  • Walking tour of downtown Seattle Sunday morning of June 4, 2023. Covers the Financial District, Downtown Library and 3rd Avenue and James Street in Pioneer Square. I did this walk after walking to Pike Place Market from Pioneer Square in the previous video. Hope you enjoy it. ☕️ ✌️

    A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME…
    My name is Dennis aka Lao Ocean (also aka Dr. Wtpho, but more about that later) and I'm a Lao American RUclipsr based in Seattle, WA (since 1980). I do different things, including I’m a Creative Director for Seattle based Pom Foundation, a non profit group that strives to transmit, preserve and promote Lao culture through the arts.
    My videos and vlogs consist of Seattle and Pacific Northwest content, food and product reviews, and travel. I drink way too much coffee and eat pho 20PHO7!

    I miss old Seattle. Pioneer square, art walks... Capital Hill... U district... a lot of change since the 90's. Thx fir sharing.

      @@misteriknow2069 I think pioneer square, Capitol Hill and the 3rd and Pike area have all changed quite dramatically since the 90's, most change being in the last 3 years.

      @@DemonDog444 it’s Seattle. This is a city that constantly changes lol. Cap Hill, Pioneer Square & U Distinct are different today than they were this time last year. It’s the City’s Progressive Nature.

    I’m in the South Sound, and I watch your vids to see what I want to do whenever I come up North. ❤ your content. I’m a transplant, and the Beauty of the PNW during the Summer is what has kept me here tbh

    There is a cleaning effort in downtown....because.....of the upcoming All Star game in July. I dont know what kind of cleaning tools they are using...but they need to keep it up after the all start game too!!! hahahahaa

      I did not find seattle to be that bad but maybe it because i am from the san Francisco bay area lot of similarity with seattle but way bigger the nine country area of the bay area is the same population as the entire state of washington. I am from oakland that is a great city but a tough city in some places especially now. I found seattle to be mellower of course you still need to have your wits about you any where you go

      Whaaa? The public market area is the least scary area… or at Least it was last few times I went. No the worst of it was near pioneer square (after the crack downs.)

      @loeyminske3459 Sound Transit Link 1 is one way to get to Seattle. For an alternative, 560 to Burien then the H Rapid Ride to Downtown.

      It's a straight line, from the airport, to the U-District. Get on, get off at your stop. Perhaps the simplest rail system in the world.

    As someone visiting Seattle in September 2024 it’s seems like walking down 5th avenue or 4th avenue is quite safe and also very nice and to basically avoid third avenue.
    Great video learning a lot

      @@chrisrankinsmusiccrush9493 It's not just 3rd Ave. It's also Pioneer Square, Capitol Hill, Bell Town, Westlake Center.
      Homelessness, fentanyl addiction, severe mental illness and violent crime has basically destroyed Seattle. But don't take my word for it, go see for yourself. Just pack protection.

    I was eager to visit the Seattle library. It’s an impressive structure but was horrified to have to trudge through puddles of human urine upon exiting. I used to call the city my home but was kind of embarrassed to show it to my out of town visitors.

    i love when you are walking towards the drug store with boarded up section lying on ledge of the planter is an umbrella i have been told no native seattlite use them i guess some tourist wanted to go native and ditched his or her umbrella

    24:02 Probably a Seattle underground tour. If you walk across 1st there are glass tiles in the sidewalk that are skylights in the "underground". There should be way more people there for a Sunny Sunday. Looks like people are still staying away, don't blame them.

    To be fair, pioneer square has always been a hotbed of shittiness. I only bothered with it back in the day for The Phoenix.
    Belltown and Capital Hill were pretty great years ago.. back before they became condo jungles. Anyone remember the Funhouse in Belltown? Those were good times.
    Or The Hurricane cafe?

    Wow that was not a tour of Seattle. People want to see what businesses are open and what are closed, like is all the businesses leaving or what. You didn't even bother to look at any of the open or closed businesses. No one wants to see you just looking down the street. We want to see what type of damage was done long term by the riots.
