    200 likes on one of the most useful videos I've seen in my life... How sad. This channel deserves a lot more attention.

    18:10 why do you tip your head towards the strike? Doesn’t that make the impact harder?

    • @EffectiveMartialArts
      @EffectiveMartialArts  3 года назад +2

      Yes and no. It is always preferrable to absorb a strike on the forehead rather than the chin, so tipping your head allows you to protect your chin, and make sure your spine is in a better alignment to absorb the impact. That being said, with that posture you can also "roll with the punch" to lower the impact, and the best case scenario is just to avoid the strike entirely through head movement or footwork. Check out this demonstration to see this principle in action: ruclips.net/video/ClXohFvhdwo/видео.html

      Thats a good question and if i may, the idea is generally , same with the forward movement into straight strikes....that at this point you cant avoid the strike entirely so you acknowledge you're going to take the hit but your goal is avoiding the end of the punch which is the most powerful and dangerous part. That part where the "snap " is. Where when throwing it you push off the foot, twist the hip, raise you elbow on a hook or twist at the shoulder on a straight etc etc and when you tighten your fist for impact most. When you snap it in you know? Thats the part you want to avoid taking so generally you either want to get on the outside of it or on the inside to catch the strike before

    Well; sir I am from India. I am 20 years old, I think I am in good physical conditions BUT I want to get a job in the police next year so I want to get in shape. I can do jogging and running in my home but now it's gotten boring. Can you suggest me how can I get in shape at home? Also, personal wish of mine to get into kickboxing. That is, I hope I get to be a hobbyist kickboxer one day.
    Since Covid-19; fitness has become a pain for me. Can you suggest anything to help me successfully get in the police? I am a bit intimidated by the fact that at least in my locality there are no MMA/kickboxing gyms, regular gyms are closed and it's really hard to learn new physical skills by yourself by watching RUclips videos. Thank you, please reply as soon as possible if you can.
