Picked up a PRS CE 24 Semi-Hollow last year and it plays like butter. Never realized how much my other guitars were making me work. Those searching for a guitar, check out PRS because the neck and action on them are excellent. Very easy to play
Playability is largely dependent on the quality of the fretwork and setup, and PRS is the only major, non-boutique company that takes the time to ensure consistency in that area. Most guitars I’ve bought for my personal use have gone straight to my guy for that work, whether I bought them new or used, but PRS has always been the exception. He never sees them. That says a lot. Thanks for watching.
Both sound great, for blues and jazz. Wood quality is often down to what they’ve agreed to source in bulk, many high priced instruments carry the same wood as their less finished mid-priced middle of the range counterparts. So I‘d still purchase the Starla for blues and jazz, because I like the darkness of its tone.
I bought my frost green metalic Starla during lockdown in 2020 because I loved the look of it and it had some great reviews. It was the first electric guitar I bought and I don't think I will ever sell it. It is so comfortable to play and it sounds great, as your video clearly demonstrates. I can't recommend this guitar enough - great value for money. Now if only my playing could do it justice 🙂
They are nice. I took this one to a show, planning to play it for a song or two just to see how it performs in a live setting. It played well and sounded good and I ended up using it half the night. Thanks for watching.
I prefer the feel and tone of the S2 line but the SEs are rock solid. That SE Starla has the DS-02 humbuckers which are a bit hotter than the older S2 Starlas. They put those older, slightly lower output DS-01s in the S2 Vela which I absolutely love. Great vids you have, subscribed.
I loved how the Starla sounded, it reminds me to the late 60's SGs both in tone and looks, also it reminded me to Guild guitars and the mix with the Deluxe Reverb, sounded reminiscent of 60's sanfranciscan acid rock bands like Quicksilver Messenger Service, Grateful Dead, It's a Beautiful Day, Country Joe & The Fish, Farm, Jefferson Airplane, and so on.
Great demo, excellent string-slinging. I like them both. I think they both sound great, but I would probably change the pickups on the Starla SE to a something more like what's in the S2 or to a Duncan Saturday Night Special alnico 4 set, maybe a Pearly Gates alnico 2 set.
Very nice looking and sounding PRS! Both guitars sound Great!! So just buy 2, and still have a little left over for a sweet pedal?! Great playing as usual!
For now. I may or may not have to sell it but I need to be prepared. Unfortunately, my channel is still fairly young and small, as a result I don’t earn much more than coffee money yet and sadly, can’t keep everything I like.

That was, remarkably, one of the better playing SEs I’ve demoed. Nice sound as well.
Thanks so much for watching.

As always...great review brother.
Thank you my friend. Glad you enjoyed it.
I had a Starla Se short time and I miss it. Sounds great and played easy.
As you saw, I was quite pleased with it.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks so much. My S2 is a great guitar but I was almost shocked how close the SE Starla is in build quality and the all important fretwork.
I plan to get hold of a Vela but haven’t as yet. Stay tuned.
Without a doubt I like the tone on the S2 over the SE. My first requirement when I buy is tone, tone, tone; then, neck feel (radius). Good review.
Thank you, and thanks for watching.

It is a very enjoyable guitar. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Great review Leonard. Have you played the Mira ?
Not yet, but I’ll probably get to it. Thanks.

Great channel.
Thank you so much. Appreciated.
How compare to Les Paul?
Pretty different animals. A Les Paul, with its much thicker body, has a very different voice.
did you put the original pickups back into your s2?

@@leonardgriffieblues5845 it is a nice guitar. dont see many of them with birds out there. i have the s2 standard satin.
@@1997Ghost Yes, I searched awhile for the model with the birds, which I believe they only made for two years. They are great guitars, enjoy yours.
