@@SLSMe It's interesting what direction his ego took him. For most people ego makes them want to submit people as fast as possible. For Gordon it means smothering his opponents, until they want to quit.
I think it’s because he’s trying to sell instructionals, and tapping him in 20 seconds to a leg lock isn’t anything new, and something everybody is already fully aware that Gordon could do at will. Jimenez’ weakness is legs, so tapping him with it wouldn’t be that impressive.
@@arhael3594 Seems like he likes to break people. Which to a certain extent, it makes sense. He’s trained so hard for so long that he actually wants to enjoy his matches and toy with people. 😂
@@arhael3594 everyone threw shade that he was just a leglocker and he couldnt do anything else, the past few years he wanted to show he can beat anyone with passing sweeps and back takes.
That is a lot of confidence, it looked like he gave up on the foot lock at the beginning just because he didn't want to win THAT fast, then when his opponent escaped the first arm bar because he was trying to be nice and allow some time to tap then instead of taking the next submission opportunity that came he purposely fought his way back to the same armbar position and made sure to not let him escape that time
A date of the event would be nice, but I suppose Flo doesn't read these comments because people have been commenting the same thing to each recent video...

This is one of the better matches of Ryan I've seen, because his opponent defended really well and went for his own attacks. Most don't even get the latter opportunity.

@@mikegillivee3623 It’s a great move because the arm is in position for the gift wrap back take that him and Craig Jones love to do. So angling to avoid being smashed ends up killing you. Turning towards the gift wrap side is what I have to remember.
I recognised how good it is before seeing Gordon because people were doing it to me. Now I avoid doing it to my training partners (unless they are significantly larger than me so have a strong advantage in getting me off of themselves) because it just makes for a miserable time for them.
He'll tap the next time I'd imagine.

Trap and roll gives up the underhook which Ryan was hunting for the entire time.
Some fighters can just defend themselves others defend and attack too

The difference in strength and size are the difference and make the match boring. There are a reason for different weight classes.
@@fredrikhedlund I wouldn't say that Gordon is just better in skills. Remember smaller guys beat bigger sometimes Marcello. Size is a factor but not the sole reason he won.

not really. I think the kade match showed some realy techincal deficiencies Jimenez has beyond physicality, and gord's 99kg+ bracket runs shows how he's still dominant versus a heavier opponent. Sure, if it went down to "talent" jimenez might win this with his athleticism, but that's not fair. If we went by "hard work and current skillset", gord wins this easy. Let's not forget that jimenez is vulnerable to leglocks and the only reason this match went as long as it did was because Gord was selling DVDs for his upper body attack system at the time.

Im trying to like gordon ryan, just getting into bjj but.....he says steroids dont help in bjj but...theres a reason he says that....because they do....ive used steroids for years. They make you incredibly stronger, you get tired less, you have way more explosive strength. Hes number one yea but.....hes also juicing 😂 i mean.......come on guys😊
