Tim. like you said that oil cooler is nothing to worry about, just done ours on our 2016 Cherokee. Took a couple hours, I did use the new aluminum offering.
The 3.6 has alot of tunning potential. It's really defined from the factory. Currently have one modified in my 2014 charger. Has the 5 speed auto. Ported intakes and a tune. It's really quick. Also gets insane gas mileage when maintained well and cruising on the highway.
I love them 3.6 pentastar engines, they get great gas mileage and have plenty of power. Never had any trouble out of the couple that I had except the 2012 got a oil leak in the filter housing and cooler that sits in the intake valley, easy fix though. Nice truck!👍
Youre getting the same mileage as I get with my little daily whip, a 2018 Jeep "come push" Crazy that a fullsize truck is doing what a little 4 popper does
Drove a new Ford at work the other day, open the door with it in gear, and the shifter slams into park. As far as 4 wheel drive goes, I live in Minnesota and seldom ever use it. Even when I'm going to work to get in a snowplow to plow the road I just drove in on. If anything I use it to get in and out driveway, until my brother plows it.
Yes and I feel the same with 4x4. Comes in handy "every now and then" ..... but hardly ever for me so I'd rather not have the transfer case, extra driveshaft, axle, and all.
If you pick up a seat belt extender, you can leave it in the buckle and open the door in gear. The door ajar and seat belt unbuckled together trip the autopark feature. Congrats on the 10k subs!!
That truck looks great even though it needs some work but affordable as a RWD with the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine with bare essentials awesome purchase
@@318willrun update my truck will move with the door open. It's a 2023 model though. If it shifts to neutral I can just put it back in reverse and it will just beep at me
Yeah I think that won't move with the door open feature goes back to that actor that was run over and killed. So they are going for the over safe mode.
I had that same 3,6 in a 13 Jeep Wrangler and the oil filter system is junk and look down in there because they leak my jeep was still under warranty under 20k however chrysler said it was not covered because it's considered exterior engine component even you have to remove the intake to replace it so I was told from the dealership 600 dollars later, these should be under recall they all leak that I have seen, I got rid of the jeep nothing but problems you name it I was replacing it with 20k and would you know it nothing was covered lol. nice truck Tim I would like to see a slant 6 in a newer ram just for fun,
Bit to modern for me it should be a very good reliable vehicle im going to modify my inlet manifold on the poly. Going off what you did I found that video very interesting I have watched it 3 times
Nice looking clean truck. The mileage is great. and if it has guts to run thats gravy on top !! looks like a good pickup. Down the road a few miles, maybe a different type of shock might help the ride some. You'll figure it out. Good review. 👍
My 2016 ram 3.6 backs up with doors open. They had a update for the computer to enable that because people were forgetting to shift to park. I'm never getting that update.
The 3.7 came with antiquated light duty 4 speed auto, I have a 2007 Ram 1500 3.7 and had a 2008 1500 3.7. my current 3.7 has 152,000 miles, only issue so far is the EGR/exhaust leak that I'm getting ready to fix, otherwise it's been a great truck, I get 19 mph (3.92 gears) just don't expect to win any stop light races with it lol
@@laurafly3263 The 45RFE/545RFE is a fully computerized trans with 5 forward gears, the early ones (45RFE) were called a "4 speed" but had a passing gear called "2nd Prime" which was an overdriven second gear, used to control RPM when a small engine had to downshift from top gear to 2nd instead of direct (3rd). The later ones (545RFE) were used as a regular 5spd auto. The real 4spd (42/46RE) were replaced when the 3.9/5.2/5.9s were dropped in Ram/B-Van/Dakota/Durango applications (around 2003?) for the 3.7/4.7/5.7 engines.
Love the manual items, like a Foxbody LX mustang. I dislike the bells and whistles like the door open and the dial knob for gear selection Enjoy your truck.
Did you order it to get the low options? In 2002 when I found my used 2000 Ram 5.9, shortbed, window cranks, rubber floor mats and ac, I thought wow, I wouldn’t have ordered it any different! On the other hand, that truck has never even had a whiff of 20mpg! lol (Oh you didn’t order it)
I have one much like yours. I like it and it does everything I want it to. I have the quad cab. One thing I want to mention ................it is NOT a Dodge. Its a Ram. Ram became its own brand over ten years ago. They are now designed, built, advertised, sold and titled as Ram.
😂, if I want to back up with my door open... That's my business... It's MY TRUCK. Thankfully my 2012 Express didn't come with that garbage. That so called " safety" feature probably added another grand to the price tag. I don't recall if you told us how many miles were on it ?????
It's funny what you say about the seat not folding back in the same position. I've noticed the same annoying "feature" in several newer 2 door cars, Toyota among others. My parents live in Europe and same dumb thing with my mom's Citroen DS... Practical folding seats have been made for decades and, for whatever reason, the incredibly advanced technology involved in such a mechanism has become impossible to master by today's engineers. Baffling.
Nice for you....but not for me....anything that has electronic shift range is a definite no in my book. Why have manual windows and locks if you don't have a manual a shift lever...nice try stellantis/mopar/FCA....but total fail as far as I see.... But hey if that's what you want more power to you...

3.6 is chryslers modern slant 6. Theg put them in everything. One day people will look back on jusg how good this engine is.

My buddy's biggest gripe about his is that whole not being able to move it with the door open.
I agree with him! Thanks Mike!
I think if you take it to park then back to reverse it will move? I'll try mine tomorrow but I think I've done that

I'm with you on the TV screen in the dash, how much more does that cost? V6 is a good engine.
When you do the oil cooler that is the time to do the spark plugs.. you'll have intake off and it's one of those while you're in there things..
Absolutely! Thanks!
Less is more. We have that engine in our minivan and runs good
Yes, less is more !!

over regulated .....
the actor's jeep jumped out of park and rolled back

4 wheel drive is a rip off. Nice truck, brother. I want this old school truck!
Most of the later v6 engines sport 300 hp or more. They all run excellent
Agreed!
Nice truck man, 300 hp out of a na v6 is so cool
Thanks! I agree!
I like it. Can you tow the Duster with it? 👍👍👍
Thanks! Tow Max is 6500, so it should do alright! Thanks!!!!
