    Awesome episode. I've been learning how my body holds water / reacts to sodium a bit recently and this shit is just so interesting its cool to see it not only happen but to have an idea of whats going on thanks to you guys and these podcasts.

    • @tawnipargman8237

      Yeah, water really hides our progress, it's so discouraging! How do YOU handle this phenomenon?

    • @mphughes256
      @mphughes256 4 года назад +1

      @@tawnipargman8237 before learning about it through these videos I didn't really know what was going on but now I know a little better. This morning for example I woke up and knew I had some more water / bloat from sodium and when I weighed my self I was about 5 lbs heavier then I was yesterday, but I knew what it was and didn't mind it to much and sure enough a little bit later once I fealt it was gone I weighed myself again and I had dropped a majority of it and was just under 2 lbs above from yesterday. So I guess just stick to it and adjust as needed! I'm going to limit my sodium this weekend and see how my results are come Monday!

    The Dexa gets a lot of hate, but it's really quite accurate assuming your hydration levels from test to test are managed.
    Like when I get a Dexa, I do it first thing in the morning after drinking 500ml of water (to rehydrate).
    Also, it tagged Alberto Nuñez at 6-7% when he has striated glutes...but still within the 2% of error.
    Also, I can't even deadlift more than once every 10 days, to Mike's point... people that say the deadlift is as fatiguing as bench and squat just doesn't have an impressive deadlift.

  • @ProphetFear
    @ProphetFear 4 года назад +3

    "What do I think about the study that says deadlifts are no more fatiguing than squat or bench? I think it's laughable." *Barbell Medicine has left the chat.*

    Fluid would register as lbm so probably the reason between the natty Vs non natty estimations difference. That and just being bigger percent of fat would be lower as a bigger number equation . Aka 6% 150lb (9) Vs 250lb (15 lb in fat)

    He has to be talking about Dusty Hanshaw with the rows. Guy uses such absurd loads, but says he's tried the perfect form before, and he grows better with the body English and momentum. Mike is just saying guys like this are always mistaken, and better form would = better results? I mean, I can see it; the same top guys will say eating 7x per day burns more fat, so I'm aware they aren't infallible simply due to being successful.

    No, Kevin Levrone went heavy and close to mechanical failure most of the time.

    • @Luke-do1ek
      @Luke-do1ek 4 года назад

      You do realize Kevin levrone is probably the biggest genetic freak in the history of bodybuilding perhaps with only the exception of Ronnie coleman. Also- were you there at every single one of his training sessions throughout his career? Or do you just know of the ones that are on video- in which he likely went harder than usual for the camera...

    • @pyro1284
      @pyro1284 4 года назад

      @@Luke-do1ek yes sir, I do realize that, and yes I also know he would take half the year off from training. Doesn’t take a rocket scientists or me having to be at every one of his workout session to realize the scope of his training. Perhaps do your homework, listen to interviews watch old footage. He was one of the few like Coleman who did go heavy and did train to close to failure. The fact that he’s a genetic freak is not what I’m disagreeing with. I disagreed with his OPINION of him stating that Levrone never trained to failure.

    • @Luke-do1ek
      @Luke-do1ek 4 года назад

      @@pyro1284 you just said it yourself bud. Close to failure “most of the time”. And straight up mechanical failure “most of the time” are two very different things.

    • @pyro1284
      @pyro1284 4 года назад

      @@Luke-do1ek You’re completely correct they are different (mechanical vs muscular) failure. In my opinion, he worked in both ranges. Basically I just believe he didn’t leave much in the tank (RIR) that is all. Yes he’s a genetic freak.
