I am a lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage, and I must say that this documentary is probably the most realistic depiction of (summertime) Alaskan life I have seen. You hit all the major spots in Southcentral AK, interacted with the locals a lot, and didn't pronounce any of our place names incorrectly like 90%+ of other documentaries do. Kudos to you, especially for talking to the locals. Us Alaskans are more than used to tourists visiting, and most all of us are more than happy to show off & share our state with those who aren't fortunate enough to live here. There are some people who wait their whole life to be able to visit Alaska, and it's so easy to take this beautiful state for granted when you live here all the time. Your documentary makes me realize how lucky I am. Thank you.
This is the kind of feedback that wakes me up in the morning and keeps me going. Thank you for recognizing my interest in the people. I know it is not about just how beautiful a place is but the people who make it up. Everyone has a story to tell and I just want to hear them. Alaska is my favorite place to date. I can not wait to return and hope to connect with more locals like yourself who can teach me more.
Thanks so much. One of the best Alaska vacation videos we've seen. You helped us plan our trip out which has us starting in Fairbanks and driving down to Seward.
What a moving piece! I certainly felt as if time stood still as I was completely enthralled from the majesty of, of EveryThing! Now I'm hungry for Salmon! 😋
Thanks so much for that wonderful feedback Jeffrey! That gives me a lot of inspiration to keep making these kinds of films! It’s a lot of work so it’s a really big deal to me when someone takes time out of their day to write me about it. 🙏🏽
I just Returned from my Trip in Alaska. I went May 3- 10. I went to one of the places you mentioned Hope, Alaska. I found it Beautiful and Peaceful. Thank you for your videos
I've been to nearly all the places you went and it was so good to see them again. Your filming and narration was outstanding. I will be viewing more of your videos. ❤
Hey that’s so cool that you’ve been there! Thanks for the kind words. Check out my travel channel for more content like this in the future. We’re headed to Norway this August: youtube.com/@theskyelounge?si=s42cf-vyvKQ5C5TM
Amazing film! So glad for the texture you gave Alaska. Can't wait to see it someday! I started watching your channel with your airplane renovation videos. Hope to see some more of those in the near future! Cheers!!
This was a wonderful documentary!! Great drone footage helped me get the perspective of all the areas that you visited. I will be visiting Alaska in less than 2 months. Your film makes me even more excited about our upcoming visit! Thanks for taking time away from your vacation to capture Alaska for viewers like myself.
I wish I hadn't watched this late at night - all that gorgeous food is driving me crazy. Some amazing footage, and interesting mini interviews with the locals. 👍🙂
Haha I have a hard time watching food as well. I love it. Thanks Duke! I’m glad you pointed out the interviews. I feel they are really important for capturing the heart and soul of a location.
This film brought so many great memories back from my trip I took with my late parents back in 1990.Every location on this film,I felt like a step back in time. The segment in which you drove off the film reminded me of the off road My dad took,it felt like another world, like a scene out of sound of music through the Alps, made me tear up then and now.Someday will return.A+++
Wow. That is unbelievable to hear. I’m glad you reached out and shared that with me. Can you imagine if I could make more of these films more often? 😊 What a memory to be able to re-live. I thought I would be able to fill this channel with more travel films but it was just too expensive for me to do this stuff all of the time. However, we are finally headed to Norway in a week …
Finally I was able to see your incredible work! I really enjoyed the story of Mel, it felt so wholesome. It was really great to know a few things about Alaska that I was totally unaware of, especially about the fish! The beers and food! Oh my, I can only imagine how amazing it tasted. Thank you for sharing a mix of documentary and vlog style. Keep it up! 🙌🏻
Yayy! I’m so glad you checked it out. Meeting Barbara & Mel was definitely a highlight. What a different lifestyle than the one I live lol. I could totally live off the grid there for a while. The food was so incredible. Expensive - but delish. The plan is to go back in Feb! Just don’t know what year yet. 😂
Best video on AK that I've watched!!! Btw, I'm from sw fl. Hubs and i are visiting Anchorage, Seward, Talkneeta, Cantwell and Denali next week! WOOHOOO

Wow , just amazing footage , thank you so much for sharing this. Another great piece of work. I've had fresh Alaska Halibut in Pennsylvania , melt in the mouth. Love your videos , been watching since you had your honeymoon here in Ireland. Thanks again an stay safe
Thank you to the moon and back! Wow, that Alaska Halibut you had in Pennsylvania sounds memorable :D Great to hear you are enjoying my films! I'll keep making things and hopefully we will run into you one day.
Too funny . I just discovered your channel & commented on your Belize trip , Belize is where I currently live . Oddly enough the next video on your list I’m watching mentions William Seward . When I was growing up the rear parking lot of my father’s restaurant in Florida NY.had a barn , that is the very barn where William Seward was born on may 16th 1801 , he purchased Alaska for a penny an acre in 1867 after his term as Secretary of State under president Lincoln in 1865 , when Seward was fatally attacked & lived while president Lincoln was killed . I didn’t find this out in school , I found out from a plaque in front of our restaurant lol 😆
Oh wow! How about that haha. I don’t know if you can tell but I am a big fan of history and was born too late. Thanks for sharing all of that and watching my film!
Hey thanks so much! I hope I can find the time and funding to make more of these kinds of films, more often. It was a lot of work so I really appreciate your support!

..a good well rounded video of the local region, but lacks depth where living here full time for more than 65 years might portray to a flash-in-the-pan instant visitor one may discover shopping in Anchorage Walmart, in route to their dream vacation by bus to Denali Park; from Europe..
Where I've lived here most times, getting water in winter is a problem and wells are impractical, costly and deep; to just get salt water, more often than not!
