    Was fifty pounds overweight, and felt awful. While browsing you tube, I found the Leslie Sansome Walk at Home videos. Started with a mile each day, working up to three miles each day six days a week taking Sundays off as rest. Takes less than a hour to do. Lost seventeen pounds the first month, with a total of 52 pounds in six months. The exercise felt great and actually curbed my appetite so when I eat I don't eat as much and feel full quicker. A few of my friends are on Ozempic and haven't even come close to my results. One friend quit the drug and did the videos instead and lost twenty more pounds. My cardiologist was extremely happy, my blood pressure returned to normal and so did my cholesterol. It didn't cost a thing except for The View losing me as a viewer to do exercise videos (no more unproductive gossip shows even quitting that made things better). This video is an inspiration.

    While I’m not on a diet I started making better healthier decisions of what I eat and walking for 30 mins a day. I noticed a difference in less than a month. My pants feel looser and my belly is not as bloated. UPDATE: I lost 14 lbs in two months and my Triglycerides went from 519 to 131. My overal cholesterol went from 264 to 191.

    Years ago I was over 300 pounds. During the pandemic, I decided to make major lifestyle changes. I too started to walk. My first walk was to the community mailbox area and back. I was out of breath. I decided to continue. I have lost over 100 pounds. I walk almost every day. I love it. I recommend walking for everybody.

    He lost that much with only 3-4 miles of walking daily? You keep hearing 10k, 15k, 20k steps a day. Sure it's faster but the chances are one doesn't stick to it. The best weight loss plan is the one you can stick to consecutively. This guy is truly an inspiration and motivation and he seem friendly too :D

    • @isaiahdaniel7241
      @isaiahdaniel7241 11 месяцев назад +5

      If you segment it per day 3-4 miles seems fair. At walking pace depending on speed you could do it 90-120 minutes. He weighed 400+ at some point. As we get older our scale of time seemingly diminishes. Daily dedication over a year will definitely show results. If you account for everything else that happens in daily life I’d say it’s serious about the commitment.

      @@jenniferroe297 Exactly! I'm not ashamed to say that I'm close to his beginner weight at 170kg. Let me tell you from experience that walking isn't that easy but slow. Life is not easy and you can't pursue the things you really want to do physical wise like Taekwondo for example. I bet I'm judged alot aswell (not that I care) because we are first and foremost visual creatures and people always make assessments based on what they see. Of course not all 😛

    I echo the sentiments here. I try to walk five miles every morning (except if the weather is severe) and I can say that it works. 5 years ago, I weighed 199 lbs, my triglycerides were about 1,417, my cholesterol was around 280 and my blood sugar was over 100.
    At my last yearly medical check, I weighed around 160 pounds, my triglycerides were around 130 and my blood sugar was 84.
    Walking works wonders. Yes, I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times, but what’s important is that you get back on it. Don’t give up.
    I believe things like diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol could become a thing of the past if people would just exercise daily and eat healthy. We can do this!
    In the past 2.5 years, I have walked over 1,300 miles and counting. It really does work!

    A great hack is to do 10-20K steps over the whole day vs doing fewer long walks. Shorter more frequent walks are easier to fit in and it all averages out the same.
    Overall though, people really do underestimate how effective walking truly is. They figure it's too basic/easy on paper. But when you burn 500-600 calories for every 10K steps and that's daily? It adds up.

      110 pounds is 350.000 kcal or 960 kcal a day. A 40 year old man at 403 pounds walking at a moderate pace for an hour burns about 650 kcal. As he lost weight and started with less, let's go with him burning 4-500 a day on average over a year. In other words, half from walking, half from diet. A single can of soda equals walking 1.5 miles at a brisk pace, so cutting just one or 2 a day is a significant contribution.

      Anytime you move, you burn a calorie. Eating less and making healthier food choices is the most important factor in weight loss, but walking requires energy, and energy requires calories. The more you move, the more your body has to burn calories in order to create that necessary energy. It definitely helps.
