- Meet Forest my new Blazer. He's got 242k+ miles and still runs well. There are a few quirks that give him some character but looking to fix a few simple problems. The first and foremost is the back glass won't open and renders the tailgate useless.
Stay tuned for a how to video on opening the rear glass from inside.
That shaking idle is normal for the 4.3 and with that many miles it is prolly getting tired but sounds great. Wouldn't worry about it if I was you. As long as the transmission is good it's gonna run forever.
i have a 95 chevy blazer that has that same idling problem. it seems to do it more when it is cold outside. i wouldn't worry about it too much. as long as it starts ok and you have good acceleration without hesitation or it gets really slugish.
the third pocket in the top center console is for cds
Thats what its for i put in the center console
Put your foot on the brake before starting it - then the key will work first time!!!!!!!!! Keeps you from starting off and "lerching" forward!!!!!!! Remember there was a ton of problems with cars lerching forward and even taking off - when starting - so GM's fix was ALL CARS had to have the brake pressed when starting!!!!!!!!!!!
@1993MrRebblerF150 you're right. I'm a very spontaneous/impulse buyer. I cleaned it up an it's actually rather nice but I didn't realize what I was getting myself into. Now I am trying to sell it and get it off my hands. The oil cooling lines that run into the radiator have failed and leaking terribly....... Interested? :)
No, I sold it last year. The torque converter was going bad and the oil cooling lines were leaking. I sold it and bought a 4 door pick-up truck. Kind of miss it though.
Nice review👍
If your key does not turn like that it's because your steering wheel ka locked, you have to move the steering wheel and turn the key at the same time
@monsterfiend69 just got back from a 500 mile round trip down to Moab UT and had no problems. Fixed the rear glass and tailgate and love the functionality. Just got a Yakima Loadwarrior, two Thule Bigmouths and a Westin Grillguard for it. Keep checking back for more details/videos
2:40 the third compartment is made for holding a multiple cd case :D
Thank you for judging my character based on a simple typo.
I would guess a loose engine mount or uneven compression in the cylinders. also for the key, i would get a couple copies made, sometimes its as simple as it just needs a recut.
i had a 1991 gmc jimmy with all the same problems lol except the rear glass not openin, power locks, and the winshield washer fluid worked for the front but not the back. it had 223,000 when it shit the bed.. and the ignition on it was opposite it was so worn that i could pull out the key with the engine running haha... and DO NOT USE SEA FOAM on a high mileage vehice either cause it will completely ruin the engine! it ruined mine and its the same 4.3 v6. now im looking for a 98-2004 blazer
It might just be me but should sellers not clean the product before selling? Sand and dirt i get but bills? The least they could have dobe was leave some money in there for you :)
Replace cap and rotor for smooth idle.
it was a good car though till the bills started getting too high for what its worth. had to replace the head gasket- $1500 had a oil and transmission leak fix- $139. had to get the exhaust pipe fixed $215. a/c recharge and oil leak fixed again- $329. then it decided to have something go wrong with the computer that kept killing batteries so i brought it in and they said to get it fixed since the computer would need replacing and to redo the wiring harness it would be at least $800
so the shop said the fire department here in my town were looking to buy some no running cars to use to practice and teach the fire men how to use to jaws of life and how to get the passangers out of a wrecked car. so needless to say the jimmy was going to get the roof cut off and all the windows broken out. they offered me $500 so i took it cause the scrap yard was only going to give like 250. so its sad to see it go but every vehicles life has to come to and end one way or another :(
Gosh dang he revved that mfker lol
The CD stereo was an option, not standard. I have a 96 blazer and it has a tape deck.
Most ls were tape. Lt were mostly cd. I could be wrong.
I need to part this out for mine
The reason the tail gate will not open is a blown fuse!!!!!!!!! When you go to buy more fuses - buy several - this fuse is blown about once a month in my old blazer - for YEARS!!!!!! (I used to have this memorized - but I cannot remember exactly which fuse it was!!!!!!!!!!!) You know the previous owner was a real slob - when you open the door - shit starts falling out!!!!!!!!
Jeff Schwartz
Try pressing and pulling on the latch at the same time that works for mine
very good car ım buying 2015 april :)
@fatboik11 Oh, that makes total sense now......
There's a rear glass button in the cab, below the headlights.
This wouldn't work anyway because the lever arm is not aligned properly
wiggle the steering wheel and in will always start
so i said fuck it to the $800 cuz it isnt worth it and plus after i put the sea foam in it sounded like a rod knocking and got really high rpm's before it would shift so the shop said i would need a engine rebuild and i decided not to even though it was hard to let it go. it idled really rough too and plus the only window that would roll down fast was the driver window, the passanger window didnt even roll down and the back windows were very slow so they need a new window motor.
Has the dexcool coolant given you any issues?
I sold it years ago. I don't recall having any issues but I never did anything with adding or checking coolant.
oil pressure 😬
wanna sell it
0:01 is that a tampon???•_•
