I know it's 2 1/2 years later, just wanted to let you know these things are still so helpful. Just sat on the sim for about 5 hours nailing the rewind.... now to go out and try it in real life. I love your channel! Get back to Detroit... .by the time you come back, I'll be able to fly with you!
Don't dwell on the comments of others so much Drew. You and your vlogs have always been ever-changing and ever-evolving. Its a vlog... it's about you. You are not a static sit-com character, you are a human being who is always growing and changing. That's what makes a vlog entertaining. I've personally loved watching your 'story' progress and change over time. I think what Woody Allen says about relationships, is true about people as well: "A relationship (people), I think, are like a shark. You know? It has to constantly move forward or it dies...." Keep on swimming brother.
Drew, I don't comment a lot on your vlogs but I watch every single one. I fell in love with your vids back when you made "your gear doesn't matter" (I think that was the name). This was long before a skitzo frame give away or RR, and I can tell you there has been a an evolution. I wouldn't even call it a change. I still enjoy all that you are doing and as long as you stay true to yourself I will be watching for a long time. There are times I miss that shy guy who tripped over words but I'm also glad to see you grow. Don't let the small but vocal haters get you down. Oh, and don't let that RR fame go to your head. To quote my favorite pilot keep doing it "with love"
Drippage Your the very best at flying I have watched and listened You have given me something i can never ebet give back Your knowlege your passion have driven me and made me the pilot i am today I thank you Dont listen to that negativity Drive on young man
I'm always amazed at how fluid you are, as far as the way you explained it, fly the camera, makes more sense than your stick explanations. Keep up the flow, bruh. I still enjoy all your content, change is always good.
LeDrib, you keep doing you. Can't please everyone. Do what pleases you and let others decide if they want to come along for the ride. Having said that, pleeeaase don't stop with tutorials. Those are my personal favorite and I learn a TON from you. You're a great pilot, vlogger, and personality... But you're also an amazing teacher, and that's extremely valuable.
I just pulled off my first Rewind thanks to your video Drew, thanks for the knowledge!! It only took a few tries, and it's going to take MANY more before I can get smooth and do anything other than a basic one, but I got a few under my belt now. Had one where my brain froze right in the middle and i couldn't think of what to do to finish the move, but I didn't get stuck in the tree so I'm calling it good.
Wow. Since I've started watching you about a year ago, you seem to have improved so much. When I first started watching, you didn't seem to have much of a style. This video perfectly shows how your style has changed, and definitely for the better. Keep it up man.
Yeah... you videos did change a bit... and Rotor Riot did change too... but here is the thing... static in life is an illusion... everything always changes slowly but surely.... if a show doesn't evolve, the people watching it will grow out of it and the show will die... So yes your video changed and that's OK... some people won't like it... and that's OK too... just a fact of life I guess.... As for me... I enjoy watching your evolution... from a small time youtube channel to one of the pillar of RotorRiot....Thanks for the ride...
Well said! I was just looking at this old video and brought back some good old memories and I was thinking exactly of this subject you explained so eloquently!
hooray for "fpv acro stuff" motivation! ive wanted to be a cannabis farmer for so long fpv hit me outta nowhere, didnt ever think i would find something i was as passionate about as the positive benefits from cannabis. but here i am waiting on my first real racer to get here, registered with multi gp and fingers crossed my order comes in fast enough for me to make the race this Saturday...anyway enough about me, keep up the good work Drew, still one of my all time favorite pilots.
You can only show so much flying anyway. I enjoy the other things that you cover as well. It's like we get to hang out for a day....I think it keeps things intersting
Love your vlogs for the most part, you just need to be you. Don't sweat the little stuff. Change is good, just stick to your principles and take responsibility for the mistakes, learn from them and move on.
Drew is a man of passion. He may take a step back slow his roll so to speak. I can tell you this he will never stop flying that is his passion. I just hope he keeps making videos for us.
I think your vlog style is changing, this felt much more like an older video, we spent some time hanging out, watching some awesome freestyle, learnt something new. But the fact the videos are evolving and changing as you do is also exciting. I think there have been a lot more blog/adventure/Travel videos recently so it was nice to have one that's just you chatting to us but the variety of videos is what makes the channel interesting. Keep doing what you do!
Great video Drew. Not sure if you still see these comments this far back. Really like the vlog format, we can find hundreds of flight videos on here, with nothing more to offer. But we need this, the connection to the person and their life, it makes the flights even better. Love the tutorials, this one was very helpful. Thanks.
I like it and, I think, the difficulty level is at the point I can make it. I’m gonna start practicing and I’ll show you the progress. Thanks for sharing!
Another tutorial!! Not that I don't like your new content, but I honestly was missing your more "old school" videos. But hey, your life has been changing, so the documentation of your life should too. Keep it up man, thanks for all you do for this hobbysportindustry!
Drew, I've been flying Fpv quads for as long as you or even possibly a little longer! Over the past year you have improved immensely! You have gone from being an average pilot with excellent editing skills to a premier pilot with still excellent editing skills! As far as bando flying goes, I'd pick you as the premier Bando pilot! PERIOD! I watch all the great pilots over the past 2-3yrs,some have shown to be stagnant in pilot skills while others continue to blow my mind! you continually show amazing improvement! (I don't really write on these comments but lately on your blogs,I hear someone making a crappy response related to your piloting skills! I would bet my last dollar that your skills out play anything they have! Keep up the great work!
PLEASE do not change anything! I love the format. I look forward to every video. You are by far my favorite vlogger! Amazing videos! Thanks for the inspiration.
Man, not sure what it is with your flying but I just love that style and smoothness. I'd be thrilled to be 1/2 that smooth. Also you have your GoPro settings nailed. Color, contrast, etc. of your flights is perfect. Keep it up!

Aloha Drew, I'm new to this sport/hobby/artform, and you're first on my watchlist. You offer that combination of the technical, flight how to, and lifestyle that keeps me as a subscriber. You just keep doing what you do and I'll keep watching.
Your show is my fav vlogs style , Steele is my fav freestyle and so on . Keep growing and changing. It's life it's supposed too evolve like flying skills.
TBH your videos are what changes my flying from just moving through the air to an actual art. I mean don't get me wrong I still suck, but I now have the guts and the knowledge of what tricks look like to try them. Thanks! Also I'd love to meet up sometime, I live in Okemos!
Drew, just keep doin' what you are doin'. You are by far my favourite vlogger/FPV pilot to watch, and I for one enjoy the mix. In fact in some respects I enjoy the vologging more, because unless there is something new or different (like this one was) most flying vids tend to be very samey.
A suggestion for a rewind is underneath a fairly high ceiling is to go up in a half-powerloop (you want to be going straight up while inverted) and then punch out upside down and half-mattyloop out of it.
I like that your videos are evolving, as is your career and life. If anything, they are getting better and more professional. I feel like we have watched your flying get insanely better too. Gives me some hope that I will "lvl up" my flying too. lol
You just blew my mind with the ESC chirp on a switch, I just flashed 3.2 to my Pico where I didn't fit a buzzer cus it would just hang there, now I have a buzzer without a buzzer 👍🏼 The reverse stuff is cool, can't wait to try on the 5 inch 🚀
I watch most people's flight videos to learn, expand, and analyze. I watch your videos because I truly love watching you fly, AND I learn a lot from your flying. We all wish we had more time to fly, but we all have to do what we all have to do. You keep doing what you do, and I'll keep on watching. Even though a TRUE master would have just rewound out of the tree. ;-)
Hey Drew cool stuff thank you. I watched the first minutes and I said oh this is easy and I went out to try it...... almost crashed against a light pole. I think I get it now after a few tries. Keep it up!
this is y I said ur the best can't get anuff watch your videos everyday and eveytime I make a new build I watch ur videos while I build u just inspire me so much love life just keep living it!!!! go LEEEEEE DRRIBBBBB!!!!!!!!
I perfected the yaw spin / fly backwards trick yesterday from one of your videos. Today I'm working on this. Only 5 more years of your videos and I'll be caught up.😫
I saw what you did there. Tubers commented and you replied with bringing it back with a “rewind” tutorial. You da man Le Drib! Oh btw, Really kickin track on your rip!
Drew your a F*cking beast! Please dont change for no1! no1 is perfect just keep doing what you like and what you think is good for you! we will be here for it! AWSOME video!
This is great! I've been wondering how you pull that stuff off. It REALLY helps to be able to hear your motors a bit to get a better idea of what you are doing.
Dude, your flight style is inspirational. I am VERY new to the hobby - just finished my first build and SLOWLY learning to fly FPV. Anyway, you're fluid approach to flying is incredible. Keep up the great flight and well put together videos!
I often use this but not really as a trick. Its more like back in the days, when you hit the quarterpipe in the skatepark corner to get fresh momentum and shoot back in the park.
Still one of my favorite drone vlogs. Has nothing to do with the this or the that... you're just entertaining and real... if that makes sense. Thanks for the free fun all the time!
The stick I normally use is just a painters pole I got from Home Depot. Same one we got with Charpu in the RR episode haha Will have to look into that golf club water ball retriever as another option though hmmm

Rewinds are kinda cool :P
HI Big fan
I tend to carry a lot of momentum right into the ground...
lol
A wish RUclips had a laughing emoji. Brilliant comment🤣

😂
it’s called inverted wallet spin

I love how when security comes Drew says nothing just flying my “little drone “ that’s a 5 inch quad copter it’s not little ha ha LOL!

Nice lighting!!! Wow! Thanks Drib for all your time!

You explained the trick very well. Good job drew..
When you do not change, you REWIND. I like your vlogs, you have specific flow, something like chill but always going. Pantha rhei.
Drew, I've been flying Fpv quads for as long as you or even possibly a little longer! Over the past year you have improved immensely! life changes from time to time and there is a lot of new work ... just keep on going ... will watch every video/vlog/...
Thanks for the great tutorial! Now I'm gonna rewind and watch it again.
Your show is my fav vlogs style , Steele is my fav freestyle and so on . Keep growing and changing. It's life it's supposed too evolve like flying skills.
Finally a Pilot with a good car. Love the GT86/BRZ
Youre awesome. 4 years ago... I hope everything is going great in your life still.
Best flow of all pilots. Sick
TBH your videos are what changes my flying from just moving through the air to an actual art. I mean don't get me wrong I still suck, but I now have the guts and the knowledge of what tricks look like to try them. Thanks! Also I'd love to meet up sometime, I live in Okemos!

Be you, and be well, bro! You inspire a lot of people.
Also, be healthy. The world needs folks like you. Cheers!
In my opinion you get better and better. I like the smooth movements.
Rock on dude!
Drew is frozen !! Sooooo dope!!!!! Nice Mattyflip action... btw I like the "are we getting kicked out" from last video 😂
You are the best at what you do! FPV personality vlogs. Not joking, you do it best. The most enjoyable to watch!! Love your vids!
A suggestion for a rewind is underneath a fairly high ceiling is to go up in a half-powerloop (you want to be going straight up while inverted) and then punch out upside down and half-mattyloop out of it.
Be thankful that you have seasons. In Tucson AZ it was 104 to day. Cool vid keep up tutorials.
I wish I could rewind all frame destroying crashes! Thanks for the vid, looking forward to more tutorials!
Finnaly. You drove the GT86. Never thought you would. My stuff for flying lives in mine.
Been working on this in sim, think i got it down now. Thanks. And your videos are awsome Drew, not a single one gets missed out on! Keep it up
I watch most people's flight videos to learn, expand, and analyze. I watch your videos because I truly love watching you fly, AND I learn a lot from your flying. That makes me happy to hear, I love getting to help others try new things with their flying
And yes tree_reverse_mode would be nice haha
I love doing these kinds of tricks I tend to do them more and more often :)
Hey Drew cool stuff thank you. I watched the first minutes and I said oh this is easy and I went out to try it...... almost crashed against a light pole. I think I get it now after a few tries. Keep it up!
Keep being the eagle amongst the pigeons man! Great content..

😁😁😁 thanks Paul!
Le Drib your very much welcome!!!!!😁
Good looking scarf man!
You're the man! Thanks Drew!
Dude for a relative newbie in the sport compared with your other peers i think you are pushing the boundaries. Can't wait to see the progression!
"Fly the camera, not the sticks" That actually is a very good one, Drew. Makes you feel more connected to your movements and improves smoothness!
Love the rewind effect!! Very slick!
this episode felt natural to me, thats what i like!
Loving these how to videos, please keep them coming!
Revers Rewind something i do by accident and one of my favourite tricks . i think johnnyFPV is probably the best i've see at the Rewind
What is a reverse rewind?
a rewind if you like
Rewind is sweet. I like using gravity for the rewind too.
Gotta watch this again and hit the sim then perfect it in the field. Thanks Bird. Your top 3 in my book at least. Hope to rip ballz with you someday
ohhhhhh snap, what have we here?!? :D ...can't wait to watch, but right now is edit time, so excited though, one of my all-time favorite moves!!!!
Sweet trick thank you for teaching us this keep doing what you love
I like Your flight style. Very inspiring.
Badass! I've seen it done but never explained. Keep up the tutorials
I like how you told the cop little drone... funny to me make it sound all fluffy and pillows at 30-80 mph
I perfected the yaw spin / fly backwards trick yesterday from one of your videos. Today I'm working on this. Only 5 more years of your videos and I'll be caught up.😫
I really dig this dude. I like your flying ability. Be true bro!
Great tutorial. Enjoy your videos.
Great hang out vlog Drew - loved the tutorial...

I'm Liking the bus style fusion frame
Nice explanation bro 👍 Im gonna give them a go next time I'm out. Cheers bro
Thanks! I love trick tutorials, it increases my "trick vocabulary". Will definitely try it. Cheers!
Kick ass car man! And kick ass flying.
I gotta say, i like the format of this video. nice work
:)
I saw what you did there. Tubers commented and you replied with bringing it back with a “rewind” tutorial. You da man Le Drib! Oh btw, Really kickin track on your rip!
Excellent video, thank you for sharing !
Great tutorial. Just keep doing what you're doing. Can't please everybody man.
Thanks for the tutorial! Will try it tomorrow
This was really helpful. Thanks Drew
Thanks for making a video on this... I've been working on this lately!
Legend, lessons help. Thank you
One of my favorite pilots out there, just awesome. Great vlog Drew.
Smoothest lines
Awesome rip, interesting tutorial. Pretty slick move. 👍
Still one of my favorite drone vlogs. Has nothing to do with the this or the that... you're just entertaining and real... if that makes sense. Thanks for the free fun all the time!
Hey drew, can you post a link to the stick that you use to get your quad out of trees?
Try a Golf club water ball retriever, like 3 feet collapsed and 12 to 15 opened up. Will fit in any car.
OOh, good idea.
The stick I normally use is just a painters pole I got from Home Depot. Same one we got with Charpu in the RR episode haha
Will have to look into that golf club water ball retriever as another option though hmmm
Soon as i seen that vid, I went out and bought one of those Home Depot sticks. It saved me just the other night!
this is the best i've found, collapses to 5 feet, extends to 28, but it's 32 with the 4 foot end piece sold separately. www.jackite.com/online-store/28-ft-Thick-Tip-Orange-Fiberglass-Windsock-Pole-p78587343 Wish it were 50 feet, but at almost 30 feet, it's a very manageable and sturdy stick, very light weight. there's a video of me using it on my channel called Quad on a stick.
Thanks Drew, this will be part of my next training session. Good job.
