▬▬▬▬ GAME INFO ▬▬▬▬
Oxenfree is a supernatural thriller about a group of friends who unwittingly open a ghostly rift. In Oxenfree, you play as Alex, a bright, rebellious teenager who brings her new stepbrother Jonas to an overnight party on an old military island. The night takes a terrifying turn when you unwittingly open a ghostly gate spawned from the island’s cryptic past. How you deal with these events, your peers, and the ominous creatures you’ve unleashed in Oxenfree is up to you.
YOU determine every aspect of Alex's story while exploring Edwards Island, uncovering the base's dark past, and changing the course of your friends' lives.
Oxenfree gameplay features:
• An intelligent conversation system that changes the story and your relationships based on every decision
• A unique radio mechanic that allows Alex to communicate with mysterious spectres and manipulate her world
• Art from Disney alum and an original soundtrack by scntfc (Sword & Sworcery, Galak-Z)
• Multiple mysteries to unravel, spanning decades and lifetimes
• Inspired by little-known events of World War II
Oxenfree stars:
• Erin Yvette (The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands)
• Gavin Hammon (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tomb Raider)
• Britanni Johnson (Borderlands, Borderlands 2)
There are already plans from Robert Kirkman’s (The Walking Dead) Skybound Entertainment to develop a film based on Oxenfree. This Oxenfree film making-of series is already underway and the first episode is here: • OXENFREE | Part 1: The...
In the Part 1 video of Oxenfree gameplay walkthrough/playthrough, it introduces us to our main characters: Alex, Jonas, Ren, Nona, and Clarissa. Alex, Jonas, and Ren arrive on the island by boat and quickly join with Nona and Clarissa. They share stories and dares around the campfire, and we quickly learn that perhaps they don’t have the best of matching personalities.
This let's play video footage of Oxenfree is blind and recorded on the PC version in 1080p / 60fps. It is a blind gameplay/walkthrough video. Oxenfree. This particular video is a video showing one of many Oxenfree endings, where Alex's brother, Michael is saved. Probably the most ideal Oxenfree ending in terms of amount of people saved, but probably also completely differently from what we expected to come out with.

As of writing, Oxenfree has received a 79/100 on Metacritic: www.metacritic....
You save Michael from drowning by ALWAYS convincing him to stay home. And him and Clarissa end up together if you support them.
...
I really want to see Ren's version of this story. Only because Jonas was with Alex most of the time so we know what he went through, but since Nona was with Ren majority of the time we don't actually know what either of them went through. I'm just more curious about Ren because he was stoned and alone a lot of the time, on top of being possessed. It would be really cool to see all of their versions though since they all had their own supernatural things going on.
I also wonder what loop they all had to repeat. It seems as though they all got trapped, because Alex did even after choosing to leave Clarissa. So I'm sure they all don't remember it the way Alex does.
Could be a nice DLC, as if that’ll ever happen
I feel best case scenario is everyone is happy and Michael stays dead. Micheal's death had nothing to do with these ghost, he died that's what happens when you drown.
u die when u drown??? no way
When you're gone, you're gone, no reason to not stay gone, unless you have something else to do and be un-gone.
This whole game is a mind fuck
Yep I agree my head hurts now
The creators were fucking geniuses tho
I swear this game feels like playing the Interstellar movie because it felt like having a few flashbacks, random moments where you warn the past out of an other dimension.
The "best ending" (where micheal is alive and with Clarissa) is honestly my least favourite. I don't like him being alive, i feel like it just doesn't work
Anonomoose I understand what you mean it kinda ruins the whole jonas and alex brother and sister thing which is quite sad
It doesn’t, the whole emotional part of the story was coping with your brother’s death, and getting to know your new one (or getting to know your other friends) I think that bringing Michael back ruins all of that.
@tencen7121 I think thats why the other ending where we don't save Michael, at all is canon, instead we cope with it, but remain stuck in the loop. In oxenfree 2
I think when they say “scrap it”. Its kinda like the ghosts are saying lets throw this timeline out. Its no use. Then they reset the loop. They need Alex. Because they are too afraid to let go.
there's actually a part where you rewind all the after you picked up Jonas. You're sitting in front of a quick check kinda place and Ren says "If there a voice, we stay, if there's music, we wait for Ally." Then, the music plays to whatever station it's on, but switches to Alex saying (roughly) Stay. You won't regret it.
Yes, I had that too. I reckon it only happens in the second or subsequent gameplays if you choose to continue the timeline
@@chitsb Nope, it happens when you use the radio again in the bunker, you get the last time to use that large radio box, only get to send message if you told Micheal that "it's worth a shot to try and talk to alternate reality/timelines" then the options bubble would appear to choose from, and those chosen words would be broadcasted after Alex and everyone else fought, but you'll notice that shining things on the boat indicating you guys are stuck there forever, .... but the alternate timeline will be shown after Young Alex talked to Micheal, that scene where in 7/11 market kinda thing, where there about to head into the island again, that options will now affect if Ren would change his mind about going to edward island..... therefore, You are stuck in the islands forever again, but the alternate version is saved.
You can also go through the whole game without saying anything, but I don't blame you if you don't want to do that one.
+Nick Schalk I might do this one too but I think the make everyone hate you one will probably bring about more interesting results -- will see if I get around to it!
+Materwelonz Early in the beginning of the game, there's a choice if you want to go into the cave or not. There's even an option where you can use the walkway, and walk away from the group after truth or slap when nona is taking a picture. What happens when you insist on not going into the hole that jonas goes into, and what happens when you go off away from the group with the set of stairs that lay where the cave is?
Tony Ravioli the set of stair lead to Adler estate, once you opened the gate at Adler estate and your are heading to the house there are stairs that lead downward and it takes you to the beach.
Tony Ravioli the game basically makes you go into the cave one way or another, and when you convince Jonas to leave the cave before all the crap goes down with the triangle opening the loop, there’s no opening to the cave the way you came, thus forcing you to open the loop anyways.
@@FreshAsianSwagg it forces you to open the loop
I get what the book said. He said he remembered what hadn't happened, what he saw that others didnt, and it would be soon that he would only remember those things, not the things that actually happened.
Great job
To alienate Ren, rescue Clarissa first, leave him behind when you go to get the key, plot with the ghosts to get rid of Clarissa and then tell him about it. To get Jonas to hate you, agree to let Clarissa be with the ghosts or whatever then tell him, blame him for mistakes, leave him behind when you go the Parks Office, and keep him from talking to his mom. Hope that helps!!
ok, what ever ending you look at, WHO THE FUCK TOOK THE FINAL PHOTO??
This game is pretty good
It's very underrated.
23:20
Clarissa: It was my dad. It was a night where... I don't even remember why she was mad at me.
Beautiful error in the script right there.
Maybe she has two moms and calls one of them Dad?
Alex Baldwin s
mine said it was her sister
... my brain doesn't work any more
Frameshift wait then that would mean her mom and mom separated and alex and Michael were formed through insemination. Awesome and they may have two different dads.
You can end the time loop but Michael isn't saved and you warn yourself to not go to Edwards Island in the first place. You then leave with Jonas (who is still your step brother) and Ren to go get pizza. Nona and Clarissa are not seen tho so they mightve just gone to the island and never gone into the cave.
I got the ending where I saved everyone and Michael was thinking of moving out with Clarissa, still the journey was leading to loop again as Alex said she was going with Ren to the beach party on the island.
It seems to me like um. only the ending where Alex tells "another timeline" Alex not to come to the island - is basically the only & "partial" one, where you don't join the crew with everyone (or atleast one timeline of Alex & her friends), where you - the actual experiencer, still is stuck.
But otherwise, this game is basically about the children being stuck Exactly like the crew. The crew has just forgotten most of their individuality due to the countless time loops whereas the children are still surviving the loops mentally, their individualities still stand. Although the more they experiment how to do things differently on every turn & fail ultimately, the more angered and sort of... "all personality" = "no personality" they become. Because if you have infinite time to try out situations infinitely, among them the suicides of wanting to end the loop, without it working and still reappearing - then what the game authors suggest is - we lose any sense of individuality and blend to "all the same, with only anger for the unfairness of the reality".
confirmed: you can escape the loop. look upon RUclips
secret ending: is leave pssible
It's not escaping the loop. It's just alternate version of Alex and the gang. The OG Alex is still stuck.
@@borek92 it's better though. At least one version of Alex would live her life nornally.
I got the ending where I sacrificed Clarissa, Nona and Ren didn’t date, and Jonas didn’t bond with Alex… looks like I got the worse ending first time ;-;
You ditched everyone? 😭
That was the first ending I got because yes, I ditched everyone! 😂
The real ending is you been stuck forever like the ghost said you only prevent the other alex to go to the island but down in the comment and is true the real crew are stuck forever hoping the other group to not go but they still stuck no matter how much you try. That’s why the game says continue
Press continue after an ending and the game will start up different. Right when the game ends. Idk what ending have a different start up but I know the one jacksepticeye had a different start up but he didnt notice it was different when he start it again
NPC #3221357 I just played the game (ending with Michael alive or whatever) and started the game all over and the beginning was a bit different.
On my second runthrough, I managed to break the loop. I'll let you take a few guesses as to who, but it involved stopping Jonas from talking to his mom, and sacrificing Clarissa. But the way it played out did actually surprise me. And ultimately stopped Ren, Alex, and Jonas from even going to the island.
The World of Verias I never do any of those things and managed to get the ending I think you’re talking about. The one where Allison bails on Ren and you get pizza.
I think that ending may be a reward for doing a second play through and taking every chance to communicate with the outside world
the game is so good, the music, eerieness, the storyline everything about it is so good. I also god jumpscared a couple times which symbolizes a good horror. Although I wouldn’t call it a horror game
I like how a person is dead but they are smiling
but, the day they went to the island was kinda long after michael drowned
you can even see how alex already overcame his death
and no one there knew michael besides clarissa and alex
What? When?
Since everything goes in this game, I wouldn't call it a far stretch to say: the only ones who can fix this mess are:
a) Distant future humans who have learned to exist / understand existence in 4 dimensions (3 space + 1 time) finally clean up / fix the mess.
b) Present, past or future aliens come clean up / fix the mess. Would be a nice little add.
I actually tried to piss off everyone, except for Clarissa (I didn't get her to like Alex in the first run), in my second run. Jonas even called me out on it, when I chose that I've been wih him all night when the group is splitting up at Maggie's house, with Ren and Nona taking off to the nuclear bomb shelter and Jonas and Alex going to the station. And Ren gave me that "something broke between us this night" talk. But nonetheless I ended up with a happy end for everyone (I accidentally brought Michael back to life and Jonas was Alex's good friend at the end, hugging her, even though I was a complete asshole to him all night and I also didn't let him speak to his mom). Ren and Nona got together, even after I called out Ren's crush on Nona and discouraged Nona to get together with Ren. I still don't know what happened to get the best ending after being a complete jerk to everyone except Clarissa. It was quite disappointing, because I wanted to see what their negative ending dialogues were. At least I succeeded in getting Clarissa to like me, I guess, lol.
+Limes and Lemons The key point seems to be plotting with the ghosts against Clarissa (whether you go through with that or not at the end is up to the player, I guess) and to tell the boys about it, because I did everything else. I went to Clarissa first, I took Nona to get the key (in both runs), I blamed Jonas for mistakes. The thing is though, I believe if you plot with the ghosts that they can have Clarissa, you betray her in that moment, regardless of if you stick to this plan or not, and it has a negative effect on your relationship with her. Not sure about that, but it seems possible. So I don't even know if you can get an ending where you make up with Clarissa, but everyone else hates you.
How do you guys get Michael back to life? I have heard it is to make him not leave for college... but I wanted him to end up with Clarissa. So - where is the option for us to stop him drowning and save him?
Ahh thank you for your time. I really dont want to waste my time trying so many endings haha.
LOL
I never got any real conversation in the cave because I just immediately went about radioing them into oblivion.
All I got was something like
"Have you ever waded through the void...
you'll never stop u...
Oh you're already star...
you'll be stuck here forev....
no wait, don't....."
_fade to black._
I wasn't taking any chances with the slippery fuckers. Too many random timed puzzles. Looks like the best way is to talk them out of it though.
jonnyt8524 meee too 😂😂
In my gameplay.
-I managed to collect 8 of the anomalies.
-Was nice to Jonas and spent most of the time.
- Took Nona with me when looking for the key.
( Nona and Ren didn't get together )
-Save Clarissa.
I am of the 5% that brought Mike back and saved his relationship with clarissa
I did it too
Everyone (even Michael) lived and I got Nona and Ren to date on my first run.
Rens book tells how it's *that* easy to mess up the game
My ending was the worst, kept distance with Jonas, Ren, also Ren didn't make up with Nona. Saved Clarissa tho. Just figured I could also save Michael. Nope, didn't happen
You apparently can save michael and have him dating clarissa. But I don't know how to save him...
@@Kewlausgirl when he asks you if he can leave with clarissa say no. Then there will be no going away swimming party so he would never have drowned
Clarissa could not get erased from existence because the ghosts didn't have the power to erase her whole line of ancestry. That's the part that doesn't make sense.
Here btw you can close the time loop by closing the time portal by using the radio to reverse the temporal loop and kill all the ghosts
When Nona had that question on Ephiphany, I was convinced she wasn’t the brightest bulb. And then she spoke of a Bosnian documentary....
the loop thingy is so unsatisfying uuuggghhh
10:20 if you don't let michael go he will be with you on that boat and yu cahnge the past jonas dad is alive michael is alive and also everyone only clarissa
I wish this game was more popular, then I’d have more answers
wait oxenfree is not brand new dang you jack
I wonder if it's possible for everyone to die and Alex leaves the island alone?
I decided to leave Michael dead, he had nothing to do with the events that where happening that night, he was only being used to mentally fuck up the main character and the main character just sees him because it's something she cares about.
i got an ending where Micheal was alive and Clarissa hates us and wasnt with Micheal.
Apparently you can get an ending with Clarissa and Michael dating... with Michael STILL alive. And Jonas as your friend.
But apparently there is still a way to not even go through the time loop at all.
I am wondering - has anyone said anything other than "wait haven't I heard this before?" in the dialogue. Maybe it won't loop again?
Yes, the Clarissa/Michael ending is actually the first one I got: ruclips.net/video/6I2SXN4kkco/видео.html
To not go through the time loop -- I'm not sure which part that is but you might be talking about the new DLC. In the DLC, Alex/Jonas/Ren can get too scared from what they hear on the radio and chicken out of going to the island at all.
+Materwelonz i didn't see any dlc on steam :/
I'll have a look again. I also think there is another way.
So i started the second playthrough of the game. This time the ghosts seem kind of reluctant to go through it all again. They also say she fails again and again.
Now the theory is Alex sacrificed herself long ago and was stuck in the dimension in the timeloop over and over again.
Now, isn't that where both the ghosts and Anna is? How are they able to play with her reality and time loop. Wouldn't their timeloop have been when they were in the sub? Isnt it the whole idea of playing through the time loop over and over again that..you can't get out?
But if this is a time loop for Alex. How is it in the timeline alternative realities she plays through that she cannot remember the entire loop, when she can remember straight awayv the small time loops she goes through. And she seems to be the only onewho instantly remembers the timeline and is not a easily possesed by the ghosts - and they also never seem to want her - only her friends.
+Kewlausgirl sorry for the long reading.. but i find it interesting that:
1. She can tell she is in a small time loop and not the large one
2. The ghosts never want her, only her friends and there is never an option in the versions we play through to give ourselves up to the dimension.
3. If Alex had already given herself up to the dimension and is continuously replaying this in the dimension, then why do the ghosts say that:
a) All the OTHER Alex's fail and,
b) To take care of the life you have left child, and to take notice of what you can (or something similar).
In the second playthrough I have discovered:
a) The radio where you can send through the message of: HELP WE ARE STUCK IN THE CAVE.
to which the ghosts say: Stop trying. Alex's tried before. No use.
b) the radio at the camp with the soccer ball. You can also send out a message there. The ghosts also say there is no use. You cannot escape. It never works.
Now in all the stories i have read with time loops or watched in sci fi series.
Fringe, Twilight Zone, Doctor Who, RL Stine, Diana Wynne Jones and more i can't think of... they all have the person themselves a message and getting themselves out of the loop. Or they play through until finally each little playthrough and change they made cracks the loop.
I think with some of the recordings they are Alex trying to get through to the past self to not take the trip at all. Coz the only way to end a loop is for all the changes to finally stick or to never have it happen to begin with.
You can actually warn another reality Alex to not go and she and Jonas and Ren go for pizza.
@@datniggakermit5287 Which isn't even that much of a "happy ending", since the Alex we know is still trapped in the loop.
I got the good ending where you get away with everyone!
I experienced two other things:
1. Just before entering the bunker, the three others stood in a straight line, rather spookily, and I had the option to hug and speak to each of them before entering the shelter. I guess this was because I did not have those conversations at the Adler estate.
2. In my second gameplay, continued timeline, I had the option to warn Alex not to use the radio in the island. She, Jonas and Ren hear it while waiting for the ferry. Ren is about to laugh it off as a prank but Alex takes it seriously, and they decide not to go to the island after all.
1. She did it too.
2. That's a DLC extension of the game. It wasn't available back when she first played. She returned to the game later to do it.
this is odd... I haven't seen an ending without Michael... although I've only seen 2 others
You know youd think there be an ending where you actually have a way to get out of the loop, but no, the game or the ghosts dont give her that choice the only ending she can have is if she bonds with everyone, and copes with her brothers death. I mean ig it be too easy for teen to figure out how to eacape a loop. Which is why there is many alternative endings, but only one real canon ending, you bonded but your still stuck, you sacrificed someone but your still stuck, and you didnt bond with either, you didnt let go of your brothers death and saved him, but your still stuck, ig ita because like that one comment said, the ghosts erase every timeline you do.
I don't understand how come after you sacrifice clarissa you still stuck in the loop wtf. Shouldn't we be free from the time loop after that?
+Zainal Akram Maybe the ghosts are trying to get Alex to sacrifice her friends one by one in each time loop, no matter how many times it'll take.
+boo yah ooh nice theory. looks possible.
Or maybe it just didn’t work as the ghosts thought it would
13:00 I feel so bad for Clarissa! :'(
I hope they make a prequel
OK, several playthroughs I've watched have all gone for 'I went to college here'. What happens if you pick the others? Same sort of brief Michael-takeover/tape-slowdown/time-rewind?
Yup, no matter what you pick, the creepy rewind thing still happens.
OK, thank you! It is a good game though~
Basically, probably the most "pointless choice that looked important on first playthrough" in history xD
Roadent1241 you should watch jacksepticeyes last episode, he didn't pick that
Fuck me dude i did revive that michael guy but what screwed me up the most is when jonah whatever is name was, completely forgot about alex and their adventures.. dammit its just depressing all of that adventure with him was nothing. Fuck ;-;
There is one more when you are under water with the choosesing u just play with the redeow and the triengoll
At 17:48, who's the person floating in the bottom right corner?
nickaugie well at that time; they'd been there for a while. And if you watch a little longer- you'll realise it's Nona, Ren and Jonad
nickaugie nona
Nona. Ren and Jonas are also there if you look closely.
ban"anna" haha
OK I completed it 3 times 3 different endings but never could get nona and ren to date! Gotta play again!
Saved Michael second time around
My ending.. Her brothe still alive..
am i the only one who ditched Clarissa?😂
Does anybody knows how to get that *freakin* photo!!!? ITS JUST BETTER THAN THE ONE THAT NONA TAKES
Do you know you can do something else instead of talking or negotiating with the ghosts ? but i don't think it will change much to the outcome
+Ding Chick I've only done that part twice but it doesn't seem like it. Using different names doesn't seem to change all that much either
i mean you could use something to close the gate/portal thing in the beach side scene
but from what i know it is just some options that won't do much to the final outcome, just some different interactions
I like the last one the best
Okay so I saved Clarissa and the ending was the same but like alex has to be dead and is stuck in this fake life she thinks is real. Lets just say alex is dead and she doesnt know and her dead life is like her alive life. Ending is weird IDK
I sacrificed Clarissa saved Michel and brought nona and Ren together
Sorry for my bad english! I have a question? I ended the game once. I continued with the temporal line but the game started from the beginning again. I mean is this how it works? I must complete ALL the game AGAIN for seeing the other finals?
Tap keep timeline
But how do you even have a good relationship with clarissa you rarelly talk to her?
There is an other ending one of it is they are at a convenience store
Try closing the hole
Did you got the ending when you get Nona and Jonas together?
+Monochrome Lol wtf, you're bullshitting me right!?
+Materwelonz I heard the game developers say that's the secret ending. Who knew? But I haven't seen evidence of that yet.
I heard that this game gonna have an ARG side thing in real life
That's what I've been looking for!
+Materwelonz if you take Ren with you to search for the keys, Nona and Jonas talk about going to a dinner together when you get back. Not sure if that technically means they're together or you need to do something else too
I got this ending (first one in the vid) just now and idk how to not get stuck in the time loop idk what u did wrong 😭 Nona and Ren aren’t together tho idk how to do that
I still had the time loop i did not bond with jonas i got ren and nona to date and clarrisa hates me and i went to clollege what did i get
Where is the picture in the thumbnail from? Is it a fan picture or one of the alt ending pictures?
It's from the picture they took on the beach together.
I've never gotten that picture before. What do you have to do to get it?
Thanks for the videos, and the unobtrusive commentary :-)
Do you play the whole game again to just to see the other endings? or is there a hack to it? I would like to try the different endings for myself too
+Nicole It's mostly just playing the game again. You can roll back to different saves too, but you had to have saved them before you reached ending the first time since it pretty much deletes your save once you reach the end.
12:27 my end
I somehow got Firestarter first try.
I made someone hate me my first time
I'm not sure but I think I got the true ending... ;_;
+Zip Zap There is no "true" ending. Alex is stuck in a time loop that keeps resetting back to the beginning. All "endings" are meaningless because the story reverts back to its origin with no real conclusion, just a few alternate paths that ultimately lead to the same place (the beginning).
You could say that there is no ending at all.
Some people might get a kick out of that, but I was personally very disappointed. I saw this kind of ending before with a book series I was following (won't say the name to keep from spoiling it), and the "end" just felt flat, like it just wouldn't commit to something. Games with multiple endings at the very least give you the notion that things could have turned out in very different ways, that their reality could split into different paths and go from there, that there is a sense of commitment to a story line (and the cool thing is that you can then explore alternate ends on separate playthroughs), and this game was going for that angle. But then it turns into one giant loop, and that's just not a very good or particularly creative twist in my opinion.
Really, really liked the game up to that point.
That isn't necessarily true. Apparently when you get to the second playthrough you can hear a warning recorded from yourself in the first playthrough to not go to the island. Buuut I don't know how to do that.
I still can't figure out how I could have saved michael from drowning.
Kewlausgirl convincehim to never leave home
It looks like a lot fun but creepy at the same time ! Is that make sence ? Probably not . ☺
+Aleksandra Kazakova (loveeverythink1122) Sure it does, horror movies are scary but fun to watch!
+Materwelonlz Exacly !!! ☺ ( Sorry if i write it wrong i'm not so good at english ) . ☺
Hands up for those who sacrifice clarrissa haha.
Can you not escape the loop?
Carpet Hed you can't, you started the loop by tuning to their signal so a version of Alex will be infinitely stuck in a loop while the other versions of Alex live thier life normaly
Well you can stop the loop in your second play through... but the OG alex is still stuck forever
Could someone tell me at what part in the game you find out about a crewman's name
Bacon Strips you have to collect the Adler letters
Is it posible to kill Clarissa but save Michael?
probably
it is
Santi Amin yes
Jacksepticeye did that ending :P
he had the least at each on of the ending percentages.
Dang it I just got to the second episode of that jse series
wait i thought its calvin gilbert?
We know more than one name of the submarine crew members.
In mine I we hated Clarissa
This is like the worse ending....
I had a ending in which Ren & Nona date together and Alex & Jonas live separately..and Clarissa and Michael were not there
Just needed a opinion..is this ending good?
Subscribble!
Tried to play Oxenfree today. But it was pain in the arse. I don't understand that very positive rating. The game is full of unreal dialogues, repetetive "mysterious" effects that gets old after 30 minutes , boring story and so on.
