6 years later this just kept me from changing the plan. Thanks yall. Seriously. My life is forever changed thanks to these conversations
I put off watching this episode of with Mike as I thought I wasn't particularly interested in the 2 topics, but boy was I wrong. Dude's such an articulate and insightful speaker, he could probably talk about knitting and have me interested. One of the best mixes of entertainment and knowledge delivered per square word in the industry.
Man, I cannot agree more with you. He is such an intelligent and humble guy who is able to provide the community with such great insight and info!
Mike is all you need man! My progress and clients progress is trough the roof ever since I started following! Thanks for having him on and sharing with us Steve!
Wow, this is so fantastic to hear. That's why we're putting this out!
Yaaaay another Mike episode
Yippie!!
Literally Steve, you made my fuckin weekend by uploading a Podcast with Mike 👌

The feel when Mike's examples are "looks aren't everything. You can also be a mega millionaire or outright genious".
Yup!! Thanks for tuning in!
- Coach Jess
I could listen to Mike all day, even on repeat. Great content once again.
Man, me too...me too
- Coach Pascal
Yay ! Love these podcasts with Mike , such an intelligent guy and he can relay information so well
So much rationality, objectivity and wise perspective ! Kinda rare to find sometimes, thanks to both of you guys ;)!
Oh yeah, you're absolutely right. That's why we respect and value Mike so much.
LOVED the discussion on body dysmorphia and mental health!
Thanks as always for listening buddy :)
- Pascal
Very interesting discussion! I’d like to add some perspective on the body dysmorphia portion. I think some folks may have fears of gaining fat but don’t seek professional help for reasons like one you mentioned- doctors/therapists often don’t pay mind to physique goals and override that by either advising you to stay at a higher body fat % or to gain weight if you’re lean
I think therapeutic remedies are often (ironically) just as extreme as disordered eating/exercise- when a patient is deemed to have an ED, the professionals fixate on the symptom (an eating disorder) and not the root cause (whatever is causing that disorder). This leads to treatment plans centering solely around force-feeding, gaining fat, adding calories, etc. I can’t fully speak for ED treatment, as I haven’t been treated myself, but from many people close to me with EDs over the years, this is a really common problem I hear
I think modern therapy is still very behind the times and can cause body dysmorphia to get even worse at times. If you take someone struggling with an ED and force them to get fat without truly addressing emotional reasons for the disorder, it only increases their fear of being fat and furthers the disordered thinking.
I think this is a huge reason that many folks with disordered eating might convince themselves their habits aren’t unhealthy- because the alternative is often more triggering than just trying to find a balance between being decently lean and still working within a comfortable weight goal
This is also compounded by unrealistic Instagram body representations- especially for women, you get a ton of girls that sit around 13-15% bf year round and use PEDs but deny it. This leads the average female bodybuilding enthusiast to feel like they’re just not dedicated enough if they sit at 20% bf on an off season. Seeing constant stage lean images presented as the “norm” really impacts body image and ideas of what is realistic or not
Great podcast, Mike is exceptionally knowledgeable.
He's a very smart cookie
- Pascal

Dropping 500 calories + 250 calories cardio worked for me the best .. so 750 Total for 2-3 weeks.

This was right on time. After 2 days of dieting, I lost 5 lbs. Good that I watched this, so I don’t self-congratulate lol. I now know that the first week is a wash. Awesome topic.

Somehow I'm not surprised that Mike has read Hitchens.
incredible insight on the BDD stuff
Right, he once again delivered!
- Coach Pascal
You should really watch the Christopher HITCHENS documentary on mother theresa
👍👍❤️❤️‼️
A fair number of alcoholics seem to have had success transitioning back to healthy moderate drinking with naltrexone.
53:30 oooh, gutted :(
Cutting your calories over night by a thousand is stupid. It's too much it leaves you nowhere to go later on and the rebound is going to make you gain back quickly whatever you lose.
Not to mention the fact you will be starving 24/7. Will it work in the short run of course but long term it's a waste of time and you've put yourself through a load of shit for no reason because it's temporary for most people.
I haven't watched this one in a very long time, but wasn't he referring to a minicut?
- Coach Jess
31:42-45:00, 45:30-55:30
How do I submit questions to Mike? Mine is regarding zigzag diets and whether it’s a bad idea/why/etc.
For massing or cutting

RIP doggo :'(
Kinda hard to give up 24/7/365 abs 🔔(ding ding)🔔 - almost as bad as my fear of spiders 🕷
It is hard but absolutely worth it in the long run ;)
I would pay as much I paid for my human a and p book for a hard copy of how much should I train lol
Hehehehe
Shout to the late Christopher Hitchens 😄
You could have actually used him as an example. He gave approximately -500 fucks what he looked like.
