11 years later and this is still the most crushing tone I've ever heard from you. Finally bought one and I'm currently waiting for the police to show up with a noise complaint.
I'm don't consider myself a pro engineer. I do have a degree though and I've also started and ran a studio in Stockholm couple of years back. Now I just sit at home and geek around ;)
It's crazy how much bite to the tone there is and no boost before the amp. Just fucking ridiculous. Ola is a tone master.This is my favorite vid/tone of his.
When I saw the ltd fx360 he uses for the solos in this video, I fell in love and knew I had to have one. I've had that guitar since 2011 and have owned other guitars ranging from under a grand, to my most expensive one at two grand. I still go back to this guitar the most for anything I play that is metal.
i know i already commented this twice yesterday but i just wanna say after listening to this song over 10 times already tonight, you're really inspiring me to practice HARD, one of my main dreams in life is just to get really good at playing, and if i can ever get to your level of playing, that dream will be complete. just wanna say thanks for the inspiration
i remember this was the first Ola vid i saw. Instantly subscribed. Its amazing to see how far you've progressed not only as a player but also how far your career has progressed through the years Ola.
Amazing playing and massive sound! Love the sound of the Savage. Biggest balls and super tight bass response/lower mids. One of my favorites with the Randall Satan, VHT/Freyette!
Just saw dying fetus with hatebreed and he played through a savage. He was the only guitar player, but used 2 mics on the cab and had the sound panned. It was crushing tone.
@Smit2k11 at last :) well the ltd 401 is a good guitar, it's not exactly the same anymore, they've changed a few things but it's still a great guitar. Very slick and smooth neck.
I usually return and watch this video only to get inspired, hear those sick riffs makes me play with more desire, and make an effort to record in a better quality.

13 years ago and still the best Ola's tone
And these leftover riffs went on to become one of the best Feared songs
+AJ Brown what song is it? I love those riffs
+Edward Camacho I'm not sure but I think it's Huldra from the Vinter album
+Edward Camacho Ok, I got it wrong. It's Forever Old from the Furor Incarnatus album haha
Thanks! ... amazing riffs
+Edward Camacho you're welcome, yeah they're the kind of riffs that make you want to look disgusted at how good they are. It's hard to describe lol
I'm don't consider myself a pro engineer. I do have a degree though and I've also started and ran a studio in Stockholm couple of years back. Now I just sit at home and geek around ;)
whelp, now you're sitting in your studio and geeking around. shit this was a long time ago...
It's crazy how much bite to the tone there is and no boost before the amp. Just fucking ridiculous. Ola is a tone master.This is my favorite vid/tone of his.
Lars would be proud of that snare
+Guitarrman HAHA
+Guitarrman so shitty snare, spot on!
Metaltronix
still one of my favorite sounding videos that you have ever done!
Адам Томпсон Agreed!!
Yep
I could honestly see Slipknot using this amp, if they already weren’t with orange and Rivera
This amp kills.
Superior amplifier!
hope you and your band make it BIG TIME!
10 years and still haven't heard as savage as this ....
Just bought a Savage!
still the best sounding video!
Man...The clean tone on these opening chords is just hauntingly good! I want an ENGL!
Just listening to these sick riffs is enough to make my day a lot better.
This is the video that started it all imo!
This is such a beautiful song.

Tight playing and awesome sound.
@jalmetalman It's the stock V8 and V7 pickups.

I've never heard something this tight, beautiful!!
One ENGL Savage, as listed on Guitar Center here in the US- $2,600.
bought one used in germany for 600bucks lmao
these riffs are one of the best ones that I have ever heared and it is 2020 :D its good to go back to this masterpiece, thanks Ola
The music is tough but you're able to make it breathe, and it's essential, and very delightful.
Please don't stop this, it's awesome !
i know i already commented this twice yesterday but i just wanna say after listening to this song over 10 times already tonight, you're really inspiring me to practice HARD, one of my main dreams in life is just to get really good at playing, and if i can ever get to your level of playing, that dream will be complete. just wanna say thanks for the inspiration
your picking hand is incredibly accurate
i love this stuff
Superb note separation when playing chords under distortion!!!
i really like all videos on your channel
keep rockin Ola!
i remember this was the first Ola vid i saw. Instantly subscribed. Its amazing to see how far you've progressed not only as a player but also how far your career has progressed through the years Ola.
4:42 that is such a Lamb of God style riff, i LOVE it
@FuelForFire87 I have never tried one but I probably will soon. I have no doubt though that it's an awesome amp!
Amazing playing and massive sound! Love the sound of the Savage. Biggest balls and super tight bass response/lower mids. One of my favorites with the Randall Satan, VHT/Freyette!
@gisenberg cool man thanks for sharing your experience!
Out of the zillion high end br00tal amp vids, this one stands out to me. The Savage is pretty legit!
Anyone in 2022 still digging these brutal riffs?
2024, bro
Classic Ola vids go hard
Just saw dying fetus with hatebreed and he played through a savage. He was the only guitar player, but used 2 mics on the cab and had the sound panned. It was crushing tone.
Man you're awesome man !
probably one of the best metal riffs i've ever heard in my life y'all.
@MrMetalmaggot yes you can, the channel 3 easily does crunchy metal. But if you want that extra modern metal sound the ch4 is the way to go.
thanks, it's a very nice guitar, plays really good and sounds awesome.
@Nezrimo It's Manure that sounds like this song.
I can never get enough 6:8 metal. Brilliant man!
@mexvj It's on the instrumental Feared album due 2012
dude the vocals are bad ass as well... its all freaking stellar..
I have been watching a lot of those older videos and they are rad !
You're on a level all your own, amazing attention to quality.
OMG!!! THIS HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDING AMPS I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!
finally Someone plays metal guitar demos with crushing metal rhythm instead of just playing 80's metal, shred and blues licks...
Wow....I'm digging this A LOT!!!
this is seriously one of the best fucking tones I've ever heard haha
Awesome ! Great playing, songwriting and sound!!!!!
this fucking tone is fucking unbelievable
apparently the preamp section from the savage is what the ENGL e530 preamp rack is.
I have one and it definitely sounds this tight
no wonder it reminds me of the e530. love this sound. lots of musical note fundamental & doesnt sounds fizzy
aahhh...i luv ur tone...
@Smit2k11 at last :) well the ltd 401 is a good guitar, it's not exactly the same anymore, they've changed a few things but it's still a great guitar. Very slick and smooth neck.
I unfavorited this and favorited it again just so it could be at the top of my list :D still my favorite tone of yours after over a year
@Kride Thanks, I think the contour was on. I'm never using the lead boost switch. Always off. Even at solos.
Glad you dig it bro! I'm uploading this song with another Engl amp today :)
Excellent music, excellent riffs!!!
@MrMetalmaggot There are two masters to switch between as well as a Extra Lead gain push button.
@keechada thanks dude, I'll post some more soon!
Epic riff and amazing sound !
@GrunesMannchen sold it shortly after... they had this clearance sale at ESP dealer in sweden so they were selling out guitars cheap!
@HardRockBobby yup
that last riff is insane well done bro !!!
that snare sound though lol...
hahaha I did'nt notice it till you mentioned it. Sounds like that St Anger snare lol
@TheMakShak13 probably Daddario XL 12-60
BRUTAL tone Bro!!!!
awesome song man, and awesome guitar, great brand
depends on what I prefer at the moment. Some days the rectifier just rules all and other days it doesn't
@Mikeymoomah well it's actually the bleed gallop but reversed. and slower :D
KILLER Tone Dude!!!!
Awesome riffs man and im lovin the tone!
Love these riffs man. Solo is melodic and smooth!
@jeserty6 thanks dude, this song is going to be on the upcoming feared cd.
Damn man, that was f****ing wonderful.
Love your tone! Your riffs are tasty as well. Keep it Metal!
really nice riffs
I saw this on the ENGL facebook page... figured that if these were just extra riffs you had kicking around, I had to check out Feared. Great stuff!!
@TheRocker117 cheers!
To be quite honest, this is one of my favorite songs that you've wrote.
@5amuu that's what you use a lowpass filter for... check my recording tutorial for more info.
@Nightwolf1987 Thanks!
@TheMakShak13 Logic 9. Using Superior 2.0 for sounds.
@Maometto1000 cool man, try post a clip when you've nailed it and post it as a video response. Cheers!
@boundinthe80s
I like it :)
No but it's an awesome allround guitar
I usually return and watch this video only to get inspired, hear those sick riffs makes me play with more desire, and make an effort to record in a better quality.
@Barto1361 Midi!
@kirkhammett1993 that was just something I did in Logic 9.
Killer riffs bro!!!
@Krakthor GREAT preamp for the money. I used to own one! Then I got a Triaxis. :D
@ZindriKillem666 Metal foundry! thanks...
Most Brutal Amp ever...love my Savage. Does anything even come close?
@jungleecho haha that is a strange comment... don't bash the americans, practically all my favourite bands are from there.
Dialing in those drums must take for ever.
@Sketch95 depends what part of the world your in but how about a EVH5150?
@young0wylde0child No, the rhythms in this video are passive pickups.
@MrMetalmaggot No standard tuning is E.
@Nightwolf1987
Toontrack metal foundry!
@OuterHavenSS I love the savasge, I recommend it. Ola here is the one who convinced me through his stuff to get one and is the best one of my 3 amps
FANTASTIC!!!!
i usually check these types of vids to hear the tone only, but DUDE, ur music blew my mind & so is ur vid editing
def. subscribed
