What made silent hill an awesome game for me was the fact that once you advance in the game at all, it just feels rewarding because of all the enemies and puzzles you have to face. I understand why they didn't stay %100 dedicated to the game, because no one wants to sit there and watch a half hour race to open a box that just contains ONE STRAND OF HAIR. Or maybe that's just me.
Funny thing is, out of all the movies to survive in, Sean Bean actually survived TWO Silent Hill movies! How the Hell does that happen? lol. That irony must be intentional.

@Foxy The Joker Fox Anyone is free to give their opinion and this movie is one of the worst video game adaptations. Silent Hill 3 (video game) is a masterpiece compared to this movie full of fanservise (U better suck my balls)
Michael Coates Yeah i know, the babadook is one of my favorite, and i liked how they didn't rely on cheap pop outs and loud noises It was pure Horror..
BHM Productions It disappointed me BECAUSE it wasn't as good as the first one. But Silent Hill always has the creepiest coolest monsters of the horror franchise.
Ive heard that rose and Sharon were trapped in alessas dimension so they are basically in a parallel world to the dad. alessa mixed the bad side of her with the good side (Sharon) and didn't want her to live in the same world where she was burned. but basically alessa wanted to protect the new version of her.
Persú's Animations basically the first one ended with Rose and Sharon leaving the town of Silent Hill, but they were still stuck in that dimension. The second movie explains that Rose found a way to leave, but one one of them could, so she sent Sharon
Silent Hill 3 is probably one of my favorite games ever and I was beyond excited for this film at the time. Looking back at this film. Can't believe I spent money on this. It's the only movie walked out on.
Red Pyramid is a full body costume that was blended at Roberto Campanella wrists, requiring only 25 minutes of preparation for each scene, as opposed to the three hours it took in the first film. Kit Harington admitted trying to play the Silent Hill games for research but quit because they were too scary for him. However, he also added that he didn't need to play the games, as his character bears very little relation to his game counterpart. For the scene of the goldfish "dying", the crew placed the fish in specially prepared water that would cause the animals to fall asleep, creating the appearance of a dying animal without actually causing them any harm. M.J. Bassett was dissatisfied with the final film. To appear blind as his character, Malcolm McDowell had to wear white contact lenses, something which later led to eye problems for the actor. Carrie-Anne Moss had to shave her eyebrows for the role of antagonist Claudia Wolf. According to the filmmakers, this was done so that her facial expressions would be more difficult to tell, just like her game counterpart. After the release of the film, Bassett apologized to any fans disappointed with the film on his blog and has remained uninvolved in the Silent Hill series since then. Film debut of Kit Harington, fashion model Heather Marks, and the theatrical film debut of Erin Pitt. M.J. Bassett was a fan of the Silent Hill video games prior to getting Director's chair for the film. She was also very open about her dissatisfaction with the original Silent Hill (2006) film. Dark Alessa, in her child form, has no lines of dialogue throughout the entire film. One of Sharon's fake names was Mary, likely an allusion to Mary Shepard-Sutherland, a character from Silent Hill 2. Coincidentally, Heather Marks (who plays Suki) shares a name with protagonist Heather Mason. Although being the same age as Heather / Sharon during the shooting of Silent Hill: Revelation, actress Jodelle Ferland, who portrayed Sharon, Alessa and Dark Alessa in Silent Hill (2006), was never contacted to reprise her role as Sharon, due to Bassett wanting the older version of Sharon to look more like her game counterpart, and less like the first film's version of her. Because of this, Sharon's teenage version bears very little facial resemblance to her child appearance. At Jack's Inn, there is a red high-heel shoe on the headboard. In the game, Silent Hill 3, Heather uses such an object to solve a puzzle in the amusement park. Jacky Lai and Rachel Sellan's debut. The scene near the climax of the film where Harry decides to remain in Silent Hill to look for Rose is an homage to Silent Hill 2 where James Sutherland heads to Silent Hill to search for his wife Mary Shepard-Sutherland.
These are just like the Resident Evil movies. Make a movie that basically has nothing to do with the games, have a couple characters out of the game, whack the games name on it. Call it a horse and start whipping. The Japanese are the masters of strange horror. These movies should have been done with more involvement from Konami.
mintie twinz "There actually"? Where actually? A fair point, however. Now i see how these movies are clearly superior, thanks to you growing up with the franchise.
They failed to capture Heather Mason’s three dimensional personality in the game and they never used any of the scary moments in the game such as the mirror scene, subway push or Stanley Coleman. They wasted the plot by not killing Harry Mason to motivate Heather to get revenge and abandoned the amazing moment where she vomits out God only for Claudia to ingest God.
I hope they make another good speech for Dark alessa, her speech from the first movie was TOTAL BADASS! And my favourite,is of course : "Now the dream of this life must end and so too must the dreamers within it. For over 30 years, they’ve lied to their own souls. For 30 years, they’ve denied their own fate. But now is the end of days, and I am the reaper" But for something more simple,I love her simply yet frightening words : "I have many names"
I am too! I have never heard of Pyramid Head until people started guessing who the killer was in DbD. After they released him, I searched A LOT into info about the games and movies to understand the chapter more. I am probably going to watch the movies this weekend.
@@xNanoya LOL. Never expected two completely random people talking to each other through a 7 year old video about their interest a game/movie franchise which they learned about through another game. But yeah, I am really curious about Silent Hill now too! With the age of the games, it'll be quite hard to play them, but watching a movie is satisfying enough me!
sooooo....Vincents mom is Claudia, who's sister is Dahlia, whose daughter is Alessa that split her "soul" in two, becoming "Heather" who falls in love with "Vincent"....Are you getting that?!?!?!?!?!?
LOL Confusing it sounds, but "sister" may not be used in the technical sense. Just like Christabella called Dahlia "sister" in the first movie. I think it's because they were all part of a church/cult, that within it they are family, and they use terms like "sister" and "brother" in a non-traditional but formal sense.
Seriously the whole thing I could think about the whole trailer was that the extras at 1:58 were literally probably told to "shake your hands in the air like you just don't care… Except make sure you still look crazy and demon-posessed or something".
I had this song DVD and I got the first one light on my phone and I think the best part of this movie is honestly the end credits that song is just hauntingly beautiful
AzazelZaphorOmega The actual story and plot of the second movie wasn't bad for a sequel, but it wasn't executed in the right way. Having said that, i gotta say i really liked the whole merry go round scene
what i dont get is in the first one her family actually helped that demon girl or whatever to get revenge on that woman who was the leader of there faith church or again whatever. so why would the darkness bring hell upon her life again and take her dad awhen in the first one they took there daughter(the one who is now grown up) when she clearly went through it when she was a little girl. i haven't seen all of the 2nd one so if anyone would like to clear things up for me that would be nice :)
They very loosely based the movie off of the original games. In the first movie, the man who loses his daughter ends up helping the original demonic version of his daughter, who at the end hands him a baby that is the reincarnation of his lost daughter. The third game in the movie (the second one isn't related to the first one's story) re-visits the story, which is set 17 years after the time of the first game, and the reincarnation is now 17 years old. Honestly, the movies were shit and did the game they were based off of no justice. They ended the first one with Rose helping Alessa, and that being that, but then tried to make a 2nd movie out of it thinking the fans of the game wouldn't notice.
Nono Sharon actually was the reborn Alessa at the end and the misty foggy world they're in is the Other World where Alessa (Sharon) is in control so she's staying in the Other World with Rose because Alessa just wants a loving mother to stay with her forever :P Google explinations of the ending of the first movie, it'll be more clear
Wow. It shouldn't take that just to understand a movie. Maybe it's 'cause I'm not as familiar with Japanese writing styles. ~*shrug*~ What I'm still wondering is how Sharon was created. I don't see how that could've happened "the old fashioned way". I mean, I don't see how she could have conceived a child before she was burned to death, since she WAS a child then, and how would it happen AFTER?? I mean...wait...Alessa WAS dead, right? Grrrr... ~*goes over to Google*~
+Alejandro Sanchez a bit incorrect. I dunno what any official web page says.. however, it IS implied that Alessa's mother had something going on with the school janitor (the future Pyramid Head). In Silent Hill 1, note that the name tag on the body that is in the toilet stall (that becomes Pyramid Head) is the same as the name tag on the janitor who was cleaning .. in the same bathroom when Alessa tells the tale of what happened. She was pregnant.. and was being "cleansed by fire" ( a religious tradition in some cults and this one too apparently) when the "accident" happened and one of the supports broke. She got burned badly. That's why they (the religious cult) accused her of being evil. She apparently had a child from possibly being raped or giving in to that janitor. Not sure if she had the child before or after the attempt to cleanse her by fire. The child was put at an orphanage and adopted by Radha Mitchell and Michael Bean's characters
I guess you are right Alenjandro.. I just remembered it differently. Thought the one in the stall turned into Pyramid head and caught up with them later in the room. reviewing it I see he wasn't Pyramid head.
they could make one with silent hill 2's story since Sean beans character decided to stay in silent hill. there's a lot of darkness to losing your wife to a haunted dimension.
Theres so many small plot holes and cliches that ruined this movie for me. I wasn't surprised by anything and the film didnt have that same sense of survival horrir that the first did. A lack of Dark Alessa was also a bad idea as she is the queen of Silent Hill. More pyramid head would have being nice too
I was gonna say the same thing-games then made into movies, not bad just need to play them and see whats missing to make it all the better than just seeing the movie.
Wasn't as good as the first one, had a few laughs with how bad the script was but hey I was here for the monsters, they did not dissapoint, but some of them made me laugh too. The result was kind of a serie b movie type but with good visual effects.
I was so disappointed with myself while I was watching this trash. The script was indeed poor, and the 'scary' scenes were not even scary. The poor visual effects might've had something to do with it also.. plus, I was so confused in the beginning.
First was one of the best horror movies Ive ever watched, and the second was one of the worst. And I’ve watched a LOT of horror movies. Seriously, revelations is massive trash garbage sewer juice.
I don't care what people thought of this movie, this was the third horror movie that I'd ever seen, I wasn't allowed to watch them as a kid, so I'd watch them secretly when my parents were away. It was a special thing for me because I got to experience a whole different type of movie genre unlike anything I'd ever seen, where the boundaries were pushed and the scares and thrills were heightened. Was this film great? Probably not by objective film standards. Is it forgettable? I was younger than 12 when I watched it, so I didn't catch all the important plots and I forget a lot of the scenes. But the ones that I remember are nostalgic for me because I remember the wonder and the thrill that I felt when I watched this movie, and I've always been a fan of Sean Bean from Lord of the Rings and National Treasure, so with his being in the movie, it made it that much better for me. Definitely not saying this necessarily from a technical point necessarily, but I think this movie is awesome for personal reasons.
the movie takes premise from the game Silent Hill 3. Just look at the star exactly like the girl in the game. Which does not actually ensure a fine movie.

Honestly, the movies were shit and did the game they were based off of no justice. They ended the first one with Rose helping Alessa, and that being that, but then tried to make a 2nd movie out of it thinking the fans of the game wouldn't notice.
It's because Revelation and shit and contradicts the first movie in several things
Sehr gut gemachter Horror Streifen mit dem gewissen etwas. Kann man sich öfter als einmal ansehen. Allerdings braucht man starke Nerven.
Wait...Sharon and her mother both died in the first one. WTF?!
Kind of.
They didn't last more than 30 seconds without using Promise Reprise
they could make one with silent hill 2's story since Sean beans character decided to stay in silent hill. there's a lot of darkness to losing your wife to a haunted dimension.
The third Silent Hill movie DEFINITELY would have a spin on Silent Hill 2 Restless Dreams. A husband going into Silent Hill looking for his wife.
I love how at the end they have the scene from Downpour and the main character from Origins!
Just watched this movie and it was absolutely horrible.
Theres so many small plot holes and cliches that ruined this movie for me. I wasn't surprised by anything and the film didnt have that same sense of survival horrir that the first did.
A lack of Dark Alessa was also a bad idea as she is the queen of Silent Hill. More pyramid head would have being nice too
Movies to look forward to:
7500
Iron Man 3
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
Warm Bodies
Some others
I am writing here 10 years after the release of this video, but now I want to see this movie .. 😶😶
This is why I hate watching Horror movies in 3D!!
I watch this trailer over and over again and every time I'm thinking how cool this movie will be !!!
How was it? 😁
Posts that didn't age well
NED AND JON FINALLY BOND PROPERLY
¿Como hizo Rachel para salir de Silent Hill?
I'm still scared of this only having watched it once like 6 years ago XD
This movie is like the evil version of Alice in Wonderland :p
you nou nothing, Jon Snow..
Not to mention actors who are good acting bad. wow.
That was a great and intense movie ! It kept me on my toes during the midnight premiere !!!!
First was one of the best horror movies Ive ever watched, and the second was one of the worst. And I’ve watched a LOT of horror movies. Seriously, revelations is massive trash garbage sewer juice.
This movie is on TV tonight. I'm watching it, I want to see this trailer before I do.
Your english sucks lol. Your sentence was so hard to read lmao
"3D". This juvenile marketing ploy in a title gurantees a sucky film.
the movie takes premise from the game Silent Hill 3. Just look at the star exactly like the girl in the game. Which does not actually ensure a fine movie.
are the new 3d glasses anygood though?!
I watch this 24\7
"Next time we meet we talk about your mother"
Guess we already know who's dying.
Havent seen this one, does this movie catch the same vibe as the game and the first movie?
You know nothing Jon Snow
Looool
When you want to get some extra money...

Looks like the worst movie ever.
Labyrinthine it is omfg
Labyrinthine the first one is better
Is this a continuation from the first movie?
This movie is a piece of shit.
this movie is actual shit lol
+
Is this the continuum of the first movie? I'm kind of sad that Jodell Ferland didn't play Heather...
Same. She did an amazing job in the first movie.
Not exactly.
Everybody's gangsta till the sirens go off
"Thanks for walking me back"
"Yeah"
😶 Awesome dialogues in this film
Didn't live up to expectation of the original silent hill movie, both in quality of visuals and story.
Honestly, I think even when they do build suspense people still complain. In my opinion there's a limit on building on that suspense.
so does this have to do anything with the first movie? I dont see the connection
im here from silent hill downpour one of my scary games ever on PS3 only i seen this movie 6 years old and i got nightmares from it
