Cory, if more people appreciated the scenery where you are the way you do, the world would be a far better place because people would be too busy being happy and enjoying things to be unkind, greedy and generally sucky. The world needs more people like you Cory.
I adore the relish that you so evidently have for pretty much everything. Many people lose the wonder that children regard the world with as they get older, and it's so nice to see that you maintain it. People like you need to fill the world, because the beauty you constantly see in it will make it a more beautiful place.
DudeLikeHELLA not gonna move there to live, but wow a vacation visit is a must, Beer Train and all this scenery, you are awesome to open my eyes to the world in Alaska I thank you haha
DudeLikeHELLA Will do! I might visit, first. Had a band director in high school who went every summer for vacation. I might hit him up one day and go with him just to see what it's like for myself. :D
no dont..you dont wanna live here..it sucks..lol..seriously..one good winter sends a lot of people running back to the lower 48..this dude has been lucky enough to have his first two winters the mildest we have had in over 10 years..we havent had a real winter for like 3 or 4 years..maybe 2016/17 will be normal..
Gotta say, I'm really glad you skipped that rock across the frozen lake. Because now I know you guys exist and I get to experience the beauty and fun you two see. So thanks!
My trip to Alaska this summer made me think of how much beauty stands untouched... and now I want to move there. After seeing you at Vidcon 2013 with my friend Stev Rodriguez, and seeing you've moved to Alaska, these vlogs help me experience what its like to live there day-to-day. You have already made a huge influence on people living outside of Alaska... but also to the people living IN Alaska. Keep it up! Thanks Cory
I've lived in Alaska my entire life (born in Cordova) and I must say it's very refreshing to see Alaska through "new" eyes! I'm glad you're enjoying it so much!
I get legitimately excited to plop down at the end of the day and watch your vlogs. I am in a constant state of depression and these videos always pick me up. You and Kristen seem like great people and your charisma is contagious.
Another winter-tip. =) When it starts getting really cold, look for some clothes and shoes for Penny (no, I'm not kidding). Since her feet and body are so small, the cold gets to her that much faster. An early warning sign is when she starts "skipping" on the ground, not wanting to put her feet on the cold ground. And be careful yourselves too, read up on hypothermia to be safe. I've got more than 15 winters in an avarage -20 celsius climate and I still make mistakes. Especially protect your extremeties like hands and face. Feet are easy to forget as well, a good pair of winter boots are worth their weight in gold.
LOVE the Solar Soma interlude! Beautiful! Shouldn't you, with your new eyes and your photography talents, be making coffee table books of all this magnificence you're seeing? Yes, I think you should. Cory Williams, Photographer!
Your videos almost made me cry several times already even though I just started following you not more then a week ago... It is so, so beautiful. The video and the music is beautiful, Alaska is beautiful, seeing you loving it is beautiful. You have a big heart dude :) And good camera.
Hearing you speak of how beautiful Alaska is reminds me of seeing it for myself in 2004. The drive along Turnagain Arm is breath-taking. I LOVE your vlogs. Thank you
No comments from Cory about all that snow on the ground?? I thought there would be a whole vid of his happy dance!!! LOL. It is beautiful, and it sure brightens up dark winter days and nights, but I've lived with snowy winters all my life and it gets to be a pain in butt as you get old.. like me. :) Love your posts Cory & Kristen, be well and enjoy every minute! Ian. :)
It's cool seeing you getting involved with our local news and radio! Lookin forward to what you guys do next. Quick tip, soon as spring/summer strikes, hit the mountains and go hiking!!!! The views we have up here are amazing.
The glacier in the lake is a piece that calves off of Portage Glacier, which is at the other end of Portage Lake from the Visitor Center. It has melted so much that you can't see it anymore unless you take a boat out or when the ice freezes over you can walk across and see it, it is amazing to see, you should definitely go! (Not sure if anyone commented that yet) It's looking so beautiful down the Seward Highway, gonna have to take a ride too! Nice vid again! :)
Once again, I smiled ear to ear through this one. I just love watching you experience Alaska. You express just how I feel about it all. Kristen's parents seem like really cool people too.
Cory: it is delightful to watch these videos. You are truly excited by all the little things in life that many people do not see and that is so cool. I am a recent subscriber, and your vlogs are particularly interesting since I was just in Alaska for the first time August 24-Sept 7 on a HAL cruise. One of our stops was Anchorage, so it is great fun to actually recognize things I saw. Loved the spring by the side of the road. When we drove past, there were people who live off the grid filling huge water bottles to take home. Apparently when they built the railroad that runs along that highway, they piped the water down to the road just for that purpose. Looking forward to you next vlog. They really "make my day".
Cory your videos make me wanna move to Alaska now. I'm not even there and I'm loving everything just from watching your vlogs, its like I'm right there with you. Awesome stuff. By the way, you're the first youtuber I ever subscribed to and I've been a fan ever since. Watching the vlogs and seeing all you've been through and experienced is just amazing. Stay awesome dude!
DudeLikeHELLA 💡 I know - I know! 🙌 pick me! I know! You could put a cam 🎥 on your hat ... yeah! Ta-da! 👏 *and "WE"* can call it ... get ready for it: *"_#The Cory's Cam_"* like, whoah 😮 awesomeness! Now, I must go massage the brain ... 💆 \m/ :D
Shame you did not have a gopro camera with you, you could have taken underwater footage of those salmon....I wonder if that is possible or if the camera would just make them swim away? Looks much colder around Anchorage than here in Whitehorse right now. We have had two super warm days and there is very little snow left......
Oh man! It is so BEAUTIFUL there!!! It reminds me of Montana. I need to get to Alaska someday. I feel the pangs of jealousy setting in. You and Kristen are so blessed to be surrounded by such beautiful scenery; I am happy for you both. :)
From starting now I'm going to try to look at the world through your eyes, the way you see beauty everywhere, things I walk past and don´t notice. Starting from now I will appreciate and take notice to my surroundings :) Thank you for showing us the world in a better way to look at it :)
lol Cory I love how you find these coniferous forests so absolutely amazing. I lived in Oregon for most of my life and most of the forests there are pretty much like that, so I never thought of them as out of the ordinary.
How do you drive straight on the road in Alaska with all the beauty that is around you on the road! I'm pretty sure I would be totaling a car every day if I lived in Alaska just by looking at the gorgeous scenery lol. I could probably stare at one of those mountains for an entire day. I've never seen a mountain in person. They are such a behemoth beauty of a structure, it blows my mind just think about them and seeing one in person is definitely on the bucket list. When you first said you were moving to Alaska, I questioned why someone would choose such a place, because what is in Alaska? These vlogs have totally, 110%, changed my perspective and I totally get it now. Thank you for sharing your adventures and life with youtube thus far! :D
I will be 67 in a few days this post made me so nostalgic my parents and my four siblings regularly camped only in California but it gave me the respect I.now have for nature this is so utterly ethereal and enchanting I love i love love love it want to buy a cabin waayyyyyyyy up in the mountains in Oregon I've been there many times but also in McCall Idaho oh and Colorado and Alaska ok I'll stop now thanks Corey absolutely lovely
Love your videos, just like being there, I could sit and watch them all day, you show places that most of us will never get to see. Well done and keep them coming
Recently just left Alaska to go to college in the Lower 48, your videos give me a piece of home! And yes... GCI sucks.... but it's the only one good enough to last through our winters
It more then beautiful Cory its absolutely stunning, i'm very jealous! Thank you for sharing with us everyday. By the way your not the only one who touches moss, my bf giggles at me when i get all touchy feely about nature ...but i think its one of the best ways to see the world, some people dont even see it, im glad im someone who does just like you, its become one of the main reason i watch your videos and ive been watching way before you moved out to Alaska, hands down i have enjoyed your Alaska vids the most. keeps it up :)
Hiiiii CORY. Let me introduse first... I'm from Belgium (brussels) and i just had been searching some videos on youtube and... pam... I've see "The coolest sound ever" and this was so BEAUTIFULLLL.... lol so I suscribed on your channel and begin to see all of your "living in Alaska" videos. Before i thinked that Alaska was just a BIG BIG glacier... i don't know why but i was thinking: this guys were just crazy to move there!!!.. And NOW, i just wanna see all this landscapes! for real! Thanks to you and Catherine (or Katherine, i don't know sorry lol) .... ahh and peggy and your cats lol. I keep waiting new videos and i'll try to send you some of Belgium's chocolates! Thank you and sorry for my english! ;-)
That large, creepy building in Whittier used to be military barracks in WW2. They were abandoned after a while. Its closed off now, due to the asbestos. However, there was this project to bring it back to its old glory. But you'd have to tear down the entire building, sending out asbestos dust everywhere. Right across the street there are housing units, so they felt it best to leave things be.
I feel like I'm watching a "Life In Alaska" series and the plot twist in the end is that the whole series was CGI. How in the world is Alaska that beautiful?!
Well... now we know where Kristen gets her Cutegasm reaction from. lol As winter sets in Alaska is just getting more beautiful. Have Kristen's parents seen northern lights yet? :)
I've only been watching you about 2 weeks but I can easily say I love watching your vlogs they're so cool and you live in a beautiful place! Can't wait to watch more and more of your vlogs!!!!

3:02 I know that look! Oh the roof line of a Jeep, Nothing beats that with being outdoors on an adventure!
I've never seen someone appreciate the beauty of the world around us as much as this dude. Pretty amazing.
That raven makes me happy, actually, scratch that, this whole vlog makes me happy. ^_^

I'm just watching this for the first time, and Kristen's mum is a national treasure. She's so sweet, haha.

Dude come to Iceland to taste the absolute best water/mountain water in the world, see the landscape and other magnificent things here in Iceland.
I'm 16 years old and I have lived in Iceland since I was born and there are still places that I just don't think are real.
