I appreciate a long video showing a CU install from start to finish.
Adam has one of the best bosses going lol
The old double stack attack! Nice one 👍
Yes please. On the board install.
Always amazes me how some people can get it all nice and need and then there are those that it looks like a birds nest. So love to see one done properly and neet.
What a great Boss Mr Bundy is...Any jobs going? 🤣 Never done a double stack the FuseBox version looks impressive!
What a big property! So much room for activities!
Definitely do real time video! Great for learners to see in real time.Keep up good work.👍
I for one am never bored of your content it is all very much appreciated dude. :) Adam looked quite surprised by his gift. What a guy..... :)
Love a bit of rear entry!
Felt like i was on a rollercoaster with that camera😂 anyway good content! i do love installing CU’s they’re fun in a weird way🤷🏻♂️
yes to the real-time fuse board video. I'd love to find out how you manage and find the cables and keep track of things. Great video !!!
Beautifully finished great vid👍👍
HEY NICK , JUST USED RHINO TRADE . SAVED ME A LOAD MANY THANKS
Great video Nick. CB video from start to finish sounds like a brilliant idea. 👍👍
Yes to real time fuse box wiring
Nice touch with the tools for Adam. You work well with each other (he'll learn what rear entry is in due course!). Lovely neat work as well. Only people like us (with OCD) can get excited about a consumer unit! As an aspiring sparky, I'd love to see a frame by frame cu change.
Cracking job .👌
The long video of install the CU would be a great help. Looking forward to viewing it.
nice of you!
Yes mate, please do the longer consumer unit install video.
Best boss going Adam is a very lucky chap to have you teaching him and letting him get hands on experience rather then just passing you tools
Very neat job mate👍🏻
Been asking/looking for a in-depth fuse board video from someone for a while... Definitely be interested!
Really neat board change ,think those fuse box boards will start to kick off in Ireland as build quality seems good and as rcbo boards go have great range in single mod rcbos 👍
So, what I took from this is you went for rear entry but ended up splitting the ring?
....eyes are still watering.
You dirty bird!!
A video of a cu install from start to finish would be a great idea 🤟
That fuse board video would be good and I would watch it all
Would love to see a full video of a fuse box installation, currently trying to get a apprenticeship and learn all I can before.
The last double stacked board I saw was for quite a new bungalow under 5 years old ( it was on a fairly new build estate) it only had about 3 lighting 3 ring final circuits, shower, cooker and ground source heating supply split between the two halfs of the consumer unit .more spare ways than circuits and each half had a main switch with Double pole rcd next to it.( could of got away with a splitload dual rcd or rcbo's)
enjoy your tug then more rear entry
Great Video Mate - Top Spark!
you should do a board install as a livestream
Those large double din rail boards are my preference hands down. Wish most UK domestic installations would go to this arrangement since it leaves plenty of room to expand without changing the board later. When I did domestic, I always hated going in to add a feed only to find an old wylex stuffed full and three or four add-on boards already hanging off the installation. Never know when you might want to add an EV charging point, home workshop, garage, shed, garden lights, etc. Lots of people getting solar as well. Don't regret that chonky tails gland for a minute! It looks sharp, and gives good gripping to prevent them getting yanked out. Nice one!
Nice neat job that Nick, would be interesting to see the real time CU video I think that’s a good idea, would help me greatly as an apprentice
I would love you to do an in depth vid on installing a fuseboard.
Please do a separate video on how you fit a distribution board/consumer unit.
yes very much interested
Legend of a boss.🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Highest load nearest to main switch.
Another Nice tidy job cheers nick 👍
You went all Australian on us there for a minute
They must love you to get you one of those duplex boards. They don’t have any for sale yet
Sweet
What label printer do you use?
Do you test before ripping the old c.u out just incase of broken rings or low insulation resistance or just go for it. And sort things afterwards
You should show some testing and if you find faults how you deal with them and get round them
Split the ring and make 2 20a circuits
Nice change out as usual. I wasn't so keen on the fish-eye camera lens effect on this one though.
Sorry to be negative on video quality.
Fuse board in real time would be great 👍
Hi nick. Do you have a part number for that board. Can’t see it on their web site. Ta
You buy Adam so much stuff! My old tradesman SOLD me his old bag 😂😂 Adams a lucky lad 👍🏻
Love it, take a breaker out and sell it :D
Are the infrared heaters really that expensive?
nice job , apart from the long lenght of double insulated tails , that spoils it, personally i'd of encased it in some plastic trunking , but hey eveyones different
I’m assuming the Fusbox double stacker didn’t mean you needed to remortgage unlike the Hager version? (I’m a Hager fanboy btw and it’s basically all I fit)
Nice job as always and fair play for sorting Adam out with that kit, it’s really going to set him up and on the right path 👏🏻
Jay Harding Nick used to be a Hagar fan boy until he tried fusebox and realised how much more profit he could pocket
I'm definitely interested In seeing a install all the way through as got to do mine soon.
Hi just asking how you got into been a electrician and what training you did to become fully qualified I’m hopefully starting level 2 electrical installation course at college in September thanks
I would like to see you do a real time installation of a fuse box board on you tube.
I would of bought Adam VETO Pro pac Tech LC and a TP5 😜😜😍😍😍
neat video Nick and Adam. Where did you get the double stacked board from?? would be perfect for a rewire im doing
James Hand probably expert electrical
What's with the fisheye look?is that just how they are?
Nice work as always Nick, not keen on the camera fish eye lens
That board's an absolute unit ! Did you get the church job you quoted for?
As you've now got the Wera2go bags whats happened to the open tote tool bags that you showed us about 5 months ago and you got one for Adam as well, hope there not in the skip.
If you want a 32A MEM RCBO I think you can just swop the pod from the 40A to a 32A MCB. A small quirk of the MCB/RCD pod setup is not to put your tester onto the live screw through it’s front as it doesn’t work.
I can remember the older type mem rcbo adaptors for mem model mcbs from the 2000's which clipped on top of the mcbs to convert them to rcbo's , I'm not sure if they can on the newer type as the design was changed or if they are available anymore . I haven't used mem for a long time.
@@paultipton743 I think the newer one's are all in one unit unfortunately
I would have removed the “door” it just makes life easier, in my opinion 👍
Nice video Nick. What frame rate are you filming at, have you tried 25fps to eliminate the flicker?
Also, that's a really wide angle getting close to fish eye. Try a narrower field of view. The breakup in the picture is probably the SD card at fault.
Keep up the great content!!
I really don't want to watch a video at 25fps lol
@@user-wk7wv8rn8h Sorry the first poster talk from "making the video" with same frequenz as the product use. Then in UK they use 50 hertz on power lines.
Do you as consumer of this movie can use every frames per second at your device (mostly TV) till high to 300 fps or more. It is up to you.
Ha ha ha ha! “Hey Adam! We’re gonna do some rear entry! And “ give that one a tug”
Its interesting that people say a 20way board in the uk is big in nz most new homes have a 60way board and most rewires are 30way boards
I think that do you in nz use direct power lines from board to device?
But in the UK they use ring power lines and extra fuse into power connectors.
Oliver Taylor Most average houses need only two or three circuits for sockets in the U.K, because of the ring design several rooms / multiple sockets are typically served by one circuit. Things are slowly changing as radial circuits serving individual rooms become more common.
Great video as usual - just too many adverts on this and RUclips as a whole (mobile) .......
Plenty of room for the inevitable EV charger and any other circuits required.
Can you buy the small wera screwdriver and multipliers set separate without that toolbag just the pouch
Yes you can, they are on amazon for around £90-100
Great job Nick! Where did you get the Dummy tool kit?
A real time real world consumer unit change would be good especially if you come across a problem and how you get out of it.
this videos done my head in!!!...the cameras fish eye view is just terrible and its given me a headache!!!
How’s it going nick, from one Stafford sparky to another, nice video, just out of curiosity, why do you lean more towards using single insulation tail rather than double insulated?
Hey Chris it is double insulated mate it’s just both are coloured 👍
N Bundy Electrical ok mate didn’t realised never used coloured double insulated before. Where do you get it from?
Lectricall bud 👍
N Bundy Electrical cheers mate. Good to see you working over burton manor way on Wednesday 👍🏻
Are you looking forward to the miniature rcbo’s coming out nick? Will make a great fuse box even better if the prices are right
19:30 Why not one mainswitch first and then go one line to board up and one line to board down and one line to the other old board?
So the main switch works really as *main* *switch* .
What are people doing about pulling the main fuse with a smart meter installed? I was changing a board today and the DNO turned up asking what I was doing 😂 main fuse in my tool bag and tails hanging out the wall.
I had the same and got issues a £80 bill
That's crazy! I would have asked them why they didn't install a means of isolation when they upgraded the meter to a smart meter. Sounds like they have some sort of task force watching and waiting for sparkies pulling the fuse.
@@lewisarmstrong-lamb6380 I did sent an email and everything it's entrapment!
It's illegal to cut seals, so don't do it unless you're a scheme registered member in a DNO area that allows members to cut the seals. It's as simple as that.
Ring final
what did you price this job at knowing its family?
Free dude
@@NBundyElectrical assumsed so, but everything free? or just labour? I'd be happy charging parts tbh
I paid for the parts on this one as I will make it back in ad revenue on the video 👍
why all rcbo's? only ring circuits need it no?
All circuits need them dude
@@NBundyElectrical is that part of the 18th edition regs? im sure 17th is different
@@NBundyElectrical ahh its because there is no main rcd and the rcbo's provide the rated 30ma protection needed.
21:25 well timed moan after rear entry
Yuk! Those heaters? They're hideous!!
Re. a real time CU install; if youve not already done so, sure, please do it.
Going against the flow here, but I’m doubtful on the quality of these cheap Chinese import CU’s. Used a couple myself and been burnt. Couldn’t get spare mcbs just 2 years down the line and trying to get technical info out of this particular company was a joke. I’ll stick with Wylex cheers. Nick why don’t you do a Wylex CU install and show everyone their miniature & switch neutral RCBO’s? Absolutely cracking product the best / safest I’ve personally used.
All manufacturers do it with spare parts, look at square D, qoe rcbos, wylex do it as well somee of their older stuff is hard to get hold of and they clack you for it.
Wylex were one of the firm's saying their insulated boards complied with the hot wire test, turned out they were just putting the BS number on, so buying British is no guarantee unfortunately.
Hi Anthony - the lack of spares these days is shocking, but I think you’re more likely to get Wylex (even if it’s EBay) then whatever cheap Chinese import stuff Nick keeps banging on about. I like his work but let’s face it he’s pedalling this stuff as he’s getting paid for it - good on him although I take it all with a pinch of salt. At least Wylex have a technical helpline, factories in the U.K. (I went on a tour of the Wythenshaw site a few years ago as we did a big project with them). Wylex ain’t perfect but they’re definitely the best (in my opinion) in the domestic market. Probably the only one I’d put in to my own house (actually I have lol).
Cp fusebox is based in Kilmarnock, Scotland
David - yeap that’s the importers office / warehouse HQ address. Not sure what that brings to this conversation thread.....?
@@B60901 yeah but it's all imported
Ah surge protectors, thy name is pointless
Loose the gymbol
Nice video as usual. I am glad that I don't want kids as I am on the LGBT+
By doing a full CU change from start to finish is a BIG mistake! All your doing is encouraging (& showing) the DIYer a job a FULLY QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN should only be doing! Not only are you putting peoples lives at risk, the real electricians out there are going to struggle to get work, because there is so much information available on Utube. Why bother hiring an electrician? Stop this nonsense NOW before things get out of hand. Just for the sake of a few more subs? People like you are going to make it really tough for electricians to get work and make a decent living
😂😂😂 If some Wally wants to rewire or install their CU, that's upto them. I definitely have no lack of work. You sounded a little sour there. It's highly illegal for a Diyer to change a consumer unit without notifying building control. Any Napit electrician testing and signing the installation is put liable to it. This is exactly why I don't do 3rd party. It actually works out more expensive then getting a registered electrician. The amount of evidence NAPIT require for me to sign off 3rd party. Is almost like an inspector telling me exactly how the installation design should be.
Fit better quality boards , why fit the cheapest you can buy , single pole rcbos are crap , tidy looking job though
Why do you think that single pole rcbos are bad? What he should use?
Armin Ehrbar , double pole , neutral earth faults kill people , this is not acceptable in my opinion , most electricians don’t understand as there not real electricians just good for bashing houses unfortunately
