I just bought this guitar (powder blue finish) and love it. I play it through a 1966 Fender Bandmaster and it sounds fabulous. It is extremely comfortable to play, perfectly balanced and the fit and finish are top-notch. @@WednesdayWorship Thanks. It looks amazing, but I am a single cut kinda dude, so I'll probably stick to the Starla. Perhaps my mind could change if I try both and like the latter a bit more. Cheers.
The day before yesterday I have purchased a brand new Starla. 2 pickup positions sound very similar to my ears both in humbucker and splitted into single coils mode: When I put the switch in neck pickup position and then in middle position (both pickups), the sound is very similar. Although I have checked the DC resistance in both positions with a multimeter, the DC resistance definitely varies in both positions. Does the sound in these positions really doesn't differ that much? Otherwise the guitar came with a proper setup, a good finish and a nice sound.
The S2 just never spoke to me. I didn't find them to be more that a bit better than the Indo SEs for nearly double the price. If I were to jump above SE, then I'm going for CE. It's a very nice guitar, although the neck on the redesign is disappointing. The 2 I've owned from the 90's both had outstanding quartersawn maple necks worthy of Fender Custom Shop. The grain was so straight it looked like pinstripes. Also, the older ones had half inch tops vs the quarter inch on the new ones. Those old things can be had used for $1000 in great shape. Maybe the best value in guitars I've seen.

But the 2 things that make this guitar amazing are the 85/15 pickups that split beautifully, and the wide thin neck profile, which is a little thinner than the core wide thin. Same but width though. I really dig the wide thin SE necks. And an SE Mira is $699,same as Starla
@@WednesdayWorship Thanks. It looks amazing, but I am a single cut kinda dude, so I'll probably stick to the Starla. Perhaps my mind could change if I try both and like the latter a bit more. Cheers.
When the semihollow 😅😁
@PRS Guitars which amplifier was used for this video? was the same for the rest of the 2020 se lineup? thanx.
This guitar is crazy lightweight so weird how mahogany varies in weight
The day before yesterday I have purchased a brand new Starla. 2 pickup positions sound very similar to my ears both in humbucker and splitted into single coils mode: When I put the switch in neck pickup position and then in middle position (both pickups), the sound is very similar. Although I have checked the DC resistance in both positions with a multimeter, the DC resistance definitely varies in both positions. Does the sound in these positions really doesn't differ that much? Otherwise the guitar came with a proper setup, a good finish and a nice sound.
... are you sure that's a bound neck?
Sounds great. I wonder how it would sound as a 12 string model? Are you listening Paul?
Get a load of the fingers on this cat.
What amp are you playing through?
Bryan's playing through a Sonzera 20 Combo.
Honestly, you might as well retire the S2's, these are fantastic
@@theonlyrobot the neck, which is the most important part is treated the american way, except for the joint.
The se guitats are 3 piece necks
I rather this over a Epiphone les paul or a gibson.
agreed!!!!
