      The UFC is into ENTERTAINMENT, first & last. The average audiences don't have the knowledge to understand, much less appreciate, this kind of extremely technical skill-based sporting event or even general MMA, where the permutation to get a win is much more showy, wild, and unruly. Anyway, whenever/wherever the dollar sign dictates, entertainment triumphs over actual skilled-based sports.
      INCIDENTALLY, that is why promotions like Khabib's "Eagle FC" didn't go anywhere: Khabib has ZERO understanding of, or tolerance for, entertainment. He wanted to do a pure skill-based fighting organization. Very little audience & money would flow into that!

    They need to make guard sitting illegal and the ref needs to do standups if the guys is just laying on the ground without an opponent on top. Guard pulling should only be legal as a takedown. This will only help grappling by making it more realistic and more exciting. It will force these grapplers to emphasize on stand up grappling, which is one of the most important aspects of fighting. But they insist on hanging on to BJJ culture rather than completing the transition to old style Submission Wrestling.

    • @kaicmma
      @kaicmma Год назад +4

      This is a fact. No one says anything, just abided. I left bjj for this reason, how are we going to ignore the other half of bjj which is standup. We also are neglecting importance and beauty of judo.

      @Ayyur 100mg of copium

    • @kaicmma
      @kaicmma Год назад +8

      @Ayyur you can know all the BJJ you like but it'll be useless in a self-defense scenario. Go pull guard or roll for an ankle in a street fight and get your face stomped in. The reason bjj doesn't stand anymore is because wrestlers dominate that domain. No one wants to learn wrestling and judo to become a better comprehensive BJJ student. I've been to many bjj dojos, schools of sitting and scooting. The best wrestler practices all styles of wrestling and judo. This is where BJJ has gone wrong. Before your time judo was half of BJJ but they've eradicated that. It was stand-up to a take-down to bottom game. It's so hilarious watching modern BJJ where both people play footsies on their buttcheeks. If you want respect and honor learn Japanese judo. Way more satisfying than knowing leg locks. For example, khabib is so skilled in wrestling alone that he destroys the best BJJ people in the world like charles oliveira. Fun fact I love Charles do Bronx, i trained under him and beside him with our coach Jorge Macaco Patino for years and the rest of Golds gym and Chute Boxe.
