I think the big reason is a lot of worlds are themed around chilling and hanging with friends, and a lot of people find bright lights to be glaring on headsets with Fresnel lenses (which most PCVR headsets had for a long time, and new ones without those are too expensive for most people to afford so Fresnel lenses are still common place) also the prevalence of dark theme enjoyers, its just common place/mostly used so that's what people tend to go with cos its what they're used to and don't want their eyes burned out by bright lights so close to their face lol that's the reasons I think dimly lit worlds are common place though, bright worlds hurt my eyes, and annoy the hecc out of me with my Fresnel lenses
@@20nik bright worlds can be fun, but I gotta adjust to the light a bit first, I suppose its just like in real life, stepping from a dim room out into the sun hahaha
Dim lights just feel more relaxing....i feel like I would be visually assaulted if I visited one of the worlds you showed as an example of good lighting lol
My friends are vampires. They play at night and hate brightness. Some of them fall sleep while playing. So they prefer dark worlds.

@@King_Ddraig yeah fair haha
its partly because lighting in unity without expensive addons is not good, but the examples yu showed seem to be an artistic choice
