My daughter just graduated from mechanic school but not one shop in her area is giving her a shot because she is a girl...what advice can you give her to help her get a foot in the door of a male dominated industry? I tell her to keep her head up and keep beating down the doors of every shop she sees to get some experience.
Afraid I have no advice than to keep her chin up. My experience is that females that venture into male dominated places are better skilled than males, if it is because they have a (justifiable) chip on their shoulders or a will to show that they are just as good as males, or they are significantly better because they burn for the "trade" compared to males that "fell" into the trade. Just my two pence from an old fart...

I can stand right in front of your husband and hug you and he won't get mad, why? Because I am the Lord's temple and demons hold no residency in me. Without demons in me I hold no immoral thoughts towards you, for you are my sister in Christ and your husband is my brother in Christ, for we are God's family and we are blessed richly in His love for being so.
I too want my children and grandchildren to be able to enjoy the hobby, I also want them to be able to breathe less polluted air. We need to make compromises so that our children and grandchildren have a planet to enjoy those hobbies.
I don’t repair other peoples vehicles from 8-5 for a boss but I do work on many different vehicles much longer hours and publish it for millions of people to critique, so there is that element 😅
