Echo Skates - First impressions, fit check and first session

- Echo Skates is the new brand from Stateside Skates, the company previously responsible for budget entry level brand Anarchy. This time round, they have set out to create something aimed at the core audience of aggressive skaters rather than trying to appeal to first-time buyer. Echo debuted their new skate at Winterclash 2024, a new mould made from 30% recycled plastic and featuring a unique X-shape mounting system - and it certainly caused a lot of discussion...although many people commented on the skate looking quite similar to another boot currently on the market.
In this video I talk through the various features and offer my thoughts on the aspects of the skate I like and the parts I am less impressed with. There is also some footage from the first session on the stock setup. Oh, and I reveal the name of the skate. No, it's not just called Echo!

That green and purple combo isn’t the worst color. The frames look like a solid pick up if they were cheap and good. So many people would get them.

Good call that at least makes sense cos I agree with the review it’s sort of would look better without but I guess if it’s part of the brand I can forgive it easier lol

Nice review. Does the frame have aluminium spacers? Also, what is the hardness of the wheels?
Yes, it has. The wheels don’t have any info about the hardness on them. I would say they are pretty soft because they started coning after one session.
Does/could that soul plate fit on a 909? Could solve the durability and availability issues of the original one...cant wait to see the rest of the review
Annoyingly, I didn’t have a 909 to try. Also, I skate the medium 909 and this skate would be the equivalent to a large 909
Skate seems like a winner..wish it didnt have the thumb print smear though.

@@michaelobrien6221 the only reason these aren’t capped is because they are public paths. If it was private property, they would have been.

skate companies be like: ok we have a target market of about 2000 people max. lets make the skate green to get it down to 25 people.
@@leinadllerp by the looks of things, quite a few people have ordered the green. I did a poll on the channel and it was an even split of people who loved it and hated it.
@@wheelsceneblading it'll still perform worse than i.e. aj all black model. As most skate companies struggle and can't even pay their riders not even talking about paying decently or even insurance I've always considered crazy color schemes a weird idea. Like the yellow killer bees etc. Market is small money is scarce and green skates probably won't do well. Might be wrong but it's probably not the smartest marketing decision 😅

I don’t see the big issue with the green. There’s all orange all red all yellow all pink all blue don’t see why an all green one is such a big deal with everyone who sees this skate. If anything it would be wierd if someone hadn’t done it 😂

@@wheelsceneblading I think the yellow Munoz skate is pretty cool though for some reason I wouldn’t buy but think they pulled it off a lot better than some, the whole bright colour thing same with the pink EQ

@@wheelsceneblading 😂 fair enough. Have to sort of agree in general I prefer a more subtle look although I had to put blue Oysi frames on coz I couldn’t find black or white anywhere in stock atm

Skated them for 7.5 hours yesterday with no issues! Broke the Sway buckle in one session!
