Hola Amigos como estan , este avion me recuerda de niño cuando viajaba en esos aviones de sam en colombia me parece precioso y muy real ,saludos y gracias por este video
Every Thursday morning, I check the Horizon Facebook page and youtube, hoping for a new eflite release. I've bought the last 3 releases and may have to get this one. Nice job! I'm still waiting for an updated and faster F-27 though.
I just pre ordered mine wish I knew when they were shipping. I own many umx airplanes and love the flying experience so much fun I have a big park in my backyard so all these eflite Horizon Hobby umx airplanes are perfect for me thanks for making a awesome product happy flying to all !!!!!!!!
Horizon Hobby said it would ship by December 15th and it did on the 14th my UMX Twin Otter is on its way couldn't be happier thanks for being a honest company you guys and gals ROCK!!!!!!!!!
Interesting choice with the EPS and 1s combo. It looks super cool and I'm a sucker for any twin engine plane. I wonder how it will stack up against the umx air commander.
It's smaller and lighter than the UMX AeroCommander so it can be flown in smaller spaces and more places...including indoors! Yet it's still stiff enough, has enough power -- plus AS3X -- so it can fly outdoors in some wind too :)
The video shows it has plenty of power (including multiple loops from level flight...even with the floats on!), and from the product page: Needed to Complete (1) Full-range 5+ channel Spektrum™ DSMX®/DSM2® compatible transmitter (1) 1S 3.7V 500-800mAh LiPo with JST-RCY Connector (1) Compatible LiPo Charger
@@thelongestday64 This, the UMX Ultrix and future models will also use the 1S 500mAh batteries ( www.horizonhobby.com/product/3.7v-500mah-1s-25c-lipo-battery-jst-x2/HHDEFLB5001S25.html ) and 1S 800mAh batteries ( www.horizonhobby.com/product/3.7v-800mah-1s-30c-lipo-battery-jst/SPMX8001S30.html ) that are available for $8-$13. Does it have rudder control? I'm guessing it does but couldn't determine it from the manual or video. The 4th channel could control the nosegear even if there was no rudder hence my inquiry. Thanking you in advance, John
It uses differential thrust for yaw control, as seen clearly in the video just after the 2:45 mark. That's also why it can perform such an amazing blender/inverted flat spin at the 0:55 mark ;)
Went out and got one about a week ago. Absolutely love the little plane, flies just like something I would build. It'll even hover if you put the elevator pushrod on the 3rd hole in. I was wondering if there was an extra servo output to use for flaps, and if there is, how to teach the board to use it as flaps?? Doing a flaperon mix would make it tip stall easily.
It's very easy to throw with your hand/hand launch, though if you'll be landing on grass, we strongly recommend removing the landing gear (which is very easy to do!) and landing on the belly/fuselage.

The file will be available, but for a relatively simple model like this, there are almost no settings to change compared to a default/stock model file! Most of our UMX models require little to no programming, and the same is even true for many of our larger models too. Most model files just have different dual rates/expo, much of which is personal preference and easy to set/adjust on your own. And in cases where more changes are required we always included detailed settings/instructions for how to program Spektrum transmitters in the manual for the airplane! It likely takes less time to program a new model (especially this one!) using those settings/instructions than it takes to find, download and import the file...and you learn more about programming your transmitter in the process ;)
Yes, the DXS will work! However, this is NOT a suitable trainer model! If you're not already an experienced RC airplane pilot you should start with a suitable trainer model first...like the AeroScout S 2 1.1m RTF Basic that includes a DXS transmitter, which you can also use for this model, for just $199.99: www.horizonhobby.com/product/aeroscout-s-2-1.1m-rtf-basic-with-safe/HBZ380001.html
Yes! LiPo cells/batteries are often priced based on Watt Hours/energy (because that dictates the amount of rare earth raw materials used to produce them...which impacts cost the most). A 2S 300mAh battery (7.4V x 0.3Ah = 2.22Wh) is basically the same Wh/energy as a 1S 600mAh battery (3.7V x 0.6Ah = 2.22Wh)...which is less, and therefore costs less, than a 1S 800mAh battery (3.7V x .8Ah = 2.96Wh).
