping' on youtube). Just using Crystal Hunter is much easier, but eh the option is there if you wanna try it.
02:57 - Overdrive Ostrich Heart Tank can be gotten without any items/upgrades by riding the bike all the way from the desert section of the level. Just make sure to hold down the dash button at all times so the bike is going maximum speed, and shoot down the walls in the way as you go. If you crash the bike early, you can backtrack to its spawn point and use it again. Also, the bike turns around *really* slowly, so you gotta turn around just before hitting the Heart if you want to get the Heart but not crash into the spikes just past it.
3:30 - Wheel Gator Heart Tank can also be gotten by dash jumping and using a charged Speed Burner in mid air to get to over the spikes. The use of invincibility frames, as in the video, is better though, since it requires no items/upgrades (using Strike Chain like in the video is optional).
3:48 - Crystal Snail Heart Tank can be gotten without any items/upgrades (i.e. Strike Chain) if instead of holding the jump button while flying, you very rapidly tap the jump button. This gives you a ton more air-time and lets you get all the way to the other side without needing to jump out of the ride armor.
4:33 - Magna Centipede Sub Tank can be gotten without any items/upgrades if you are fast enough: if you jump past those six falling blocks early (i.e. jump after the first 2 have fallen) there is another falling block behind them that you can jump on and ride to simply dash-jump to the underhang up to the Sub Tank. If you don't get it on the first try though, you'll have to kill yourself to get another shot.
4:51 - Bubble Crab Sub Tank can be gotten without and items/upgrades (i.e. without charged Bubble Splash). For some reason, X jumps higher when he jumps while walking down a slope. Therefore, you can jump while running down the small slope on the left side of the platform up to the underhang to the left of the Sub Tank, then once you're at the top of the water, press the jump button tons really rapidly to stay on top of the water while you move to the right to get the Sub Tank.
06:43 - Arm Upgrade (Wheel Gator): You can reach the underhang easier using the Leg Upgrade by sliding down the smaller underhang to the right, then airdashing to the left as you fall off to reach the main underhang to get up the ceiling shaft. Also, you can make it to the main underhang without any items/upgrades via a simple dash-jump off the wall on the right, Strike Chain is not actually required. This is tricky though, and using Strike Chain as in the video does make it a bit easier.
11:48 - Shoryuken: If you take the alternate path in the level, you'll come to the gap in ceiling where you're supposed to drop down after getting the Shoryuken. If you use the 'neon jump' trick here from the ledge to the right of the ceiling gap, you can get up to the wall and climb up to the Shoryuken without having to do the tricky path as seen in the video.
Overall, the Leg Upgrade in Overdrive Ostrich's stage, the Heart Tank and Body Upgrade in Morph Moth's stage, and the Shoryuken in X-Hunter Stage 3 are the only heart tanks/sub tanks/upgrade capsules in the whole game that actually require any items/upgrades to get.
Another trick for the shoryuken is to go right under the pit under the capsule and freeze an enemy with crystal hunter. Jump at and at the peak of your jump, use giga crush. This will give you a small boost and let you wall jump to the shoryuken.

Hello can you guys tell me how to use my armor power in x2 for switch am having hard time I already did upgrade but seem don’t know how to use it
BTW you can get the arm upgrade without strike chain. Just dash jump to the part above the pathway, then you should be able to make a slight wall jump and make it up.
For the heart tank on the overdrive ostrich stage I always got it by jumping the motorcycle off the ramp and riding it over the spikes

Go on the tiny ledge to the right and get on it. Fully charge the fire weapon (need arm upgrade) and dash jump to the left. At the peak of the jump release the fire power for an extra boost and you should make it to the gray box. Just wall jump your way up from there! Good luck!

What you need to do is go on the spot that he is, hit jump and then as you are the highest spot of the jump you just made, you have to SIMULTANEOUSLY hit JUMP +

They sure relied on the head armor to lay out the rest of the upgrades. Problem is that the head armor is also hard to come by if you don't decide to pick Crystal Snail's stage sooner than later.
This games level design is fucked.

I tried to get the street fighter secret move. I got to the part where it should’ve been in. There was no Castlegar. I have all the unlock balls and weapons and for help but nothings there I’m not really sure what to do.

This is easy to do, no matter what version(well, for me), it is done like this: You stand near the box, and jump, but at the same time you press the button many times and you need to make it so that it would make a wall jump, and because X is essentially hooked by a pixel, and in fact, it turns out.

magna centipede heart tank can also be gotten with s burner charge too
No way I've tried the air dash to super charge probably 100x as a kid maybe I was less precise back then but then again I found all of the locations of everything without a guide or internet so there's that as well. I found the easier way is to use the block that drops into the hole, just use Crystal snail's super charged ability slow time and jump off of it.
Fun Fact: You can actually get Wheel Gators Capsule without the Dash boots. You can either Wall Dash Jump, or carefully land the Chain from Wire sponge

I need a bit of help. I am working on the heart tank from Bubble Crab's stage since a few hours but I just can't get the extended wall jump to work (don't know the name, it's a wall jump but you get launched further than normal). Any help would be appreciated.
You don't go further than normal. The platforms are just at different heights. Just keep trying until you get lucky.

Hey, I got to the 2nd level of X hunter, and I can't find the area you talked about. The level I'm on is the one with the huge wall boss, which IS the second level. I got past the elevator, and the area you showed just wasn't the same.

The right way to do it is with charged flame weapon. The way he did it is a bit of a cheat.
I've been live streaming mine from my snes. Will I lose the shoryouken if I get it and beat the level and then get the password and shut my console off or will I keep it with that password?
I can't remember bu there is a password that allows you to start with gold armor but not the shoryuken. I think you have to get that every time you boot the cartridge.

Thanks for all the info because this is the first ever time I'm playing Mega Man X2 I played all the rest but not this one so yesterday I was getting my ass handed to me. So right now I am exploring seeing which boss I can beat. I just need that chest armor first.

Tried that and it failed so I had to go to try and beat the alligator and by some miracle I got my first heart tank I was like thank God even though I died a couple times I finally be alligator for couple of up grades. I did not get the Buddy peace here know what the bus to but I will thanks again.

I actually found that Wire Sponge Heart Tank on accident on my first playthrough because I like exploring in every single video game that isn't a Fighting game.
My favorite finds are always accidental. Makes me feel smort
I always found the parts where they want you to use the strike chain are way easier with the charged version of the speed burner.
Speed burner is massive help. The chain can be finnicky

Is there an easier way to get the heart tank on Wheel Alligator?
On the right is a rhino-tank enemy... let it hit you and then use the invincibility frames to quickly climb up the spikes beneath the heart tank.
MegaYoYo I truly appreciate this youtube video. I was having trouble with Sigma. Now I have Second Armor, more health, and all 4 Sub Tanks.
Zero boss battle is tough. Surges gets on my nerves. To be honest I already completed MMX2 with RHM on. I want to complete MegaMan X2 without Rookie Hunter Mode.
Do you have a favorite MMX video game? MMX5 is my favorite X can fight Zero and Zero can fight X. There's a training mode and it's the first MMX video game to have a difficulty setting. It's a dam good challenge and it's full of action.
Anyway thanks for the youtube video I am not afraid to ask for help when I am struggling.

What Sigma form was the hardest you've ever fought? I am going to say Kaiser Sigma MMX3 he pushed me to the limit. I had all 4 Sub Tanks, RHM on, and X had all four armor parts. Both forms 1st and 2nd were hard for me to defeat. X5 Sigma's Final Form was truly difficult I now there are multiple gamers who defeated him easily, I wasn't one of them!!

The charged bubble shield lets you jump higher under water.
1.Fully Charge the Bubble Splash so you can jump high in water.
2.Jump really high and as you see splashes, jump out and do a wall jump to reach the platform

I’ve tried doing this in the legacy collection on Switch and nothing happens. I got the shoryuken capsule, upgrades, sub tanks and a full health and I STILL CANT PULL OFF THE SHORYUKEN!
Thats because you need to use a sub tank after sliding down because the shoryuken only apears on full health and all items collected

The music for one of the X hunters stage is the normal stage music for one of the bosses in X6. It seems like they just reused some of their tracks.

What does it mean when you say doors will only open when x Hunter is in stage select
James Parker meaning that’s where you go if you’re fighting an x hunter in that level otherwise it’s a dead end.
I thinks I mayhap figured it out. On the stage select screen you actually see the xhunters as small sprites at first and then as Sigma's symbol on the stages they are in. There are more stages than the xhunters themselves so they move around if you die or beat a stage.
I always got the charge shot upgrade with our the grapple Hook but whatever
How many sub tanks can you take into your first x Hunter fight?
I think you can take one. I know for sure you can get Blizzard Buffalo sub-tank right after the leg upgrade.

Use a dash jump off the wall. If you time it right with the platform moving down you'll pull yourself out the water.

Good god, i had to attempt the subtank jump in Magna centipede's stage for like 10 minutes on a emulator a 0.25x speed
Believe me, it took me quite awhile of playing to get that jump just right.

Try using the leg upgrade to get there instead.

Secrets in Megaman X series always have a sort of intuitivity. How the hell are you supposed to deduce that throwing a saw here will open the floor ? 5:15

@@MegaYoYo A smart design is intuitive by definition. Capcom realised their mistake, that's why they fixed the helmet feature in Megaman X 3 by showing you the rough location of the items on a metroid style map instead.😀

For the heart tank in Magna Centipede’s stage, you can get the dash boots from Overdrive Ostrich’s stage, then once you get over there, go to the side and get the giant block to move out of the way, then from there, you can do a dash jump to grab the lower down part of the ceiling there. It’s not super easy but it doesn’t take too long to get right, and you don’t hang on the wall too long, but you hang long enough for your brain to process you did it. Then from there, right after you fall of the wall, do your air dash and you should land on the block, allowing you to wall jump up and get it. It makes you feel like a badass and is way easier to do than whatever pixel perfect bullshit your doing
