I went to TravelTown as a kid. I'm glad it's still there and the train ride is still running. Trains are just cool and their history is important to keep alive. Thanks for taking us along.
I was just thinking of Travel Town the other day and wondering if it was still there. I used to have my birthday parties there in the 60's. So happy it still exists. Thank You for this video!
Brought back memories. My brother had a birthday party there around 1976, he would have been 8. I took my kids there in 2007, much has changed. I live in Riverside now and I realy should go visit. I love all your videos
One of the first places we went to discover after moving into Glendale in 1964. Countless bicycle rides with my brothers to TT as a kid. Live in Tennessee now and really appreciate the memories. God Bless You and your Family!
I went to this when I was in third grade as a field trip. Now, I pass by it everyday on my way home from work, & I always wondered if it was still open & available. Glad it is! Your channel is pretty gnarly, definitely gives ideas of where to visit that I, myself, never have been to, even though I've lived in So Cal off & on for many years. 😅 thanks!!!
I remember my Mom taking us kids to Griffith Park back in 1959 -1962 when we lived in Whittier. We also went swimming there in the big pool they had there. Knotts Berry Farm holds more fond memories as well. We went to Wallace Wiggins School. That was over 60 years ago, wow ... My Family moved to Imperial Valley In 1963. Thank you for posting ..
Your kids are growing so big!! I'm sure they loved the train ride! I was a travel town recently and rode the train - I had a blast!! It's definitely for kids, & kids-at-heart!! Good video!
Awesome video as usual-you set a high standard for everyone else! Can't wait to see more on Griffith Park, but would have liked to see the inside of the gift shop and maybe a shot of where to get more info on where to get more info on the trains before starting the tour.
Thanks for the feedback, noted! There is a link in the description for the trains if you want to see more about them. traveltown.org/historyandlearning/the-trains-at-travel-town/
I have watched a handful of these videos. He us an excellent speaker, relaxed and SO informative. Im sure i have not been to alot of the locations he narrates on he is so thorough that you almost dont have to.
They have a sleeper cabin car from the Union Pacific on display that I rode in when I was 2 years old in 1963. I remember the room we had and where it was in the car. It was pretty amazing to be back in a railroad car 52 years after I had ridden in it as a child. The docent even let me get up in the upper bunk that he folded down for us. It was unforgettable.
What a nice video and accompanying music. My husband and I went to Travel Town today. It did my heart good to see so many little ones excited about trains- a next generation of railfans! The weather was perfect and there were people everywhere: picnicking, riding the little train, and taking loads of pictures. I liked the setup with everything from picnic areas to quiet out-of-the-way benches and a gazebo, and the gift shop has a pretty nice selection and is reasonably priced. We live about 20 min away and we ought to visit the museum more often, as well as check out many other heritage projects in Southern California!
Oh man, this is Nostalgia in drug form right here. Many a school field trip there as a little kid , hit the trains first then the LA Zoo! Crazy how some things haven't changed over the decades.
I remember 6 years old came to travel town mini trains such a cool place to visit the old west trains where engineers were pullman porters and an old pony rides i was on one back in 1973
Josh you have a beautiful family. Thanks for taking us along. Oh. Bytheway. Get your runnin shoes ready cuz once those little ones learn to walk they will quickly learn to run !! Haha
One place on my list to visit when I move out to California. First heard of this place in an episode of chips and the bionic woman in 1977. Always wanted to go to this place, very cool and interesting.
Ooh this looks amazing for a train enthusiast like myself. That is all so cool and thanks for sharing with us this beautiful area of LA. Keep up the fantastic work as always. I love your videos.
Cool place..we have taken our just turned three year old grandson to the Tennessee Valley Railroad museum in Chattanooga to see the old trains, and ride the big old coal powered steam engine on the short six mile loop ride into town 2 -3 times over the last couple of years and he has been absolutely obsessed with trains ever since...lol.
Travel Town is a fantastic place to take young kids! One Sunday each month, they host a "Thomas Day", bringing tobne of track and Thomas the Tank Engine locs and cars, and can be played with by any child there. Also, for we ADULT train fans, there is an N-Scale club who have a layout inside the Exhibit Hall. Over all - the place is a blast to see. P.S. - I live only a couple of miles from Travel Town in Burbank, and with grandkids - I've been there LOTS....
That's where the movie The Jerk was filmed for the train conducting Navin R Johnson, it should have a miniature train for kids to ride. There are two miniature train rides in Michigan that i am aware of, the old train from the Traverse City Zoo was moved to the Buckley Steam Engine show , 3rd week of August every year. There is another one in Howard City, MI at Burley Park.
Once again Josh, great video and congratulations on your beautiful twins. I just got back from Alaska as I used your fairbanks and Anchorage recommendations and had a wonderful time. Your channel is my number 1 in my list as I always look forward to any new content you post on and it got my wondering 🤔, I feel like you been all over the United States 🇺🇲, how many states have you been to? Or which states are you missing?
Nice! Definitely want to check it out. Have you brought the kiddos to the Railway Museum out in Perris yet? Our girls really loved that one. They run a big train out of there that was super cool.
Excellent video, so hyped to be finally allowed back in to the USA from next week, flying straight into LA. Have you done a hike video to the Hollywood sign ?? its on my list to do, in case I can't come back again !!!
That is awesome! I hope you have a great trip! I do have a hollywood sign hike video ruclips.net/video/hQWcmV6fYKY/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/rGrREASrWTs/видео.html depending on what direction you go
Today I went there and the little train you rode in I did not see it there hopefully it's okay and I wish they just made the same trains but electric that would have been cool instead of the box looking ones we have today
I went to TravelTown as a kid. I'm glad it's still there and the train ride is still running. Trains are just cool and their history is important to keep alive. Thanks for taking us along.
So cool to hear you used to go there. I agree, trains are just cool!

That's awesome! Yea its a fun spot!

Wow, we would have never thought to go here....very cool!!! Thanks for such great ideas!
No problem, have fun if you go!
I used to ride my bike there and hang out with my friends, growing up in Burbank in the 70s
I drove by that place so many times. Wondered about it. Great video. Love seeing the family as well.
It is worth the stop for sure!
Might be volunteering there soon!!
Very cool! There is a Columbo movie (Identity crisis) that had a scene filmed there in 1974 or so. Saddly, some of the trains show wear of time.
That's awesome, I didn't know that!
The twins are sure growing fast. They are so cute.
Ooh this looks amazing for a train enthusiast like myself. That is all so cool and thanks for sharing with us this beautiful area of LA. Keep up the fantastic work as always. I love your videos.

If you liked Travel Town...
Go out to Perris, Ca. Go to the Southern California Railway Museum/
Orange Empire Railway Museum
How about a review of the best food trucks, street food, in California. This may be limited due to Covid
How about exploring Franklin Canyon Park.
Glad you liked it!
Joanie Bartels was there long ago
The twins have grown up 😊
They really have!
Hey man, nice videos, are you Armenian?
Your babies are too cute.
Thank you!
❤️
Yah, family field trip.

Is the train open daily?
