Even being 3 years ago, this is timeless info! Like I said in our FB group, my first attempt at my detail business flopped. Most of what you said to NOT do… I did 👀 Wish I found your channel then, but, the past is past, and it’s time to move forward. Appreciate you sir!
I've had pretty good responses from posting examples of our work, but we also provide info and ask for their message/text/call. To your point, though it is highly important to ask open ended questions to gain an interaction and is something we'll strive toward. You absolutely nailed it with regard to exceptional customer service. We like to think we go above and beyond to literally drown our customers in the best customer service they've ever experienced, and guide them from start to finish, and beyond. Many of our reviews and recommendations refer to not only the results we provide, but the outstanding customer service. I'm not trying to sound braggadotious, but my point is that we've probably closed more sales due to the over-the-top customer service, coupled with the results we deliver. "80% of our job is providing outstanding customer service; the other 20% is detailing" We literally "out customer service" our competitors.
I like the bow tie you’re wearing in this one. Great info Yvan! Thanks. I’ll be making some dedicated vids for my customers also. Our videos on RUclips are geared towards other Detailers since we do training and help other Detailers start or improve their business, and it’s very lucrative for us. But you’re right, I do want to market some videos for my customers also.
Hello algorithm you strange thing. Give this man more viewers because he really deserves it! And thanks a lot Mr. Lacroix for all the quality videos that you publish.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I truly appreciate you sharing you taking the time to make these videos, and sharing your knowledge and experience. This is not something you can typically find or hear from other detailers. It's all the same video, they show off products and make countless videos on the same thing. Sometimes there is something to learn but 90% is them just trying to say they are the best and you're not basically. The information you share is amazing and incredibly helpful in actually growing a detailing business. I can't thank you enough for making these videos and freely sharing this information.
Yvan... seriously! So simple but not obvious! After only 3 minutes of watching You I posted on FB according to your suggestions and already received a lot of interest! THANK YOU very much! All best from Poland! :)
As always right on point. We do almost everything what you mentioned Yvan and this is why for being in bussnes just for 3 years we do have over 800 reviews from 3 different platforms. They all work great for us. Also just want to mention that every customer before they leave is asked "If possible would you be able to leave us review?" And this also works great.
This is probably the most valuable video I’ve seen in a long time! Thank you Yvan for sharing, the way you break down these topics is very relatable and easy to understand, no bullshit as well. Keep these going, I really appreciate these videos, I haven’t seen anyone else make this type of meaningful content anywhere else. (Except your collaboration videos with the rag company)
I had come to this conclusion rather quickly when I noticed little to no Interaction from my clients, but I’m very thankful that you broke it down and went into great detail. It’s makes perfect sense and very logical, thank you and please continue to share your wisdom with us.

I really enjoyed this video, made me think right now how I am trying to drive interactions is not very successful. You made excellent points around posts for detailers versus posts for customers, which I feel is a very good and effective point. Thank you for the educational topic it's very appreciated and gave me a lot of value.
Another great video, Mr. Lacroix! Hope I can help with the algorythm. I sure was that guy posting Clean Shiny Cars on Instagram, and nobody was interested! Now I post some 50/50's of seat cleaning and before and afters of dirty leather and interiors, which is a little better.

I'm still not sure if I should offer a basic(quick) service and also have a more premium one, alongside some add-ons(upselling) or should I scrap the basic one and start straight from the premium? I understand that my customers will be middle-class all the way to wealthy, so I don't know who will use my basic service :/ I guess I want to have competitive prices to other established businesses in the beginning. I have a a feel that there will be some market for the basic(cheaper) service. I hope..maybe Im wrong.

If the interaction is higher, the friends of those who interacted are more likely to see the post as well and possibly interact themselves. I know right... this hits me right in the feels. I thought I was doing a justice when shooting photos for my customer. But it's only a service for that single customer, not customers that I'm trying to obtain.
There is nothing wrong with having before/after pics. The point being that you don't want to use those as your primary advertising. People like to see that you do quality work - but they don't normally care until you already have their attention.
Does your car suffer from Swirlitis? Does your car have more scratches than a pile of lottery tickets? Does your car's interior smell like a hockey rink's dressing room? We can take care of that!

Hi Yvan, some great tips in there! I actually wrote a similar peace and would like to include / link your video in there (detailfreaks.co.uk/blogs/news/marketing-guide-for-professional-mobile-detailers-and-valeters). Would that be ok with you? I agree with A LOT you said, especially regarding asking for likes. The one thing I slightly disagree is the part in which you said that (potential) customers don‘t look for entertainment. On the one hand, and in a world in which so many companies try to grab our attention - especially in crowded social media spaces - entertainment CAN be a door opener to customers‘ attention. So a well made video actually can mean that potential customers get interested in what you have to offer. But as you said: of you just show the exact same thing as everyone else, then no, a nice video won‘t be enough. Secondly, entertainment CAN be the tiny difference that makes a customer coma back - so I‘m speaking about repeated customer interactions. Because if the one guy JUST cleans your car and the other does it as well but also entertains you in a positive way, then which one are you going to remember? Exactly, the entertaining guy. This goes back to the Kano model which - basically - says that if you‘re able to positively surprise your customer with something he didn‘t expect to get, then this will exponentially increase customer loyalty.
