Having the same experience right now, and I’m very experienced with fixing saws. This video made me feel better at least. Glad to know I’m in good company. Frustrating! Going to try the torch on spark plug idea, maybe fresh gas after that.
Check your carburetor for fast idle position. if the throttle plate is completely closed , your saw wont start. There are 2 carburetors for this saw. One depends on the plastic choke shaft and trigger and the other has a cam linkage that insures the fast idle stays open.
I've just received my G660 un boxed and assembled, have gone over and double checked every nut n bolt, just can't get it to fire up???running 40.1 fuel, plug has been in and out numerous times, and there is a strong smell of fuel after pullstart?so it's getting fuel???
I have this exact same saw I bought for using my Alaskan sawmill Ran amazing first pull every time ❗️ Than one day a year ago after I just laid a 20” butt tree down it STOPPED and has never run again😢❗️ This saws enough to piss off the Pope I’ve changed coils , plugs and even the fly wheel WTF Still no start. I’ve got the same amount of spark as you

You have to press the compression release every time you pull and it pops up without starting. I'm surprised the string didn't break lol

Bad as it smoking I would say you got your oil and gas mixture wrong
What does torching the spark plug do?
Heats it up. Burns the carbon. Fires instantly.
