Some glorious footage there ! I used to love places like Tinsley. As a southern spotter, these places were amazing to visit. Even at 1987, it's surprising how much trackwork had already been lifted. Death and decline of the railways leading the death and decline of the country. The last 40 years has seen our country go backwards, almost over the edge, into the abyss.
Fascinating stuff, had the Class 13s been finished by then? Always liked the Class 20 as it reminds me of the big Amtrak locos (always seems a shame to run them face first rather than nose first but what do I know eh?). Still frightening in a way to see Tinsley though thinking back to Threads and where the first bomb went off over Sheffield.
was too late for them, they gad gone. there was no yard for them to shunt was there lol i went in the early 80s and saw them all but then it was 10 lines across where you see the 56 and not just the one as it is here
