Cory you should come to Scotland, the landscape is similar to Alaska but is defintly warmer! I could imagine you going through the highlands going Nessie hunting and haggis catching whilst wearing a kilt and Timberland boots.
*Your vlogs are the most beautiful, incredible, interesting, amazing, unbelievable things I've ever seen on RUclips !* Sincerely, you're taking "vlogs" to a whole new incredibly high level !!! It's like ... diamond vlogs ! I can't even explain it properly ! Just ... Wow !
SherrysVloggin Hi ! No, I'm just a simple viewer ;) ... I just wanted to express what I felt watching those unique vlogs from far far away, in France !
DudeLikeHELLA I was a puddle after the heat on Monday! I am in the city you mentioned where we got that massive crazy heat out of the blue! :) Most remote city on Earth - Perth. Luckily no crazy out of control bushfires burning towns to the ground like usual with such hot weather. :)
Exactly how I feel watching his videos. The vlogs are beautiful, and his cinematography is top notch. We live in Utah, which is very gorgeous state, and he makes me want to move to Alaska!
Cory, I totally understand the "heart smiling" emotion you felt. I have his church trip I go on to this state park, and it's just pure nature. We camp out there for a week, No cell service or anything, so we just hike, and swim in the river, and look at the beautiful birds and mountains and trees. the highest peak is called Inspiration Point, and the only way to get up there is to climb the tree roots that are sticking up out of the rocks. I seriously think of the place, and my heart just feels so happy because there's so many memories with these people I go with, and the beauty is beyond perfect. I love it there, and I can't wait to go back.
Cory, put together a small backpack with hand warmers, extra gloves, flashlight and emergency blankets oh yeah from my old basic training knowledge an extra pair of heavy socks. For tools, a small entrenching shovel, three ways of starting a fire, matches, a lighter and a knife with starter rod (remember 0ne is none and two is one when looking a fire starting stuff.) Next NEVER go alone like that again, always the two man rule. Oh yeah buy a cheap pair of Radio Shack two way radios always good when the cell phone dies on you. Lastly a good .38 or .357 handgun / revolvers WILL NOT jam and always go boom when you need them too. Have I scared you enough, Captain Mike over & out!
Thank you, Captain Mike, for saying this. Couldn't agree with you more (I made my own statement above but since you've got the training behind you it's better).
Hey Captain Mike! You sound freakin awesome! After reading that i want to head out on a expadition or something with you :D. Sign me up if you decide to make your own youtube channel :)
Just watching this gave me a tiny part of that wonderful, overwhelming feeling of happiness you described. I usually get it when I go hiking while I'm at a good place in life. There's something about the outdoors that magnifies it. Thank you! It warms my heart when I am buried in school work with no opportunity to go outside and hike for myself. :)
What you said in the cave "I'm not crazy, I'm living"... I think that's something everyone should really think about. I truly love that simple quote you made Cory :)
Seriously. This was your best vlog ever. What you where talking about, about how you can't describe in words how you feel. I get it. I felt it. Through imagery, look on your face, the tremble in your voice and yes, the music helped. Just fantastic.
Whoa DudeLikeHELLA you caught a cold weather mirage during the sunset, they are super rare what you are seeing is the sun being mirrored from over the horizon beyond the visual curvature of the earth which you wouldn't be able to see normally. It only happens when the weather is really cold and really still! Incredible.
Beautiful is right ! Gods land for sure up there. lol when you said "Silent Hill",,, it did look just like it,,,, I loved those games,,, still have them with my Playstaion 2 ,,, YOU better be careful out there exploring alone ! I can't say much I was all up in Minnesota near Canada on Lake Superior alone walking in the forest, looking in caves etc., but it is soooo fun exploring !! not fun if you run into a bear or something , but think positive when your out there.Your feeling so good because you are at peace when your in nature. TY for sharing those views,,, this earth is amazing, and a lot of it is free to enjoy. Well so far here in CT. we only have had 2 days of little snow, just passing through,,,, but tomorrow and next day going to get to 10 below and 20 below 2 mornings this week,,, brrrrrr for here in New England. Very mild so far, but getting chilly for sure.
I was scared for you in that cave, but it was worth it. I just wish you wouldn't go alone to these places. At least your phone has GPS so Kristin would find you and upload your footage if something happened to you...
DudeLikeHELLA yeah i always have the same worry when i watch your videos so i'm glad to know you're doing all this exploration safely. :) glad to know you're at least "sending pins" while you're out in the wilderness lol.
three sixes First off i want to start with i don't mean to offend you or anyone in any way. Have you lived in the cold (places were it snows at least 4 or 5 months a year? If so you probably no that after about 20 (f) you face always, in less you're wearing a Ski Mask, gets a kinda frozen cold feel, its not bad or hyothermic at all. At 5(f) you can get hypothermia by wearing a T-Shirt but Ive found its been fine for up to 10 min its kinda a slight chill that arouds over you.
"I'm not crazy. I'm living." Oh, I FELT that! I get it. That place is so incredibly beautiful and inspiring. It's no wonder that you're happy .... all these amazing experiences MUST give you all those feel-good pheromones that make you bouncy-joyful!
Cory, you might be experiencing what the art world calls an 'aesthetic experience', a philosophy that defines the spiritual and emotional feeling of overwhelming admiration, appreciation, and love for the beauty around you, which can happen when you look at an amazing piece of art, or in your case, the beautiful scenery of Alaska. :)
BEAUTIFUL VLOG!!! I know what you mean Corey just looking at the scenery, nature, sounds you hear and noticing the little things just makes you appreciate life more!
OH MY GOD I was setting my alarm (iPhone smart alarm that goes with sleep cycles) and the music at 1:19 is literally my wake up music that felt so weird! On another topic, I just wanted to let you know that my current girlfriend and I have been planning to travel across the country in our Land Rover Discovery 2001 with only a mattress, a camera and two pitbulls as soon as we get into college and have been looking into staying in Alaska for some time after I told her about you. I mentioned you when explaining how amazing of a relationship you have, which made me realize how I've felt many beautiful things that you felt recently that I originally took no thought in. Anyway I'm going off on a tangent here-- Have a good life Corey you are a huge inspiration and role model and I can't wait to explore the world like you have!
That feeling you were trying to describe, that's why I like to hike and backpack. To me it feels like I'm reminding myself that I'm part of this world. When I'm in the city, I'm disconnected from it. But in the wild, you're there. It's there. It just feels natural.
And this vlog is a prime example of why I want to visit Alaska! Thanks for sharing just a small glimpse of what your beautiful state has to offer, it put a ridiculous smile on the face the whole time I was watching!
Cory, what you're experiencing isn't happiness. That internal, can't really explain it, warm, good, happy, positive feeling is actually JOY. And in this day and age, it's hard to attain. Happiness is just an emotion, JOY is a state of being. I'm so glad that you can look at your life and be joyful about it, and that we ad the viewers can experience your joy along with you! This is a great vlog, very beautiful. Thanks! :)
That feeling you felt, Cory....people should search to find that within themselves where ever they are. So many people can't just up and leave where they are, for whatever reasons. So...it's good to search diligently, to find that place within themselves where their "heart can smile". THEN...they can be happy no matter where they are. And if they are fortunate enough to visit The Great Land...then their heart will smile MORE! I have a feeling you and Kristen are the kinds of people who can be happy no matter where you are...you're just happy-ER in Alaska. Loves to you both! And everyone else who watches! :-D
I don't know if you are looking for suggestions or anything but it could be really awesome if you got one of those drone copter thingys some other youtubers have been using to get some really awesome shots from the sky! It could look really amazing where you are at! :D
When you started vlogging, it was like a documentary. Low quality video, but it felt like genuine content. Then you moved up in camera quality, and it felt very high quality, high production value, but almost like you were trying too hard to be an entertainer or a TV show host. Now with the suped up 1080p60fps videos, it almost feels like they're not even videos anymore, it's like we're right there with you. The clarity is amazing. My stomach clenched just a little bit when you (we) went into that cave and for a brief moment I felt like even I was in some danger. This really is the pinnacle of vlogging Cory.
DudeLikeHELLA This seriously needs to be on some sort of tourist promotional video or something!!!!! THIS VIDEO IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!! I loved everything in it. Great work man!
Cory, I die with envy with every one of your videos. This was spectacular and one of my all-time favorites. You seriously have no idea how much I want to return to Alaska. I suppose watching your amazing footage will keep it in my head that I need to return. I am so happy for you.
The only way I could think of a way to explain your inner smile is, that you feel truly happy seeing something that is soooo BEAUTIFUL. I also had that same feeling just watching, wish I could be their to see it myself.
There is something about being outside in the cold in Alaska...you're right, it's hard to describe or explain. The sound of the icy river, the snow crunch, the quiet all around you. I went on many walks by myself near an icy Kenai river and it was just so peaceful. You are actually making me miss Alaska in the winter. Whoa.
That was amazing! Thank you so much for adding the beautiful music to those moments. You can tell that is what the music was made for. I was thinking at first that you were dumb for going in the cave but after you went in and showed us the details, I thought that is not a bad way to go sitting in such beautiful solitude. I love so much that you can go hiking around there and be completely alone. I live in San Diego and everything is crowds and noise. I can't go anywhere without traffic, lines, and crowds. Even if I go hiking it is crowded and I have to worry about my car getting broken into. Nothing here is sacred and non-tainted. As you can tell, I am ready to get out. I'll make my way to Alaska somehow.
Alaska should be paying you for every video you post. your enthusiasm and the beautiful scenery are the best advert they could hope for. It makes me want to visit, and I never want to go anywhere. Are you wearing boots with built in microphones? ;)
This was 100% epic, cannot wait to see # 101 You have my heart and soul smiling tonight as well, Cory....A "BEAUTIFUL" vlog and love the background music to....Perfect!!!! Alaska is the bomb!!!!!!!!!!!
A friend introduced me to your channel and this is the first video I have watched. I'm hooked! The way you see and appreciate the beauty all around you is exactly how I am. Especially the part where you say "i may or may not have just been stating at that rock for 20 minutes" lol that is me!! I love nature and am constantly in awe over its beauty. Thank you for sharing your life and adventures!
Glad you're enjoying all that amazing beauty. By the way, we showed your video for the "most amazing sound ever" to my step-daughter a few weeks ago, and today she told my husband she has watched all 100 of your videos since moving to Alaska. We're spreading the love, and increasing your followers. :)
I watched this 6 years ago and I’m so happy I found this video again. If you’re reading this, this helped me today. My depression has been hard but this video gives me hope to keep going and experience more adventures ❤️
Cory, that feeling where your heart is smiling? That's joy. :) Especially if it spills over and comes out as tears. Treasure it, for it is a wonderful thing!
Cory, the other day i read a comment by a native Alaskan, which I think is really important for you to remember. He said, "Any time you're out alone in nature in Alaska, if you're ever lost or hurt, it will most likely turn into an emergency (life/death) situation." Please be careful with your solo adventures! Amazing video, though! ;) And btw, what you described at the end...about that spiritual feeling you get from nature in Alaska...that's exactly how I feel when I go up to the mountains. It really is hard to describe, but it's an unbelievable feeling.
My first time watching & so impressed with your ease in front of the camera. Now I have 99 other shows to go watch before I continue on (I actually sneaked a peak at 101 so congrats on landing your job :)
I know you were experiencing nature and really just LIVING, but please please PLEASE be more careful in the future! The snow could have collapsed and pinned you to the floor, or even suffocated you. Never let danger stop you from living, but take precautions so you can keep living. :)
I tweeted this to you, but I thought I'd put it here too. This reminded me of one of my favorite John Muir quotes: “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity” Not sayin' you're over-civilized or anything ;) I've felt this way a lot, though and this quote really resonates with me. My heart smiles just like yours when I'm out and away from civilization.
That feeling is what I call my inner peace, I get it walking along the beach. And anyone playing the beautiful/awesome shot game have just entered a coma haha. Great video again.
This episode was your best to date. I am an old Navy photographer, I have been studying the art since I was 13 I am 64 and feel that I should remark that you improved in leaps and bounds over th e average photog your composition and editing was professionally done. Excellent keep it up make an old man proud. Evil Al
I know exactly what you're talking about when you say your heart is smiling. Both my fiancé and my grandma make my heart smile and everything feels perfect.
I feel crazy happy and 'heart-smiley' from just watching your videos! I live in Australia so ice and snow and mountains are completely unfamiliar to me. The scenaries that you show just...they're so mesmerising. Brb booking a flight to Alaska
ABSOLUTELY loving the scenery in this vlog! One day I will see mountains for myself. And that piano piece is one of my favorites (Gymnopedie No. 1 by Eric Satie if anyone's wondering)
I know the feeling you describe. Since I am a religious person I call it "being touched by god's love" but essentially it is also a realisation of how blessed we are to live in a world this beautiful and special, wheter you believe in a creator or not. One day I will visit Alaska, and I'll bring my daughter with me to show her the magnificent beauty of that part of our planet. Thank you, Cory for providing me with amazing footage until then (I hope).
I've got to say, this is my absolute favorite video you have ever made. This shows what's so amazing about our world we take advantage of. You make me want to move there and I HATE the cold!! I shared the video!! Best regards to you my friend!
Thanks for thinking of us here in Australia, 2 of our states are experiencing severe bush fires and yes the temp is high. I will know reprimand you the way I would our children, don't ever go in a gave on your own, you had me worried. I must admit it was beautiful. Take care.
Thank you Corey, Thank you for being you! Also thank you for the shout out to Australia. :D Again... Thank you for being my portal to the winter I love winter and enjoy seeing your videos and Thank You Kristen for being there for Corey :) you guys are amazing!
LOVE going to Byron Glacier! One of the most amazing things about living here in Alaska is how many adventures exist right out your back door. Glad you are getting to enjoy it.
Cory everything you showed today was just BEAUTIFUL! How many hours of daylight are you experiencing right now? Thanks for the experiences that you are giving to us on a daily basis of Alaska.
Aww, your comments on how Alaska makes you feel us exactly how I feel after moving to the Black Hills in South Dakota. So beautiful. It's no wonder the Native people considered where I live the center of creation.
Cory, I grew up there, and spent a lot of time doing what you just did. I try to explain to others about the feeling you get. Now I just say Alaska is like a 'Reset button for the soul'. I am sure you understand. - Kevin
DudeLikeHELLA I think this has been the BEST vlog to date! Its so beautiful, THANK YOU for sharing this incredible journey called life with us!!!!!!!!!!
One of the most beautiful videos of yours ever. You were trying to describe how Alaska makes you feel and I understand as i am sure most people do. I've had it happen to me, I fall in love with a place. The thought of it makes my heart race, brings shivers down my spine. It is me falling in love with destinations. It makes me see beauty in everything. and because of that I live a happy care free life. It's really great to see you like that Cory.
This vlog was freakin' beautiful! Everything's perfect! From 1 to 100, how much you consider yourself fortunate to have moved to Alaska? Man, I'd love all that nature and majesty.
Cory want to tell you heartiest Thank You for vlogging. All your videos are loaded with beautiful spirit, you inspire hearts of so many people! P.S. that icy rock in a creek got face! :-)
I live in the mountains with a river behind my house, some times its easy to take that kind of thing for granted. I snap out of it when we have friends over, and they remind us of how amazing it is.
Cory, if you read this PLEASE let me know! when you were mentioning how much you were enjoying the nature, and "the frost on the tree branches", and how you were confused as to why you were feeling the way you did, i just want to say that....God is living in you and wants you to live the most in your life, and you are! trust me!........ i don't know if you DO believe in God or not, and i respect you either way! but to answer your confusion, God is reaching to you even without you truly knowing why, showing you his beautiful creation and HIS beauty all in itself! i have faith that you can make the right decision and have God in your heart for the rest of your life, so you will live an eternal life with HIM and everyone who loves God with all their hearts. God Bless, -Elizabeth Lehman
Be careful being out and about alone like that! More than what these guys are worried about! That running car reminded me of the crazy amount of people that are abducted or "disappear" in Alaska every year. Scary stuff Cory.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was my favorite vlog ever. Thanks for showing us such amazing places that we would probably never visit on our own.
8:58 I did ask to visit Alaska. I wanna live there but at least visit since I'm to young to obviously live in my own right now and take care of myself. But wow, this Is why I wanna go. I love nature and its beauty and would love to go there. I love Alaska!! And a thanks to you, you inspired me to live life. You only live once, so enjoy it. Thank you for giving me this inspiration. I watched this on Jan 6 as well so while watching this I thought, "He is out doing all this awesome stuff and there I was sitting in a freezing classroom all day."
I've been watching your vlog for a while now, and even though I enjoy them all, this one is by far a favorite for me. The ice cave was absolutely amazing. Admittedly, I would have been as creeped but like you gotten over it then enjoyed it. The sunset amazed me completely. Being someone who is constantly taking pictures of a sunset from the east coast to the mid west that was by far one to be jealous of missing in my opinion. It looked completely frame worthy! Thank you so much for sharing these adventures with us & your life. ✌️
Even if its not what you planned for the 100th vlog, this is still beautiful. I love it so much. Im definitely going to plan to go to Alaska (i was anways) but just, wow. This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
Great video. I'm finishing up my last year of college and it makes me want to visit right after! I found your video from the one that went viral and have been showing your blog to my friends ever since!
"I'm not crazy, I'm living." Best thing ive heard in a long time.
That saying should be the caption on a tee shirt with his picture on it!
In fact, that sums him up very concisely!
Must be fun to live in Skyrim. Just be careful to not meet a cave bear in that cave.
So i was not the only one thinking that Cory is the new DovaVlogger :D
Indeed Skyrim = Alaska. Fitting. It is, well....beautiful. Also, DovaVlogger, total win. the piano music in this is awesome.
I used to play Skyrim then I took an arrow to the knee.
***** I was waiting for this comment lol
*****
Skyrim probably draws inspiration from Alaska
Cory you should come to Scotland, the landscape is similar to Alaska but is defintly warmer! I could imagine you going through the highlands going Nessie hunting and haggis catching whilst wearing a kilt and Timberland boots.
Ditto to that. I live on Skye and it's yes I say it lots too......Beautiful! Don't see many haggis though, think they're super rare here.
How exactly does one catch haggis?
Ugh..I'm from N.Ireland. .had Haggis once on a dare... worst taste ever..horrific!
DifficultNameMusic hope this helps www.kebriggs.com/haggis/hunts.html
Another fellow Scot here :). If you ever do come to Scotland bring your metal detector :), Theres loads of really old things here for finding.

Sincerely, you're taking "vlogs" to a whole new incredibly high level !!! It's like ... diamond vlogs ! I can't even explain it properly ! Just ... Wow !
Thank you! That really means a lot.
DudeLikeHELLA did you just blow that guy a kiss after your reply?? lol
Or was it Kristen pranking you? :p

"My heart is smiling" that explains it perfectly omg I've been trying to describe the butterflies-ready-to-burst-out feeling for ages!

There is such an under appreciated quote in this video by Cory "I'm not crazy,I'm living" a good quote to go by
A friend introduced me to your channel and this is the first video I have watched.
Your usage of Gymnopedie 1 was the best thing ever. It's one of my favorite piano pieces!
Cory, that feeling where your heart is smiling? That's joy. :) Especially if it spills over and comes out as tears. Treasure it, for it is a wonderful thing!
I've had feelings of deep happiness just walking alone in nature like that. Great clip.
Hey Cory, I've watched for a few years man and i've started to realise you'd be a perfect Natural Documentary Presenter. Get on it man, Next Chapter!
Truly is beautiful, on my bucket list for sure, thanks so much for showing Alaska's true beauty
This makes me wanna visit Alaska... I love the serenity of the nature. Low noise pollution....
This video was so beautiful that I genuinely shed a little tear. Alaska is stunning, visiting is definitely now on my bucket list
I tweeted this to you, but I thought I'd put it here too. This reminded me of one of my favorite John Muir quotes:
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity”
Not sayin' you're over-civilized or anything ;) I've felt this way a lot, though and this quote really resonates with me. My heart smiles just like yours when I'm out and away from civilization.
You love it because you are in your element !!!! Its so good to see you so happy !!!
OMG what you've shown us today was amazing ! Love it ! Keep living and beeing happy, I love what you're givin off !
I've been really down lately and this video made me feel a lot better. Thank you for that! You are living a lot of my dreams up there.

1:56 my jaw physically dropped at the sheer beauty! I an only imagine what it's like to actually see it with your own eyes!
This is probably my favorite video so far in the Alaska series. More like this!
I wish I could afford to live there.
The pure beauty of untouched nature.
It is beautiful!
DUDE! one of your best clips for sure! I love the background music by Ravel. I love watching you have your epiphanies, making connections with Gai'a.
This Video was Beautiful
Watching your vlogs makes me want to move to Alaska so bad that place is Beautiful!
You are really amazing......bringing us where we might not have the chance of going.....you are great.
LOVE going to Byron Glacier! One of the most amazing things about living here in Alaska is how many adventures exist right out your back door. Glad you are getting to enjoy it.
Such a cool quote "I'm not crazy, i'm living ! "
You make me want to move to Alaska... for real.
Incredible views! Thank you, your videos brighten up my mood. Been rough going here lately, nice to see the beauty nature offers up there in Alaska.
YEAH! Happy 100 everyone! Love the vlogs Cory, congrats on you and Kristen's( Sorry if I spelt her name wrong :( ) engagement so happy for you two!
Excellent background music! Very fitting with the location. I love Gymnopédie No. 1!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing Corey!
I love the turn of phrase you used 'makes my heart smile' which it turn made me smile thanks for sharing :)
It was all damn beautiful but you're "Mr. Safety!" :p Please be safe
Love that drive so much, especially in spring. Or Autumn. Or winter lol. Beluga point is stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful. Truly breathtaking. I love how you smile at everything. Keep it up, Cory. Do you. Be you. 😊
Going into that cave made me smile! I love the cold, and all northern landscape. I will one day go there and stay awhile!
So jealous! So lovely & cold! I'm from Australia & am getting over a bushfire close call! Send some of your winter this way.....pls???
That was truly stunning. Great job! Beautiful.
God Bless,
-Elizabeth Lehman
Be careful being out and about alone like that! More than what these guys are worried about! That running car reminded me of the crazy amount of people that are abducted or "disappear" in Alaska every year. Scary stuff Cory.
Stunning awesome beautiful and fantastic! Thanks for sharing this amazing place!
I can't help but express how much I love the way your footsteps sound on the snow *o*
The Seward highway is such a GORGEOUS drive. I love it! I try to do it once a month
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was my favorite vlog ever. Thanks for showing us such amazing places that we would probably never visit on our own.

I did ask to visit Alaska.
